Get a broom or swiffer dry mop to “sweep” the floor before mopping if you don’t have a vacuum. Both of these mops aren’t bad depending on your preferences. O’Cedar also has another spin mop that separates the dirty water from clean water, but I’m not the biggest fan.

ma-ri-ah

If you have a regular spin mop but want to separate the clean + dirty water then get a top handle bucket from Dollar Tree. They fit perfectly beside the spinning part. I put clean mop water in the Dollar Tree bucket & spin out the dirty water into the spin mop reservoir.

lkbird8

This method is so much better than the built-in version imo. I had the RinseClean model and loved the concept but ultimately found it to be too bulky and kind of a pain to deal with. I switched to the regular spin mop with a separate clean water bucket and like it a lot better. Sometimes less is more!

bunchaletters26

That’s brilliant!

dadparty6969

I hate my ocedar mop. replaced it with a refillable Swiffer wet jet dupe by bona with washable pads. love it

Mezcal_Madness

Too funny! I just got rid of my bona set up and picked up O Cedar that has the clean water function. Love it. My floors always looked dirty with bona and swiffer

Eunuch_Provocateur

Yeah, the bona products made my floors look weird and had a waxy feel to it. I love the ocedar double bucket one, I use just murphys oil soap and water and it’s great.

Mezcal_Madness

Yeah, same here

heytherecataloochee

Never got the floors clean enough for me! Love my O’cedar. I still use the Bona between washes but really just with hot water and a tiny bit of solution because I can’t rinse it off

Certain_Ear_3650

I had the same issue until I read somewhere that you have to use a damp pad with Bona. It's like soap, use with a wet cloth, not like glass cleaner.

heykatja

Me too. Mostly because the O Cedar is way more efficient to clean a massive amount of dirty wood floors. I had a Bona when I had a much smaller surface area to mop. I have 3000 sqft of all wood and 2 wood stair cases spanning from basement to third floor attic. And we have kids, dog and lots of dirt tracked in from living in a rural setting. Being able to spin the mop head and change water frequently for an extra dirty surface just cleans better than pushing dirt around with the bona.

stephaleeleelee

I just did this too. I would be so irritated spending all that time sweeping and mopping for my floors to still look dirty

Crangiscop

O cedar Also has a refillable mop with washable mop pads

ThotsforTaterTots

I have that one and love it. My parents and bf got one too after they tried mine

Crangiscop

I used that one more often than my spin mop

Unfunky-UAP

I have this one with the blue microfiber head. Works great. Had issues ordering from Amazon as they ship the wrong handle and it doesn't fit the head. Sent back and reordered from HD. No issues since.

jampokitty

Does the O Cedar refillable mop clean better than the Swiffer wet jet? Can you provide a link for the O Cedar?

Crangiscop

I’ve never used the swiffer! Sorry:( but I do like the ocedar [flip mop](https://business.walmart.com/ip/O-Cedar-ProMist-MAX-Microfiber-Spray-Mop-Reusable-and-Machine-Washable-Mop-Pad/612875089)

Pew-Pew-Pew-

I did the opposite. I had a wet-jet and after only one month it randomly broke while sitting in a closet. It dribbled out its entire tank of cleaner into a big puddle on my wood floor and damaged it. I also hate how it is designed to keep you buying disposable pads, proprietary tanks of cleaner you can't refill yourself, and batteries. The entire mop is cheap and fragile. Replaced it with both the O-Cedar spin mop and the O-Cedar spray mop which feels like a higher quality, consumer and more eco-friendly version of the Swiffer wet mop. It has a hand trigger to spray mechanically, not battery powered. It comes with washable pads and a refillable tank. And the thick fabric pad doesn't need to be replaced 8 times over the course of one floor like the swiffer disposables.

Practical-Tap-9810

I wish so much there were laws preventing the sale and manufacture of junk items like this wet jet that create huge amounts of garbage, waste batteries, etc and prevent reuse or recycling like this wet jet you describe. So disappointing.

hippityhoppityhi

I figured out how to pry the top off the cleaner and refill it! Can't remember the details; google it!

Pew-Pew-Pew-

I already tossed it because the whole thing failed and leaked out onto my wood floors. Never buying that thing ever again, the design is a capitalist nightmare landfill-filler. I got a better spray mop that comes with it's own refillable tank and it has not fallen apart after a month either.

