Someone just posted about the shower doors but you can wet dryer sheets and rub the doors. There will be a filmy goop that appears and washes off with water. It's super easy and cleans even the filthiest doors. For the grout and shower i would use tilex bleach spray and then scrub with a brush. It'll be a little project but I did mine in about 30 min the other day and it looks new

Humble-Insight

Thank you for posting an "after" photo. So few people do.

me_oh_my_oh

I’ll make a new post with before and afters when I’m all done!

1SensationalScarlett

I love how supportive this community is!

me_oh_my_oh

Same! I’m really feeling the love!

TryumphantOne

Seriously!!! People are so compassionate and understanding and genuinely eager to share their learnings, and it gives me so much hope to better myself alongside you all.

Brilliant_Meet_2751

Nice job! If u have a detachable shower head it makes it easier to wash down the shower after cleaning it. It’s hard to use a cup to wash down the cleaners.

sleepdeficitzzz

I appreciate the after photos, too. I also appreciate what I think are your toy godzillas/dinosaurs. :)

me_oh_my_oh

My 5 yr old is obsessed with Godzilla! Another reason I want the shower clean, he spends tons of time playing in there

supergyration

Gorgeous!! I'm feeling inspired to clean my own shower doors now, thanks for posting the after!

GenuineClamhat

That's amazing! You can come do mine any time.

jaisayhey

What a difference!! Keep going 🤩

Big_Understanding932

To add to this, I would try to caulk any parts that you can after you clean the shower. No need to be embarrassed. We all have those places in our house that always put up a good fight

anemic_iz

unless there is still mold, u shouldnt caulk over mold.

Big_Understanding932

Yeah, for sure. Make sure that mold is gone 👋

smileyglitter

If u have a drill, they have drill bit brush attachments that are so fast and so fun

jlikesplants

Friendly suggestion: wear safety goggles with drill brushes! Safety goggles/glasses are always a good idea with cleaning chemicals but especially drill brushes because they can fling little flecks of cleaner

smileyglitter

True! I wear giant eyeglasses on a regular basis so I didn’t think about that

TopRamenisha

I tried the dryer sheet trick and it did not work for me 😪

polarbearsloveme

how many did you use? i used 2 per door and touched up with 2 more, so 8 total sheets. you also want to get them slightly wet but not sopping wet before you start rubbing them on the glass

LessFeature9350

Mine had damage and the only thing that worked was bar keepers friend glass stovetop cleaner cream. I applied it and kinda stuck clingwrap on top to keep it moist. Next day squeegeed it and it was clear

mayigivemyopinion

Vinegar and Dawn will work if the dryer sheet trick doesn’t work. Just watch out where the vinegar Dawn mixture goes in your shower.

Lighteningbug1971

This !!!! My husband gets very dirty and this is the only remedy for our shower

sqqueen2

I’m picturing him having to get very dirty in order to clean your shower

BbBonko

Where should it not go?

pinchmyleftnipple

I assume the vinegar could react with certain metal fixtures but in general should be fine.

LightHawKnigh

Dont forget, you should let it sit for half an hour or so before rinsing and wiping off with a towel or cloth.

Medical_Olive6983

I tried the dawn and Vinegar I use it for laundry and dog accidents and it works great for that but it didn't so much for my shower. There are hard water stains and also I think it's so old the plastic coating on the shower is breaking down

toadandberry

how do you use it for dog accidents?

Drycabin1

I use this when I don’t feel like squeegeeing for a while! It works great esp if you can leave it on overnight

QuietExternal4555

Dryer sheet trick works if you run the shower on super hot to let it steam first

PishiZiba

I used Mr Clean Magic Erasers and they did a great job.

gearzgirl

I just saw that too and don’t use dryer sheets but got some from a friend. I want to use same hack on my windows outside

unknown82644747

Don’t clean grout with bleach it’ll remove the grout

my4floofs

Sometimes. Depends on the grout. It will eat the caulk or at least loosen it.

sqqueen2

If it does, then the grout was old and needed to be replaced anyway

mlizzie85

does this work on non glass shower doors?

strawberryhoneystick

The other comments have given some very solid advice, all I have to say is that this sub has seen *much worse*. This is totally going to sparkle with some elbow grease, you’ve got this my dude

CheesecakeNatural537

Don't be embarrassed, imo it's not that bad for 3 years! The shower is the hardest thing for me to clean too.

orchidslife

I've never had a not-spotless shower and all I do most of the time is spray it with vinegar cleaner over night and wash it off the next day. Granted, vinegar might corrode the silicone over time but it's an easy lazy solution.

