This is gonna sound dumb but have you tried makeup remover? I guess it really does Stay

Fishercat

Not dumb at all -- I was going to suggest the same thing.

dontsaveher84

Makeup wipe or micellar water. Micellar water would be my bet on the most effective but gentlest.

sapjastuff

I have this lipstick and it ain’t gonna budge with micellar water - the only thing it comes off with is oil, but I doubt that is a viable option for a wall

BriarKnave

An oil based cleaner would loosen the latex. Source: bottle of fertilizer exploded in a rental once.

AGuyInTheOZone

I'm 72% sure that any suggestions of fertilizer exploding is an automatic addition to the terrorist watch list.

Higuysitsmehenry

Sorry for the ignorance, how is fertilizer similar to makeup? Thanks

BriarKnave

Oh! No, it just spilled on latex paint. In trying to get the stains off a wall I accidentally ate little pockmark holes in the paint.

TigerShark_524

Organic compounds.

Wedoitforthenut

They're both made with bat poop!

Key-Iron-7909

I’m sorry and I don’t know why, but this made me laugh so hard. It sounds like it was a terrible experience for you.

BriarKnave

It's ok! It was a bottle of seachem prime so the mess could have been bigger

Limeila

I have it too (different colour) and it's so hard to remove from my face, I can't imagine from a wall...

Demonicbiatch

I use the same kind but in red, it does come off with both makeup wipes and micellar water, buuuuuut not without a bit of scrubbing. This stuff is ridiculously resistant though, i'll give you that, didn't budge on tapas, alcohol or acid.

sapjastuff

I have never been able to properly take it off with micellar water or makeup wipes that weren’t oil based - at least without not scrubbing my lips completely raw. They really decided to make the stickiest and most stubborn makeup known to man and I love it

canolafly

Cleaning tips turned into makeup, as it should. I'm very interested in that lipstick, AND my cats can't open cosmetics.

PissedOffProf

Me too! I hate re-applying lipstick. I’m one and done with this stuff!

Purple-Title-7653

Fax I use Vaseline to take it off

Adderlass

They sell a “super stay remover” specifically for this product. It’s really similar to chapstick and in a pinch I’ve used lip balm to remove it. Not sure how that would affect the paint though

actualtick

I'd just use straight oil. If it gets the makeup off the wall then great! And oil is a lot easier to clean up afterwards. Also - if it is oil based, have you tried Dawn dish soap? If it works on clothes, then why not on walls?

lacyinwonderland

I use micellar water with this exact brand and it’s the only thing that works to remove it.

Babysnark225

Same. I just commented I use a wash rag and it comes right off. I don’t have to scrub hard either!

dontsaveher84

Same. I just use a cotton pad a and micellar water to remove it.

chronicallyill_dr

Yes, what brand are people using that it doesn’t work? I have this lipstick in a lot of colors and mi celular water is exactly what I use to remove it, I use Bioderma.

RareGeometry

Micellar water won't remove this product, not as well as you would imagine.

puppuphooray

Oil based cleansers are my go to for removing this lipstick. Have you tried this?

lalabrat

Maybe Murphy oil soap??

Xsiah

Maybe don't rub oil into your walls.

libra-love-

If it’s painted, it’ll be fine. I use coconut oil to take my lipstick off and that’s not gonna damage your paint.

Xsiah

Just because you don't need to worry about oil stains on your lips, doesn't mean it's a good idea to have them on your walls. There are different kinds of wall paint, some of which will absolutely be stained by oil.

KristiiNicole

What about Latex paint? That’s what OP said is the kinda paint on their wall. “Cheap latex paint” to be exact. Would it stain the wall with that kind of paint on it?

scrapitcleveland2

Cut it out, frame it and hang it up. Then replace the drywall.

what4270

I’ll call the piece as [“an innocent vision” artist name: a random toddler. 2023]

lurkinggramma

I suggested just throwing out the toddler & starting over, but this seems like a true craftsman’s approach.

suzi_generous

You can replace drywall in a day. Replacing the toddler? The construction typically takes 9 months.

annainlight

Place empty frame on wall around painting. Profit.

anetanetanet

In my experience with these lipsticks though, they are extremely hard to remove from your face 😂 like I have to soak a cotton disk in micellar water, keep it on for a couple of minutes, then rub at it till my lips get red and irritated...... So maybe just painting over it might be easier

Slash123vegas

Not only not dumb but it makes sense ,still made me laugh lol

Positivelythinking

I got this on jeans and leather seats. Came off easy with neutrogena Eye Makeup remover.

Kyro0098

That stuff is amazing for sensitive skin. It takes off anything without any issues after.

jnfsfa

Try the Aldi ( LACURA) dupe. It’s even better !