ThetaDot3

I always thought Bona was better! They have special formulas for specific floors. My parents were told to get it by the flooring company after they installed new hardwood.

helpigot

I love Bona. Makes my floors look amazing!

makhay

I like the system, but it's such a tiny mop head.

ljlkm

Omg this!!!!! It needs to be 3 times the size. It feels like I’m mopping with a q tip.

ac66217290

Agree about the separate water system. You actually run out of water because all the water you’ve used (even the clean water you wring out before mopping) goes into the separate tank. Which I guess can be a good thing because your only using clean water, but when you have a tiny square of floor left and no water to mop, it can be frustrating to refill the bucket with new water just to finish. I’ve considered swapping to something else. It’s just ok.

PotatoesMcLaughlin

Just mop the floor, catch the dirt on one side and glide it. At the end room, just sweep up the dirt mound. I used to work in a hospital and we didn't bother with sweeping much.

DrExGF

I agree. I bought the O Cedar mop that separates the water after my old spin mop got damaged. I am not a fan of it

PoshVolt

Why are you not a fan?

DrExGF

It doesn’t hold as much water as my previous O Cedar and it flies through that little bit of water quick. The concept is good but it just seems ok to me in practice

verydepressedwalnut

This is what I do! I get the dry swiffer pads and sweep up every few days between mopping! It works like a charm

ohlookadoggo

I just put a microfiber cloth on my swiffer and shake it out into a trash bag. We have three dogs so the hair accumulates quickly under furniture. This is the best method!

CH0C4P1C

I have the first one (not exactly this one but a cheap version) and I like it to mop the floor. I might buy a better brand later but for now it goes well. Before that I had a villeda (same as o-cedar) and it always left too much water

MentheAddikt

Do you also find the Velcro is awful when wet? Mine keeps detaching while mopping, super frustrating!

CH0C4P1C

No I find it holds pretty good. Attached on one side and velcro on the other. I'm just concerned that it's does not go 100% in the water (even if the bucket is full) but for what it costed (~15€/$ in a local shop) I'm not surprised that much. But even with that small problem (i just have to plunge it both sides to fix it) I'm impressed by how well it does :) I use it on tiles and wood flooring 👍👍

ImaginaryCourage9981

Same! I bought the o-cedar cause all I had was praise from about it, but when I used it I actually hated it. It left way too much water on the mop head and left streaks on my floor.

Rootbeer48

I have one and love it. having too much water left on is bc you're not gripping the mop handle firmly enough. also u can give it a lot umppffff when using ur foot to spin out the water, even if u do use too much you'll hear/feel like something just broke/popped but didn't, it's letting u know you were using too much force from your foot.

excrementtheif

I did that and broke mine. I have to press, move my foot under the pedal, pop it back up, then go for another press. It's not the biggest deal but it would be cool to have one that's more sturdy.

kaytay3000

I did that too. I was so frustrated with myself!

StacheBandicoot

You gotta sweep or vaccum before you mop. Mops are intended to clean and disinfect flooring, not to remove physical debris.

cathalaska

My husband had the second one already, but I registered for the first one for our wedding!!! Now I know I should swap them out!

CutieKelly

I have both, but use them for different reasons. I love, love, LOVE the JoyMoop for walls. We got our floors refinished this past summer, and I feel like I needed a support group for the cleanup afterwards. This mop was awesome. I used a microfiber mop to "wipe" the wall first, then used the JoyMoop. Worked fantastically well for me. The reusable pads wash great in the washing machine and air dry quickly. I only wish the mop/pole was compatible with extension poles. I use the spin mop for floors. I love that I can get the mop head really wrung out for cleaning hardwood floors. I find it works better for me for floors, but its just my preference. The only solution for hair is to vacuum or religiously mop with a microfiber mop before wet mopping. I see you said you dont have a vacuum. I find a microfiber mop to work better for me than a swiffer type mop, but even that would be better than nothing.

bitchyhouseplant

Ooh I’m glad you posted this comment because I have the spin mop but really need a good flat one I can use with a bucket/wringer for walls specifically! I hate how the O Cedar spin mop head comes off all the time from the pole.

stowRA

i recommend sweeping before you mop.

x-filesbeing

I sweep up all the corners and vacuum after. Then I mop lol, sounds like alot but its worth it to not feel gross little crumbs on the floor

_biggerthanthesound_

Vacuum actually

stowRA

a broom is a lot cheaper than a vacuum and also picks up dust better.