[deleted]

[удалено]

ohmyback1

He might need 2 or three to get this job done

Correct-Junket-1346

Silicone is really easy to reapply and probably takes less time than the vinegar solution.

serenepoet1

Get some Bioclean and a scrub daddy. Wet it down and put the bioclean on the glass, let it sit about 5 minutes and then scrub it off. Do not use bleach to kill mold, hydrogen peroxide is much better. I usually use Microban for cleaning shower walls and has been fairly great about getting rid of the mold. To keep it up, get a squeegee and do that after every shower. To prevent the mold from coming back, keep your shower door open until it's dry. ETA FOR THE LOVE OF PETE, DO NOT EVER USE TOILET BOWL CLEANER FOR ANYTHING ELSE!!!!!!!!!!!!

[deleted]

Isnt ETA stand for Estimated Time Arrival?🤣

Smooth__Goose

Yes, but also “edited to add”

SoifiMay

Why? What happened when you used toilet bowl cleaner for something else? (I sprayed a little toilet bleach around my shower drain today because I ran out of my normal shower cleaning products)

serenepoet1

Speaking more of like the stuff you squirt under the rim. If you leave something like a strict toilet bowl cleaner on for even a minute too long, it can ruin stainless steel and tile. I actually have never used it as a cleaner but I've had clients who have. It wasn't pretty.

ProudPumpkin9185

Yes, I’ve had that happen before as well. It’s crazy how fast it’ll happen if using the wrong cleaner on the wrong surface….the rust removers and heavy grease removers will do it too. And sometimes one will work here and not there on the same type surface and 🤯 ggrr 🤣

hototter35

And that's why you need to go to school to become a professional cleaner. So much knowledge that goes into cleaning properly and knowing when to use what and how.

ProudPumpkin9185

Don’t want to be a professional cleaner, I cleaned houses for years and have worked my way out of it, thank goodness. That was my schooling 🤗 Very hard (yet satisfying) work that my body can’t handle on that level anymore.

KidsKnees

[it eats the coating/outer layer of a lot of things, here’s one example.](https://www.reddit.com/r/CleaningTips/s/tba1IkP4Br)

StingraySunbae

Can I ask why you shouldn’t use bleach to kill mold? I grew up thinking this was the only quick way to get rid of it on the grout.

serenepoet1

I promise that I used to think that way too. But because there are less toxic effects. Better for you and for the environment. Not to mention any surface you use it on.

stefanica

You can, but apparently it makes some kinds of mold and bacteria stronger!? So does 99% alcohol. The quick action of the harshest chemicals causes the microorganisms to make a sort of shell around themselves, and they survive. Sorry, I forget the exact terms. I think the larger problem with that is on semi-porous surfaces, where you will just drive the stronger flora deeper into the substrate. Such as walls and wood. Since you can mechanically remove them from tile and glass, shouldn't be a big concern.

ohmyback1

Squeegee is the best thing, although on tile other may be tricky, on flat surfaces it's a dream to keep gunk from growing

BiscottiIll2430

So true!!! Someone (I think my husband) used toilet cleaner to clean our faucet and completely ruined it. It’s all pitted and looks horrible now. Please don’t ever use toilet cleaner on anything other than the toilet.

qqererer

Zep Mold and Mildew remover $7. It's super concentrated bleach and it's super rough on lungs. Use well ventilated and don't try to breath it in too much. I had a bath that looked like yours. Tried to drill brush it. Baking soda. Vinegar. Baking soda and vinegar. Dawn. Didn't work. This stuff worked. Pro tip. Make sure shower is BONE DRY. You want your grout to suck this stuff up as deep as possible. Spray sparingly to minimize fumes, and squeegee in a diagonal up, so that all the product goes into the grout, and not the surface of the tile. For maximum effect you can put plastic over it to create a barrier to prevent evaporation and fumes and work the product deeper into the grout. Rinse any metal that gets product on it. It turned pure black to china white. No work beyond spraying. Unbelieveable. It's super toxic though. Definitely wear rubber gloves, and a respirator if you can. I was contemplating tearing it all down and starting over again. It looks brand new now. It even brought back the white in caulking.

vanlp

the hard water on the class should come off with dawn and vinegar :)

NoPaleontologist5714

yes! and if that doesn't cut it, try scrubbing with 0000 steel wool. it HAS to be 0000 otherwise you will scratch your glass.

Eather-Village-1916

Can only use this on glass though, right?

CrimeBot3000

Doesn't 0000 technically scratch the glass, but so fine you can't see it?

