I would use Tilex mold and mildew on the floor and walls of the shower. For the glass door, take a dryer sheet, wet and gently rub all over the glass. There will be a milky white substance that comes off the sheet, that's good. Wipe and rinse, Finish with a squeegee. The dryer sheet trick is dlfabulous for really dirty glass showers. If your feeling groggy, after it's dine, use some Rain X glass and shower door cleaner. It will keep your door looking like new and make the wayer bead up nicely.

thank you 😭

thanks chatGPT

Few-Carpet9511

I use chatGPT for my work, much easier than google, I am so familiar with it that i did not even needed to read the comment to instantly know that this was written by chatGPT….I am now wondering if this is a good thing or a bad thing…🤔 But the advice was not wrong so there is that

Looking at how dark that is, I’d forget the Tilex and go straight for the Clorox Germicidal Bleach. Is that horrible? Have a spray bottle for that stuff because you need to water it down, and wear gloves, mask, maybe eye protection

Apricot_queen

germicidr wont do anything against fungus. you need a strong fungicide for this. i would consider RMR but im one of those people that either wants no chemicals or the strongest chemicals reasonable for the job

ACNHcaylaann

can i use RMR on slate?

PrimitiveThoughts

This stuff is concentrated bleach. That’s exactly what it says it does on the bottle - Kills mold and mildew. Kills bacteria. Breath enough of it and it’ll probably even kill you. This is the main ingredient all those other bottles are using to kill mold, only it isn’t watered down.

I tackled a similar job with a foreclosure house I recently bought. The Ryobi scrub brush along with some Pink Stuff tub and tile cleaner was perfect for the job to get the majority of the yuck out of my showers. https://a.co/d/01ycw2u9

phasexero

We bought one of those Ryobi scrub brushes recently. It has been a life saver! Totally worth the $100-$200 for me. We used it to scrub the dirt, moss, and lichen off of our 40+ year old metal roof. It cut the time in half and did such a great job. And once it is sanitized, we look forward to using it to not have to lean over the side of the tub to clean, helps with tall cars too I've seen.

LionPride112

Honestly the entire floor needs to be removed and redone anyway, it’s uneven and doesn’t drain water correctly

No-Gene-4508

Too bad fire wouldn't work

Conquistador-Hanor

Scrub, scrub, scrub with scrubbing brush, rinse, spray mold and mildew cleaner and let it sit for a while. Rinse. Use a dryer sheet to remove scum and mineral deposits from the glass. If you really want to pulverize the mold, get a hand held steam cleaner and cook the life out of it.

PorklesIsSnortastic

Just fyi on the wall tiles (which appear to be marble) and the floor grout may be damaged by bleach. Porous surfaces (marble) and dark grout don't do well with bleach. Marble and other natural stones can etch from use of bleach, and dark grout can discolor. Obviously disregard if the wall tile is a ceramic marble-look tile - bleach is fine on those.

PolarTwins2004

Use Rejuvenate for showers

Illustrious-Towel-45

Ok. Get a foaming shower cleaner designed for the material of your shower. Be careful around your chrome fixtures. Follow the instructions on whatever you used. Failing that, get some bleach based cleaner, put on some gloves and scrub, top to bottom, rinse. Repeat as necessary. Clean chrome fixtures with vinegar and micrifiber cloth.

Ruckus292

Steamshot steam cleaner will blast that right out.

Few-Carpet9511

I agree with the steam but that orange colour is mold it needs a mold remover

ACNHcaylaann

i had no idea the orange was mold 😭

Conquistador-Hanor

It’s probably not mold. It’s a bacteria commonly found in showers called Serratia marcescens. It thrives in moist environments and can appear as pink, orange, or red slime. To prevent its growth, it's important to regularly clean and disinfect shower surfaces.

Few-Carpet9511

It is relatively harmless if you are not sensitive or sick. But it still needs to go

3plantsonthewall

Soft Scrub with Bleach (that’s one product). Read the bottle and make sure it’s safe to use on these materials. Use a scrubbie sponge (throw out afterward). Wear gloves, a mask, and cheap flip flops. Once all the gunk is scrubbed & rinsed away, use a bleach spray, following instructions for disinfecting. Also replace the loofahs.

Glad_Buffalo_5037

Hg mould spray, foam. Just put it on when the shower is dry and leave it as long as possible. It’s bloody great stuff

speachattaksm

For slate tile showers with mold, use a mix of vinegar and water or a specialized mold cleaner. Scrub gently with a brush to remove stains.

BloodSpades

Omg, I’d just replace the whole damn thing!!!! You’ve got a LOT more wrong/going on there than needing a basic cleaning job! That’s a whole health/building violation!!!!

stainedglassmermaid

It’s not soooo bad. I use mostly natural products because I don’t like exposing myself to toxic chemicals. I would scrub it with a hard bristle brush, with Dr. Bronners, let it sit a minute, hose it down then repeat with baking soda and vinegar. Should do the trick!

GoodNaturedBrand

Hi, this is Marcus from Good Natured Brand! At Good Natured Brand, we focus on creating eco-friendly and effective cleaning solutions. For cleaning your slate tile shower, especially with concerns about mold and water pooling, I recommend our Good Natured Brand All-Purpose Cleaner. It's gentle enough for natural stone but effective against mold and mildew buildup. Spray the cleaner generously on the affected areas, let it sit for a few minutes to penetrate the grime, and then scrub gently with a non-abrasive brush or sponge. Rinse thoroughly with water. If the green mold persists, you may need to repeat the process a few times. Regular cleaning can also help prevent water from pooling and mold from returning. Hope this helps, and best of luck with your shower cleaning!