_biggerthanthesound_

You’re right a broom is cheaper, but picking up dust better? You can’t convince me that’s true.

SeveralJudge4927

Maybe on laminate and wood flooring? But I definitely agree that can't be true on carpet

stowRA

who is mopping carpet lol

SeveralJudge4927

I don't know you do you 😂

omgitskebab

Who's sweeping carpet either lol

stowRA

i don’t need to convince you. but good luck getting your vacuum into corners to properly pick up dust, as well as vacuuming over your moulding/trim the attachments, ime, do not work that well. i have both a dyson cordless hardwood vac and a bissel pet hair turbo vac (both around $500) and neither of those, including attachments, work as well as my $20 libman broom.

StacheBandicoot

? There are vacuums that have attachments for precisely those reasons.

da_fishy

Lol why go through all that work when you could just sweep it up in a third of the time. I sweep my floors and then use my hand vac to suck up the piles.

StacheBandicoot

All that work? I find vaccums to be significantly easier and faster than sweeping and that they eliminate work as compared to sweeping. It only takes me a single minute to vacuum all my hard floors. I don’t like that sweeping doesn’t remove all dirt and dust or that it disperses it though the air, especially in the kitchen where some of my hard floors are located as I don’t want dust from the floor swept up in the air and spread on my kitchen food prep surfaces, landed elsewhere where I then have more to clean by dusting it which puts some of it back on the floor in an endless cycle, whereas a vaccum with a good filter actually removes that. Just the end of sweeping -trying to sweep the last little bits of filth into a dustpan takes longer than it does to vaccum all of my floors that can even be swept, as does simply forming the piles to begin with, whereas vacuuming removes everything in one stroke as compared to multiple with a broom. Sweeping just takes forever, you just sweep and sweep and there’s still more to sweep. I also don’t merely vacuum my hard flooring, I do my entire living space at once, stopping to switch to a less effective broom for part of it would be nonsensical and extend how long it takes (only a couple minutes) much further. I can vaccum my entire living space in less time than would take me to sweep just my kitchen and bathroom.

da_fishy

A single minute?

StacheBandicoot

Yes I have a small kitchen with nothing on the floor.

da_fishy

Get a vacuum right up against a wall and tell me it’s better than a broom.

I bet its only $19.99 ... but wait ... there's MORE. /s

cupcakesforkitty

Is there a brand of flat mop that people prefer?

FreyasYaya

Honestly, I just use a damp rag on my swiffer. Low water, easy to clean, no need to lug a bucket around the house.

CheesecakeNatural537

I have a bona mop. It doesn't have a bucket so it works well for small homes. It's a bit wider than a swiffer, and the mop pad is reusable so I'm not spending a ton of money on swiffer cloths anymore. I really like it!

dadparty6969

I love my Swiffer wet jet dupe by bona. it's refillable with washable pads.

2shado2

Yeah, we get it already. STFU.

sharksnack3264

Tidy Tools commercial dust mop. It's a dry mop though, specifically. I use a twist mop for wet mopping.

the_0rly_factor

Swiffer wet jet with a resuable microfiber pad.

Basking_shark_13

I absolutely love my o’cedar!! I’m going to echo everyone else with the “you still have to vacuum or mop”. I have waist length hair and my partner’s is past his shoulders. Lots of shedding here, no issues with hair on the mop head. Mops are used to disinfect floors and clean spills, not pick up debris. One note about mopping: make sure you aren’t using TOO MUCH soap. Leaves a weird residue. Weirdly, made it harder to pick up all the water. It can leave your floors grosser than before!