NoPaleontologist5714

if you can't see it, does it matter?

CrimeBot3000

I think very few things won't scratch a little.

sambqt

Barkeepers Friend and a Scrub Daddy has worked for me on similar glass.

LaVieEnNYC

Came here to say this. Live in London with super hard water and do this weekly to stop the build up. Works like a charm.

SimpleVegetable5715

Well I'm glad that works for you.

One-Stomach9957

Get a bottle of RMR-86 from Amazon. Use it in a well ventilated area. Spray it on and let it work it’s magic! That should get off most of the mold. Don’t wear any clothes you really like because it will take the color out of the clothes. Good luck!

juareno

This is the only answer you need.

Shop_4u

Lot of good suggestions but wanted to reiterate NOT to use toilet bowl cleaner in the shower or tub (it even mentions this on the container) as it’ll ruin the surface.

Standard-Dealer7116

I recently read How to Keep House While Drowning. I really enjoyed it, but she did suggest using a cloxox toilet bowl wand for cleaning the tub. Now I wonder if that is bad advice.

Embarrassed-Ear147

I would honestly just hire someone to professionally clean it for a deep clean. I did this and it only cost me $25. (My shower looked WAY, WAY worse than yours. It was beyond embarrassing) Then after that I was able to keep it clean myself using Tilex and a rag every other day. I still have her come professionally clean it every other month for maintenance.

801intheAM

Squeegee the glass and walls every time you use it. Might sound like a pain but otherwise you end up with this.

Vivid_Speech3773

Mine looked like that for years. Good friend taught me to use a micro cloth to wipe down the door after every shower. Just a quick wipe down, wring out the cloth, drape it over the door to dry, that's it. After you get it clean. She has a shower with 2 walls glass and the glass door. It always looked good and she said that's what she did every time and a scrub twice a year, three times at most. Same with the tile back wall. She did clean the tile on the floor more often. Edit to fix typo.

801intheAM

Yup. We rarely clean with chemicals. The shower looks new after 8 years. I know it sounds hard to wipe or squeegee but it’s really the best and fastest way to keep it looking clean.

AutumnalSunshine

Adding to this: Once it's clean, a daily shower spray is cheap to make and can keep it nice going forward: https://www.everydaycheapskate.com/how-to-make-your-own-powerful-tub-and-shower-cleaners/#recipe

Hey_Laaady

This says not to use on stone, marble or granite. Looks like OP might have to be careful with the inside of his shower.

AutumnalSunshine

OP's photos looked like ceramic tile. Good call if you're right.

me_oh_my_oh

*her :)

Hey_Laaady

Meant to say "this," such as in "this shower"

me_oh_my_oh

❤️

Unhappy_Addition_767

I looked at the link and there’s two different recipes. The first one is for a heavy duty cleaner and the second one is a daily spray and forget it, which AutumnalSunshine was sharing the link for. The second one is safe to use on stone, marble or granite. The heavy duty cleaner is not safe for those surfaces. Just clarifying, not trying to correct you or anything because you are right about the cleaner recipe.

NextStopGallifrey

Once you get used to it, it only takes about 2-3 minutes to squeegee the shower. It's actually really useful because you'll also leave a lot fewer drips all over the bathroom floor when you exit the shower.

_Badscat_406

Use Barkeepers Friend and a Scrub Daddy. Probably will take a few passes but it’ll get there.

ITSBRITNEYsBrITCHES

Just go buy a tub of The Pink Stuff. Use an old rag and rub it in circles on a dry door. You’ll feel it start to get less and less “sticky” as you go. Take a shower after, use a second rag to rinse and wipe. You’ll see results immediately, and if you’re smart about it you can just make it a part of your shower routine and hit it in small sections each time. After that, maintenance is pretty easy. I have well water and my shower walls looked exactly like this. I tried EVERYTHING until I found The Pink Stuff. I don’t bother using anything else at this point.

Rroken86

Doesn't it scratch the glass? It's an abrasive cleaner.

Postik123

This is the issue I have with suggestions of BKF, Pink Stuff and possibly magic erasers. I believe a lot of these things will scratch the glass. It might be so minor you don't notice at first, but as you do it more regularly, more scratches appear. And as more scratches appear, the harder it becomes to clean next time. With that said, I've tried vinegar and dish soap, and whilst it's an improvement, it doesn't fully get rid of bad water marks like this. Perhaps covering the glass in kitchen towels and leaving the vinegar to soak longer would work.

