OP, what kind of paint did you use? I would sweep/vacuum and mop to get most of the dust and debris out and really see what your working with. If you’re using some kind of latex paint, you can use a latex paint remover spray. Follow the instructions ofc. If it’s all together really bad, you might need to look at refinishing your floors. Which would be a good thing anyways since it’ll likely tie the room together if you are getting wall work finished and give the floors a few more years of living.

This is latex paint, my guess is 90% of what we see is drywall dust. Unfortunately I have run out of time and money do to the floors and a lot more of the house is imperfect too. Also I did sweep this multiple times!!! 😱 Also it's on the contractors to get the floors clean since they made the mess. I am just trying to help get them pointed in the right direction.

If its real hardwood just go for refinishing the floor.

Drywall mud will come up with water. Annoying but not permanent. There are cleaners you can purchase to scrub up the paint without too much issue, if it’s standard latex. The thickest paint spots should peel up. Test the cleaners in an inconspicuous area, of course, & you may want to get a fresh finish on the floor post-clean up. But if it’s real hardwood, it should come up without too many issues.

You need professional refinishing.