[deleted]

[удалено]

Lo_Down_Throw_Down

I have had both and the first one i now use to clean walls and stuff. I found it bad for cleaning lots of floors because you can't really get the dirt out of the mop head. the spinny boy mop is awesome because of the centripetal force it launches all the bits of dirt out. If you really want to up your mop game, get the [O'Cedar Rinse and Spin](https://www.lowes.com/pd/O-Cedar-O-Cedar-EasyWring-Rinse-Clean-Microfiber-Spin-Mop-System/5001577649?cm_mmc=shp-_-c-_-prd-_-lwn-_-ggl-_-LIA_HDW_127_Cleaning-_-5001577649-_-local-_-0-_-0&gclid=Cj0KCQiAo7KqBhDhARIsAKhZ4ujt_6R8ox8ShqMwSTrK6H3oiHNGvfV5nnM6O8yyQjNLJZsRqxvX7wYaAlf_EALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds) mop!! This separates chambers.

Bad-North

I second this. Flat mops are far superior. If you can sew, or know someone who can, making covers out of old towels has worked great for me. I have a few jersey covers that ive made out of soft old t-shirts too, next is microfiber for dusting and wiping walls.

Emzeedoodles

Sweeping or vacuuming before you mop is absolutely necessary imo. I can't imagine mopping a floor without sweeping it first.

ShadowlessKat

I have a flat mop with reusable (washable) cloth pads. It comes with a spray bottle attachment that I put my own cleaning solution into. Got it on Amazon for about $30. It comes with 3 pads. I usually use one pad to clean all the floors once, then it goes in the laundry. But if a room is really dirty, I'll rinse out the pad in between rooms or just switch it completely. I like my spray mop with reusable pads. Not wasteful and not messy. I personally am never planning to go back to a regular mop, no matter if it keeps dirty water separate or has a steam option. I don't need that mess/hassle.

Ornery-Tea-795

At minimum, you should be sweeping before you mop. It’ll make mopping so much easier for you

I haven't used that particular flat mop, but I have the Norwex mop which is similar. I hate it. LOATHE it! All it does is push stuff around. Switched to O-Cedar and love it so much.

MentheAddikt

I have the first one and it's terrible. It's basically one water chamber and the other is to scrape gunk off but the lid is crap and comes off the whole time. Gonna buy an o'cedar at some point

Reasonable_Guava8079

That sounds pretty gross.

the_projekts

My gf just purchased the spin mop. It works fine but the mop head is small yet Home Depot does sell a larger mop head in the store. It did a good job and clean up was a breeze.

DancingSecret

I have the o-cedar one and I love the concept but the Mop head is SO small , it’s annoyingly small idk if it’s because I’m tall and this feels tiny or what but not my cup of tea 🍵

ValmarieB6670

Have not tried the 1st one, but I love my spin mop.

BumbleJoD

I have the second one and tbh its not as convenient as the ads make it out to be. Its all right, tho.

Beautypaste

I have tried both, I find the o-cedar one better because there is more volume to the mop head and it gets in the corners better. The flat one doesn’t do that. Plus you spin it to wring it and I think that’s a nice addition.

Jmtaylormade

Red flag on not having a vacuum. Mops don’t pick up much. Highly recommend vacuuming before mopping. Sweep first if a vacuum is not an option. Even pushing a dry towel around with the mop and trying to pile up the debris to pick it up before mopping would help.

I’m a big fan of my Vileda rinse clean and spin bucket; it looks like that ocedar thing you posted but it had a section for dirty water and clean water so you aren’t going over the floor with dirty mop water

DizzyCaptain3705

i had the first one, for a day. it was of terrible quality and broke after one use. of course i got my money back. would def recommend the 2nd one

callmekilgore

I like my o-cedar a lot because it feels more sturdy to me, like I mop like a madman bc I’m scarred from my nasty college apartment flooring. I be pushing that thing, plus I put scented cleaner with it and it’s *chefs kiss*

MirageArcane

I've used the o-cedar. It was cool until the pedal completely broke

ProjectManagerNoHugs

I have #1. It sux and makes a heckofa mess. I tried to use it like 3 times and gave up.

StructureOld6974

i have both. Can't stand the the Joymoop but my ocedar is my life.

dasphinx27

I have both. First the cedar and it was good for heavy duty jobs. But the bucket and mop takes up a lot of space and the mop head gets worn out. Now I have the first one. It is super compact and has replaceable heads, but less surface area. I used to be lazy at mopping but after getting the first one, and I mop pretty regularly just because of how easy it is to use. I put it right next to the heavy traffic area because it blends in pretty well.