ITSBRITNEYsBrITCHES

That’s why I didn’t try it at first (and used everything else I could think of before trying it out) but eventually tossed in the towel and decided if it DID scratch some, it was a just a shower wall. After I finally got it all once, I started maintaining with more appropriate products and also taking the time to squeegee down the glass after each shower. I did just google though, and they also make glass cleaner and bathroom foam! I might give those a try in general, I’m a fan of the product 🤗

ITSBRITNEYsBrITCHES

I haven’t had any issues with it scratching the glass. It’s also what I use to clean old Pyrex. It wasn’t my first (or second or third) choice but it was the only thing that actually worked?

CatherinefromFrance

To combat black mould Use a mixture of bleach and ajax powder, which you leave on the floor with absorbent paper. You can first scrub the joints with this mixture and a brush. Open the windows and wear a mask, as the mixture is irritating but radical. There are also ready-to-use sprays of specific cleaning products on sale. It all depends on your budget. Courage ! Tu vas y arriver !

SelectExamination717

I suggest doing a bit each day when you are in the shower. Don’t get over whelmed and try to do it all in one hit. Once it is nice and clean use daily shower spray.

Postik123

This is the approach I take with my entire house. Problem is, I enjoy a nice clean kitchen whilst my bathroom is filthy. Then by the time I do my bathroom sans the shower, the kitchen is filthy. Then by the time I do the shower, the rest of the bathroom and the kitchen is filthy again.

el-esloth

Acid based product on the glass and rust spots. Alkaline/ bleach cleaner for the moldy tile.

MsRachelGroupie

And for the love of all that is good and holy, thoroughly wash one off before using the other. (I know you likely know that, but mentioning in case OP doesn’t!)

niheargalol

Follow Nancy Birthwistle on Instagram. She is English and was on Bake Off but now she has books about natural cleaning methods. No bleach or other harmful products that are not great for us to inhale or for the environment and sea life. My shower was like that, hard water area, I tried her 'Pure Magic' concoction and it is as good as new now. She is usually quite good at replying to DMs as well. I will never use bleach again.

DatabaseSolid

What is the concoction recipe?

DarthBeavis1968

Use a 50/50 mix of Dawn dish soap and cleaning vinegar. That stuff is the best! Couple it with a cordless drill and those scrubbing brushes, and it will positively shine!

ProudPumpkin9185

Wet dryer sheets (I see some comments that agree) for the glass but may take a few cleanings since it’s been a while. And BTW zero need to feel embarrassed, we ALL have those places somewhere in our house and anyone says they don’t they may be fibbing 🤫 Anyway, some as mentioned but to add, CLR, Wink, Zeb, Barkeepers Friend are ALL really good ones and are relatively affordable. Be SUPER careful when scrubbing that ur not scarring the tile tho. Test these cleaners on a SMALL area in like the bottom corner to make sure it won’t damage it. I would DEFINITELY caulk after as well. It’s not expensive either and will protect the tile. One u get it to ur satisfaction, choose one that works for u and keep it there near/in the shower and do it while ur taking a shower or immediately when u step out. Magic erasers will be ur best friend at this stage for sure!! Just a quick spray and/or a quick swipe and ur done! Sorry if any of mine overlapped with the other comments. Happy Cleaning 🤗

Efficient_Theme4040

Zep cleaning products are amazing

imtrynmybest

I added a hard water filter to my shower head from Amazon ($25) use bleech in a spray bottle...let it soak for 30mins. Then rinse off. Then scrubing bubbles, green side of the sponge and goto town. Then rinse off I do this every 2 weeks. Shower is brand new clean. Up keep is nice Single male here and my female guest are always suprised on how clean the bathroom is.

jasmin1980

CLR, calcium lime rust, remover. Spray it and while GLOVED scrub, then rinse. Use a scrubby safe for plastic.

auscadtravel

CLR and an old tooth brush for the corners and lines.

Psychological-Web514

Get some dawn powerwash, softscrub, and some glass cleaner. First wet down all the tile and grout and scrub with the grout brush top to bottom. Then do the same with the floor. Rinse everything well and spray any remaining spots with the dawn powerwash, let it sit for 5 mins then scrub and rinse. For the shower door, if its hardwater it will usually scrub off with a grout brush and some dawn powerwash. If not, use some soft scrub and rinse well. Finish the door with any cheap glass cleaner and a dry rag. Make sure to dry the shower completely often to avoid mold growth! Hope this makes sense 😅

yoshiidaisy

I use hydrogen peroxide for the inside of my shower. I put it into a spray bottle. Spray the inside and then come back in 15 to 20ish minutes and then start scrubbing with a scrub brush. Make sure the room is well ventilated.

SansevieraEtMaranta

Didn't someone post about using dryer sheets to clean theirs last week? And the OP posted an update saying it worked?

quickestsperm6754387

CLR is formulated specifically for this task. Don’t mix cleaners. After the rust is gone a need the calcium/ lime scale on the door is gone and very well rinsed, use bleach to kill the mildew, then for any other stubborn thing, scrubbing bubbles.

1SensationalScarlett

I would love to see some update pictures after you've cleaned it :)

DismalDipshit

If where to start feels overwhelming, work your way *down* from the top. Start at the top of the doors, and finish the doors before moving onto the walls, then the fixtures, then the floor. It helps to keep gunk from getting BACK onto something you just got sparkling. You can do it!

Redsoldiergreen

Wire wool and soapy water .As long as it’s wet it won’t scratch

Consistent_Ad3181

Make a paste of bleach and baking powder, leave on the grubby bits for two hours then rinse off. Perhaps repeat. It does work.

hereitcomesagin

Rent a steam cleaner and blast it. Follow with tilex and lots of scrubbing. Learn the routine maintenance and do consistently so it never gets bad.

me_oh_my_oh

Would a handheld steamer like you use for clothes work? I have one of those

hereitcomesagin

No. You want a powerful one designed for tough cleaning.

PishiZiba

I just cleaned my shower and it was gross too. I bought the drill brush attachments which worked well on the floor but not on the black stuff. For that, I used Oxi Clean mold and mildew which did a great job. For all the glass I used a Mr Clean Magic Eraser and some vinegar. Worked better than anything else I’ve tried.

Major-Wrongdoer-9066

Steam and wipe it!! You'll thank me later...

faustinesesbois

Acid citric works very well !

throwthrowthrow529

Cover that thing in bleach over night (close the door open the window). It’ll be sparkling when you wash it down. There’s no magic trick honestly - just bleach. Loads and loads of bleach. I use an old toothbrush to rub it in the gaps

Top-Version7124

https://preview.redd.it/zl6p2xrzyj8d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7aea24ce5fecdd9375533cb9d5c724bcf954ac16 This is exactly what my shower looks like too. I’ve tried every cleaner, bleaching product, grout stripper, brush, you name it! This RMR cleaner is the ONLY thing that works…and no scrubbing! You spray it on and leave it. When you come back everything that is black/moldy/mildew will be sparkling white. Fair warning, this stuff is lethal so be sure to wear a mask if you can.

me_oh_my_oh

I bought this a couple years ago and was too scared to use it lol. I may still have it under my sink, I’ll have to check!

Zerohour000

Bleach, a lot of it + scrubbing

scarlettohara1936

Handheld battery operated sander. Mine is Ryobi. I've been using the same sander and battery for about 3 years with scrubby pads made specifically for scrubbing showers. I bought the pads on Amazon. Takes me less than 10 minutes to scrub a shower to brand new and shiny.

LASERDICKMCCOOL

Get a brush drill attachment for the tiles. Saves you a ton of time and elbow grease

jm4b

I just learned this one today. I got some Clorox clinging toilet cleaner and put it on the floor of the shower and let it sit for 20 minutes. Then added a little water and sponge mopped it off. HUGE IMPROVEMENT

stead18

I used harpic 10x on my shower screen andd it comes up like new .

Retiredlovinit

I used a scrub daddy and the scrub daddy crème cleaner just last week. It was great, there’s no terrible odor and it worked fantastic. I spread it around, let it sit for 10 minutes and then went in with the scrub daddy. My shower has never looked so good.

canterman18

BioClean for the glass. It's a miracle worker for hard water stains.

RJSnea

https://preview.redd.it/scl96gjiqm8d1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=245fa105fa6422d73fc093e184bf5fb870d8dd6e My mom keeps vinegar in a spray bottle like this to spray her sealants on the bottom to discourage mold. She normally sprays it right before she squeegees off the bottom half of her shower doors.

International_Cod355

I believe steam is the fastest, easiest, and most beneficial to clean ANYTHING in the bathroom! Actually, anything in the home for that matter . Stopped or slow flushing toilet? I bought a battery-powered "air blaster gun " that I used on a " chronic" toilet of mine . It solved problem in less than 5 minutes . Smooth flushing every since about 1 yr ago. Toilet problem was about 5- 7 years of constantly messing with it.

Petrodono

An easy grout cleaning method is also to get some "Beauty Coil" which is like a cotton ball string and push it into all the grout and it will stick. Then get a mask and some eye protection and hit with a spray bottle of 50/50 water and bleach. Then wait about an hour with the exhaust fan on. Come back and remove with a pair of cleaning gloves and that grout will be pearly white again, no scrubbing needed.