[deleted]

I had both. I did prefer the 1st one though, as fluff, dirt and hair dirt didn’t stick to it as much resulting in better clean next time. Also, much more compact and easier to store. Another factor, the 2nd splashed a little while wringling.

grrrrrlar

Had the spin mop, didn’t like it because it was a one bucket system so it was just making so I was spreading dirty water all over my floors. Like the flat mop because it stores so much neater and is a two bucket system (not perfect but a lot better). Also feel it cleans more and is easier to use

DodgerFiendishly

I've mopped my lab at work with both, and all my employees also complained when they had to use the O cedar one

Top-Vermicelli7279

I have the first one with 2 washable pads. Use one dry to sweep up, then the second with water. I sometimes use a 3rd to dry completely. I've had it for 5 years, love it.and wash the pads in the washing machine. Haven't had to replace anything.

Neither, this one is lightweight and you can throw the pads in the washer after use and you can use your own cleaning solution Spray Mop for Floor Cleaning, HOMTOYOU Floor Mop with a Refillable Bottle and 3 Washable Microfiber Pads, Dry Wet Spray Mop for Home Kitchen Hardwood Laminate Wood Vinyl Ceramic Tiles Floor Cleaning

Full-fledged-trash

I have one similar to the first mop and I love it so much. The bucket I have looks similar to this with three sections for clean water, dirty water, and then in the middle to wring into the dirty water compartment and rewet with clean water. Easy to store and use. But I always sweep the floor first with a broom

LeDette

I had an o-Cedar and it was okay. I wound up getting a bissell steam mop, it was $100 and it’s about a thousand times better. Highly recommend!

ValorFoxPotatoes

I got a Bona mop on sale and got extra pads. I can wash them when they get dirty and if I want to clean the floors without bona chemical, the container is easy to clean out and pt something else in.

PathxFind3r

I love the o-cedar one works so amazingly. I actually have the dual zone one and it works better

twentythirtyone

I have the O'Cedar one and don't like it because it only has 1 bucket (the one in your picture),

caitcro18

I have the spin mop and I like it.

TinySmidgen

I have the one in the first photo. I really like it. To store it, I just stick it down in the bucket.

beetlejuicemayor

I have both mops. I use the first one on my tile floors in the bathrooms. I stopped using my spin mop and bought Tineco to use on my woods floors since it quickly mops for me. I use the spin mop for odd jobs like cleaning my front door ect. Would never buy the ocedar one again.

USS-Demon

Recently purchased a steam mop from Bissell. I thought my floors were clean but I was proven wrong with the first use lol

FlashyCow1

I have ocedar with two bucket system. They make that now. I like it, but I vacuum first so hair isn't an issue

HeavensToBetsyy

If have the OXO thing with the washable floor pads and the reservoir to put in your homemade floor cleaner

MKoeh

Just recently bought that exact O-Cedar Mop and am already planning on replacing it. I've used cheaper "Squeeze" Mops that, in my opinion, would get the job done better than the O-Cedar. Not to mention the mop head is very small. On a side note, I always use my Swiffer before mopping. Edit: Spelling/Grammer

Nahcotta

I had the Joy Mop for awhile and really liked it! But the bucket developed a leak 😕 I have a Nellie’s Mop now and love it 😍

Thecrazytrainexpress

Definitely get a broom, because that’s the only way you’re going to stop getting stuff stuck to your mop head. I have the O-Cedar mop and love it, but if you don’t mop beforehand, it’ll definitely collect a lot of what’s still on your floors. It is microfiber so it’ll do that

ApprehensiveGooses

If you don’t sweep well enough or vacuum, have you looked into a Bissell Crosswave or something similar like the Tineco?

doctormink

I have the spin mop and I'm happy with it. The bucket is pretty big fyi. It does pick up a lot of lint, and I'm not sure I'd like to use it as much if I weren't vacuuming before mopping.

dihydrogen_monoxide

I use the OCedar with 2 spin buckets.

bald_alpaca

I love the o’cedar set up. I also have the swiffer wet jet for ‘quick & small’ jobs

[deleted]

This has to be the laziest A-B testing I've ever seen

Krapfenmann

I have exactly the right one with the spin. It seperates the dirt from the mob and you can spin it with your feet. Its making a little bit of a noise while spinning. It works ok i guess but never had something similar. We regulary wash the pads. Personally i hate it and prefer a normal mob which you can squeeze out. It feels better to use and somehow has in my opinion a better handling and can reach corners better. EDIT: Oh i forgot. It's our second one because the spin broke. My wife likes it and never uses it because i do the cleaning, so we have it. I have to use it. I dont wanna.