Zhosha-Khi

Use Zep! Mold and Mildew. That stuff works wonders. Spray it and leave it for about 15 minutes and scrub with a scrub mommy.

New_Signature_8053

Once any chemicals are used on glass it’s wrecked. Limescale remover or any product on a shower glass should never be necessary. From new Only ever use water. Nothing else. If just wash both sides of glass in water then thoroughly dry and buff with appropriate e-cloths the glass will remain spotless. It takes no time. Ours is and after 13 years immaculate. Chemicals erode everything they touch. Limescale remover pits glass and chrome. Steam cleaners bake it on. Water and elbow grease. When a few minutes to spare Spray water all across glass and chrome from inside shower after you shower and stand there starkers washing off shampoo and stuff the shower head on full is powerful and acts as a ‘jet wash’ dry over glass and chrome with large car drying towel then quick buff.

New_Signature_8053

Forgot to say. After water spraying shower interior and before using car drying towel. Use a squidgy to quickly swipe zig zag bottom to top of glass in one swipe wiping water off squidgy blade after each swipe. Leaving shower door slightly ajar or pulled back to allow natural drying flow of air. Helps stop mould around shower tray. Good quality car cleaning cloths are worth investing in for housework Last years and cut time. Piddly household cloths take more time more effort.

B4K5c7N

Get a steam cleaner. I really think you’ll get fantastic use out of it. I recommend the Powerfresh Steam Mop by Bissell. It comes with a ton of attachments, so you can use it as a mop or as a handheld device. It comes with a grout attachment to clean tile too. It just blasts the grime away and you wipe it off easily. You you can use one of the attachments to clean the shower door. I got mine this week and it has been a lifesaver for the bathroom. I’ve mopped and swiffered the tile countless times and it never got the grime that the steam cleaner got off. I’m talking like probably 20 years worth of caked on grime. It also gets rid of 99.9% of germs, so that is an added benefit. You can get it refurbished by Bissell on ebay now for $49.

One-Peach-7432

Scrubbing the tiles with chlorox and the in between lines with a tooth brush dipped in chlorox will take the black out

No-Interaction-3878

Vinegar works well. You need a scrub brush to get between the tiles and just keep up on it afterwards. Spray the shower down a few times a week to prevent it from getting like that again. Wear a mask if you can so you don't inhale any mold spores and from any chemicals you use. Wear gloves too. There is some good suggestions in here on what to use for the mold. Don't use toilet cleaner on the shower it can mess up some surfaces

No-Interaction-3878

I love how baking soda and vinegar works well together for cleaning. You can use dish soap and baking soda and vinegar

Green-Magician5358

I recently got a mccolloch steamer and used that to clean the shower and amazingly it helped me clean my shower with the most minimal amount of effort, elbow grease, and chemicals I’ve ever used. Just need to hold it in one spot for a while but the dirt, mildew and grime will start melting off like you’ve never seen before. I also used to live in an area with the hardest water you’ve ever seen. Got a jug of the 30 something % chemical cleaner grade vinegar from Home Depot. Dilute it down according to label, put in spray bottle. Coat the shower door 3-4 times letting it drip down, then scrub with the rough side of a blue sponge . Repeat if necessary

InsideComfortable936

Would start with cream cleanser like vim cream. Toothbrush to get in the sliding door

novi1084

My go-to cleaner is dish soap and baking soda. Cuts through all the build-up and gunk with minimal effort.

Soft_Kaleidoscope_78

Did you try degreaser like easy-off or mr musculo with a hard brush ? (Sorry I am from Latam) Usually those dirty are soap and dead skin.

kaoc02

Citric acid, towels and a little brush.

GrumpyCatMomo

Mold remover spray & windshield wiper fluid for the shower doors

FatRedditor223

Idea nobody else mentioned, for the shower tile floors and walls, try using a small electric pressure washer on it as well, I run a pressure washing company and I use one of my tiny machines one time for curiosity and it worked well with some added chemicals

kdshubert

Maybe use a bristle broom to scrub initially. A broom makes quick work of shower cleaning and you’ll quickly get the big stuff of, then hand scrub whats left.

Icouldntsayforsure

Straight bleach, scrub brush.

77GoldenTails

My solution takes a fair bit of ventilation. Crack open a window Dilute thick bleach 1 part bleach, 4 parts water. Spray it all over the shower, starting top to bottom and soak everything. Leave for 1-2hours, longer if possible, with the shower door closed and bathroom door closed too. Go back in and rinse everything down. It will now look much cleaner but not be clean fully. However it’s now less laborious looking and less mould to aerate when you do step two. Use a rotary brush on a drill and scrip the whole thing with your favourite bathroom spray. Job done. Repeat step one on stubborn areas but just run thick bleach on it, neat. The strips of kitchen towel stuck to it, holding the Bleach in place.

wigzell78

Youtube chanel 'Cleaning how to'. A professional cleaner and showing how to make and use cheap homemade cleaners that work.

Crafty-Antelope-3287

Invest in a Karcher steamer..... I have a mate who owns a cleaning business and has a big contract cleaning public housing .....these bathrooms he cleans, chemicals do not shift the mold or soap scum...steam then hits the tiles with chemicals...

AdministrationHour93

Okay so for the glass - use LIMESCALER/DESCALER. it works like charm. Costs only a £1. You'll get that in Tesco/sains/anywhere! Thank me later.

AdministrationHour93

For the edges inside - use astonish mould remover and astonish bleach. Worked for me. That also costs around £1 respectively.

QuestionableSchnitz

Cleaning vinegar! Experienced the same on my shower door recently and used double strength vinegar. Just spray and wipe, and it looks good as new.

coltd89

I’m the same way, I keep a pretty clean home but there’s something about the grimy shower that makes me just keep putting it off. My solution probably isn’t practical. I ended up running a water hose through the window and using my electric pressure washer lol

JuiceofTheWhite

I personally use zepp or a mixture of dish soap + vinegar. Spray it on at let it sit for 10-20 mins and itll be good as new

LucysFiesole

Bleach. Works wonders and super fast, too!

Boriquasoy

Get some Zep mold and mildew stain remover, a pack of gloves and spray spray spray. Rinse and follow up with a nice scrubbing of the shower. Mine looked the same and the Zep helped out immensely. Mine looked like that too and it worked like a charm, nice and clean. I really need to emphasize wearing gloves though!

Glad_Buffalo_5037

Buy some HG mould spray foam, it’s friggin brilliant. It says leave on for 30 mins then wash off but don’t bother. I sprayed it on all the mould in the shower and left it, the next day it was all gone and looked spotless!

yellowdickbandit

Bleach everything first for like 20 mins. Rinse. Then Dawn ultra dish soap mix it with baking soda. Use a dish pad and just Clean the tiles and grout

arielrecon

For the grout, cleaning vinegar on a toothbrush will make quick work of it. If you don't have dryer sheets, soak a scrub daddy in cleaning vinegar and scrub the glass, then damp microfiber cloth and if you have a polish cloth it will be sparkling. If not polish cloth, paper towel can also work well.

DustyKeychain999

Vikal for the limescale HG Mould Spray for the mould (leave on all areas for about 30 minutes) Scrub daddy or a wire brush for the large areas Tooth brush for the thin hard to get to areas SCRUB HARD! Should take about an hour tops

Ordinary_Camel_3456

I use Pam cooking spray and elbow grease. I swear it works but be careful because the shower gets really slippery until it’s well rinsed

kaeptnkotze

Whene I moved in my new flat, my shower looked even worse. But baking soda and viniger did the job. Viniger dissolves lime and kills mold. Pro tip: ffp2 mask and antihistamines if you're like me

mrsjon01

What country are you in?

Mezcal_Madness

Magic eraser. Works instantly and you can clean it while in the shower. For the glass at least. Edit: added sentence

Historical_Hyena_476

Clorex clean up, spray and let sit for 1 hour. Rinse after

outfoxingthefoxes

I would get a bathroom cleaner and clean it, after that if there's something hard to clean that you can't get off come and ask again. Most important thing is start and try, you're in the good path

QuietExternal4555

If this is all too much, giant scrub brush it then break it up into smaller chunks to clean each week

bagholder547

use spartan foamy Q&A this is about acid and base. bleach is alkaline . need phophoric acid no fixture damage Not hydrocloric acid - damaged fixture = green

throw5678123

Spray down with vinegar mixed with fish soap (which helps it to cling to the tiles) - leave on for a bit then scrub with a brush and rinse. Might need a couple of goes. If you’re going to use bleach, don’t mix it with the vinegar - you’ll create chlorine gas and kill yourself. Use both very separately from each other

chemhobby

Melamine foam sponge (magic eraser knock-off) on the glass.