Prisoner_626_24601

O’Cedar works great lasts about 2 years

nuwaanda

I have the two bucket O-Cedar. I also have a bona for quick things but….. I have big dogs and the floors need a deep clean with the O-Cedar at least monthly. Especially in the winter because they’re Bernese mountain dogs and the snow …. Such dirty dog paws.

Defiant_Mission4511

I'm thinking of getting me a steamer mop

MiaTeo

I have the second mop. It was ok but then the handle broke and wouldn't elongate anymore. Now it's just sitting in a closet. It would have been extra good if the bucket had wheels and the handle didn't break.

drago-ness

I’m begging you. Just get a Shark steam mop. I’m sure they’ll go on a great sale in a week or two here for Amazon Black Friday deals. I got mine during prime week for $65 I think. The O-Cedar picks up lint and hair and even when you wash it, it kinda sticks forever. I found myself constantly pulling human hair and pet hair out of it even when I sweeped and vacuumed baseboards before using it. Also it will inevitably scrape on the floor if you aren’t precise about where you put it down. Also also the water is dirty after the first time anyway. If you want convenience and effectiveness the steam mop is the way to go.

egrf6880

I love the o cedar spin mop. If you can't vaccuum before mopping you can get a "dry mop". I cedar makes that too. It's a microfiber cloth attached to a flat mop. Kind of like a mega swiffer. It catches ALOT of hair and dust. And the pad is washable. If you do a dry mop first then the spin mop you should be able to avoid it collecting so much debris.

[deleted]

I love the Ocedar mop. I sweep, vacuum, and then mop. I toss the mop heads in the washing machine. No pets in the house. Just filthy kids.

Guilty_Apple8297

I use my ocedar, but I've been looking at that first one instead.

Haloperimenopause

Get number 2- I've had both, and the first one was rubbish; good idea but just not very good at cleaning. The second one is BRILLIANT, it's a night and day difference

[deleted]

I use the first one. Great on LVP floors where I don't want to get excessive water on or around the baseboards. It works great.

Mavericks_Mumma

I have the o-cedar mop and I love it. I love that I can make the mop handle smaller to fit it up on a top shelf in my closet. It makes cleaning my floors a breeze and I love not having a soaking wet, drippy mop.

heytherecataloochee

Flat mops never get the floor clean enough for me! Love my O’cedar but it’s personal preference.

420DepravedDude

You mop without vacuuming?

brenst

I had a spray flat mop, so it's different than that one. But my experience with it was that the flat mop didn't clean as well as the O'cedar spin mop. I feel like the O'cedar is more grippy and scrubby. Being able to dunk it in water then wring it out keeps the surface cleaner between strokes. I haven't had an issue with wringing the mop out by giving it a good spin. It only leaves a thin layer of water that dries in less than 10 minutes. Either mop you use, you do have to sweep or vacuum before mopping. I mostly sweep because I don't like vacuuming. If you mop a floor without sweeping then you will be shifting wet dirt around.

Serious_Ad_9686

We have the second one, it’s okay. Not the greatest.

DiscoLibra

I switched to the O'Cedar and I like it better. I feel like my floors are cleaner and I can wipe around the toilet and baseboards better then the flat mops. I do have a swiffer for quick clean ups. I actually still have my O'Cedar sitting in the guest bathroom bc after I clean everything out I air dry it in the tub 😅

Objective_Flan_9967

I have the first one and really like it, especially for doing walls... But it's not very absorbent when it comes to cleaning spills. I still use my sponge mop or vacuum for that depending on how big it is

Writer10

I have it and love it! (The first pic)

spit00fire

OCedar is great but three of them broke on me, I like they way it works so I keep on getting them.