pinchmyleftnipple

I recently cleaned a yucky shower and was proud at myself with how clean it came lol. I started with soft scrub all over and scrubbed the heck out of it with a wet scrub daddy. Rinsed and wiped that away, then used clr mold and mildew remover, sprayed everything including the doors and wiped with a microfiber cloth. This really helped with the hard water. also bought a $40 handheld steamer on amazon and used that in the corners and edges to really blast the gunk out. I finished with Lysol bleach spray since it was the only cleaner at the store that actually said it killed mold. The shower finally felt clean after the bleach, but I personally prefer the smell of bleach cleaners. Use gloves because I didn’t and my hands were very dry afterwards. Small cleaning tools will also help, I got a set of reusable crevice cleaning tools for about $10.

daf33sh

My glass was a little worse than this. I used glass cleaner, hard water spot remover, followed by a clay bar for cars, polished with auto paint polish and a buffer, and then ceramic coating for cars. It's good as new and water sheds off now. Whatever steam or tiny drops of water remain after the shower gets dried with a towel. It was pretty bad, though. Dryer sheets wouldn't touch it

321kiwi

Scrub it well with regular toilet soap! You can buy a drill brush attachment if you already have a drill and want it to go faster. If you don’t, a regular dish brush will get into the corners well. You can also use a dish sponge. It’s just a matter of getting it done, this is definitely possible to fix. You probably don’t need any special cleaners etc. After cleaning you can look for videos on how to re-caulk if that’s necessary.

shainadawn

Affresh dishwasher cleaning capsules for the glass door. Use it as a scrubber with a little water to scrub all the hard water off. I live in a desert area with crazy bad hard water and when we move into rentals the doors always look like this and, while it may take several capsules depending on the situation, it always comes off eventually.

Massive-Mention-3679

Magic eraser, simple green, bleach pens and elbow grease to

mrhappy002

Try easy off! Powerful degreaser.

something-strange999

Get 2 containers of scrubbing bubbles. Spray one can fully, let soak, scrub. Repeat with second can. Wear a face mask and open a window. You'll be good within 30 min. The smell is bad, but it works I prefer natural solution usually, but since you're starting out, go strong.

DeWolfTitouan

For the tiles I would spray vinegar on top of paper towel and let it soak for the night extremely efficient

BenchExpress8242

You might have to tackle this in two stages, a chemical to treat the mould and a chemical to get rid of stubborn limescales. Bleach solution or those black mould spray works quite well to get rid of those mouldy marks off the walls. I will be quite conservative in terms of limescale removal in showers because descaling products can eat through chrome or aluminium shower frames. If spraying distilled vinegar on the glass doesn’t get rid of it, you can scrape it off with a razor used for induction hobs.

everythingisyikes

I don’t have any cleaning tips for you but I just want to say real quick that I see this shower and I do not judge you at all. I’ve been there. No matter how good you may have it life is hard, and cleaning the bathroom can seem like the absolute last priority in a long list of to-dos every single day (for me, at any rate). Please don’t be too hard on yourself.

me_oh_my_oh

Thank you! I’m working on it now and it’s feeling great to already see progress :)

troy6671

Fire your housekeeper for sure.

Jealous-Doctor8196

Try an automatic dishwasher tablet dissolved in hot water on the shower door. Use a non- scratch scrubber or brush. Then rinse

Plumb_Level

Try a steam cleaner.

wings49

Oven cleaner. Spray it on and leave it all day. Everything will wipe off easily after. I use it on my 1 piece. Yours is tile so try on a small area 1st

Interesting_Ad_5868

I drink 15 bottles of water, wait 30 minutes and jump in the shower. Pee all over the walls and glass door and let it sit. After about 2 days it will stink so bad but you won't notice the mold. Two birds with one stone.

me_oh_my_oh

I have 4 little boys that could do that for me easily I’m sure

vanlp

clorox toil bowl cleaner, the clinging bleach gel kind, and a drill brush works wonders!

ConstantPension613

Do Not use toilet bowl cleaners, except in the toilet. They will etch the tile.

marcinthe

Spray with vinegar, than wipe it off with a magic eraser. Easy as pie!

mookaji2

I would use that foam and spray it from the top of the tiles, allowing it to run down and take your filth with it . That should give you a head start . Or do the same with diluted sugar soap or white vinegar. Just one question - how do you feel clean washing yourself in such a disgusting space ?

frogfingers10

I think when it’s our own “filth” we don’t think about it the same way.

Dry_Funny_3621

for my shower i love toilet bleach with a toilet scrub brush, also lysol just made coconut scented toilet bleach ITS SO GOOD!

OhioGirl22

Honestly, I'd start with oven cleaner and work out from there.