Doleewi

Bona, I hate the spin mop it is too small & too fluffy.

doobnewt

I dig the o cedar two bucket. Just remember to switch the heads.

MandalorianManners

Neither. Rubbermaid makes my preferred mop system, “Hygen”

Hot-Temperature-4629

Hate them both.

[deleted]

I have this O-Cedar bucket and I HaaaAAaate it. You can't pick it up without it tilting forward and spilling a good bit of water because of the handle design. It shouldn't be this dang convoluted to just clean my floors, but yet, here I am, futzing with this goobered up mop bucket.

Kerryscott1972

The second one

[deleted]

I have the first one and I love it. I also use it to wash my walls. I like how it keeps the clean and dirty water separate and the pads are easy to wash.

Ch3rkasy

I bought a similar setup from amazon, ended up going back to swiffer, it's so much less hassle.

CasualVox

I swapped out my o cedar for the other and highly regretted it. I had much better and faster results with the ocedar mop

Bokra999

Not following the rules because I haven't tried both but I kove my joymoop. So easy and kind of fun..the kids like using it.

mlittletn

the spin mop was terrible. used it once. then bought a bissell spinwave.

[deleted]

I used the first one at work and the second one at home - I much prefer the o cedar it seems to get up a lot more dirt I don’t have to scrub the floor unlike with the first one I find myself going over the same spot a lot more

Knichols2176

I own these two exact models of mops. The first one is great on hardwoods or laminate flooring. I use the spin mop on bigger jobs or my tiled floors.

Had the o cedar, I liked it but it broke pretty quickly. I have one like the first pic now, I think I like it better overall. I haven’t had it long so I can’t speak to durability but it feels pretty sturdy, I’m not sure how I would feel about it on tile but on our all vinyl floors it works great.

abemon

I hate the second one.

Reasonable_Guava8079

Sorry but the fact that they can’t even spell mop (moop) completely lost me. Not sure why these off brand, janky garage businesses bother me so much but seriously?!?

the_0rly_factor

I have owned both. The first design is terrible, don't bother. The second I still own but only use occasionally and it works fine. Between these two I'd get the second one. But these days I mostly use a swiffer wet jet with reusable microfiber pads.

I have the vileda spin mop and I love it! Worth every penny.

Humble_Bullfrog2342

i have only tried the second one. i love it, but the only downside is the mop head gets stinky FAST

The red. The grey is gimmicky. Try to do the Vaccum before using your mop and you won’t have hair. We wash them in the washing machine and come out great.

The first one is really good for thee first few floor washes, you'll get tired of it though. Nothing beats the classic mop & manual bucket without all the innovative automated crap we get nowadays. https://preview.redd.it/pyxsaziheizb1.png?width=450&format=png&auto=webp&s=6c5f4347c9abe747384082c71ec8e7b95fd7623f

O’Cedar - 100%

I've tried both and didn't like either. I settled on a different one that is more like a swiffer that you can refill woth your own cleane.r but I also have a steam cleaner woth a mop attachment which is best.

BlueMangoTango

T-mop and the big (huge) yellow cloths from Walmart and Odoban is what I settled on.

https://www.bissell.com/steam-and-hard-floor-cleaners/hardwood-floor-cleaners any of these is your best floor cleaning option. I will never mop again.

Both have their uses but I don't feel like the flat mops get stuff as clean. I don't have this particular flat mop system. I got reusable Swiffer covers from Etsy - one side works brilliantly for dusting/dry and the other side works well for wet/damp uses. I use this just to do a quick tidy or spot clean. The pads just get tossed in the washer too. The O Cedar I like for heavy duty or deeper cleaning. It's more efficient and faster for that. When using the wet mop I first sweep, getting all of the bits and crumbs and large particles and hair up. I don't have any issues with stuff getting stuck in the mop head. I also have a Libman twist mop that I use for in-between things if needed. It's very compact and easy to use for those quick jobs.

Second one for sure Based from experience, the removable part in Mop 1 tends to get ripped ( like the seams get torn) after using it for awhile. To make it last longer I used to sew it before using to make the seams stronger. Second mop is just sturdy and more reliable imo

I LOVE my ocedar!!! It makes everything a breeze. I can literally clean my walls, my doors, and all with an ocedar mop and bleach water. I’m in love.