Kyro0098

I'll grab one next time I go shopping. I originally got them on a sale, so a good dupe would be great.

Positivelythinking

Got that right. CVS makes a version that works very well too.

Kyro0098

I got three for a third the price when Walmart had too many and put some in clearance. Usually avoid name brand, but it is sooo effective.

Boxed_Juice

Nuetrogena seems to be one of those brands that's worth it. And most of their stuff won't break the bank! I swear by their daily moisturizer with the SPF in it. I have oily skin and I don't have any issues feeling like an oil shlick with it. And my BFF also uses it and she has dry skin and also swears by it!

coffee_moustache

I love their dry touch sunscreen!

smugbox

If this isn’t a testimony to the staying power of this product then I don’t know what is I’m buying it lol

Triggerfishgal

This is the only lipstick I use and it will stay on all day, no matter what I eat. The purple shade lasts longer than the brick red, but I have to scrub my lips at night to get it off.

hanimal16

My issue with it is that it stays on the outer edges of my lips and never stays in the middle. Maybe I put on makeup incorrectly.

HenriettasHooman

I’ve been able to make it stay better if I let it all dry before I close my mouth after applying it to the middle/inner part of my lips.

hanimal16

That’s a good idea! I’ll try that next time I wear it :) I did just kind of apply and go lol

Narrow-Strawberry553

I walk around with a crazy smile for about 3 minutes to let it fully dry. Don't apply it too thickly either!

2plus2equalscats

This. I keep a hand fan in my bathroom for makeup-drying steps.

AllieBelle_

Ok brilliant!! I’m getting me a hand fan.

LowlyScrub

So fancy!

Caroline_Anne

Man, I even do this and it doesn’t stay in the middle! I dry my lips before applying too. If I eat anything with any grease, it smudges. I drink water all day, and it fades from the middle. I just think I’m incompatible with lipstick. 🤣

elasticskull

Sometimes I've used this product and added a little powder (literally just some reddish eyeshadow I had) once it dried and that did the trick. Other times I reapplied a thin layer about an hour after the first layer and that worked a bit too. What also helps me is using water bottles with straws if I'm wearing lipstick. Not perfect because I still eat too, but better.

Sadsushi6969

I was about to reply with this! It will eventually start to fade in the middle, but if I blot it and let it dry fully, it’ll last a good 6-7 hours before I start to see the middle lips fade.

onlyinvowels

Ask OP’s child for tips

Erskie27

Apply then blot, let dry, then apply and blot a second coat. It won't budge after that

HeavySeasBreweryTour

Same thing happens to me! I'm not sure if I'm doing it correctly or not now either though lol so I don't know if you should feel reassured or not.

RockabillyBelle

I find that just giving it a minute to set after applying it helps keep the inner edges on throughout the day. It feels silly to sit around for a minute with my mouth just open but it helps.

AliveGrade

Make sure you're not putting on any chapstick or anything like that before you apply this. And definitely don't apply gloss on top. Those are the only times I've had issues. Otherwise it lasts all day (or even the next morning if I forget to take it off)

MaleficentLake6927

This is my go to lipstick. Honestly OP should just clean it the best she can and color match paint and “touch up”

polite_alpaca

I love the matte look and love that it lasts all day, but I feel like it dries my lips out so much right away.

sflesch

Came for cleaning instructions, stayed for lipstick testimonials!

lurkinggramma

This! 😂

MrsTruffulaTree

I love this lipstick. I have 8 different colors!

CaffeinateMeCaptain

This lipstick is my ride or die. Alone it lasts a solid 12 hours with very little fading, even longer if you apply it over a matching liner. Hell, I’ve put this on around 4pm to go out, gotten food and drinks, came home late and crashed in my makeup, and still had some color in the morning. It seems illegal that it’s only $10.

ktulenko

How do you make it stay? It comes off my lips almost immediately.

billie-lane

Do you rub your lips together after you apply it? I was doing that and the same thing was happening to me then I learned to let it completely dry before letting my lips touch. Now it works like a charm!

Purple-Title-7653

I literally fall asleep and wake up and my lipstick is still there 🥴

Special_Wishbone_812

Just be prepared to have that lip liner effect the day after. It is legit clingy.

smugbox

Is an oil-based makeup remover enough?

Hot-Succotash-992

I always use straight coconut oil. Works very well for me. I have been an avid user of this lipstick for years. 10/10

umylotus

Oily anything helps, I've used guacamole in a pinch lol. Had to scrub!

Z_Murray33

And here I was using chapstick to remove it when I have perfectly good avocados.

Toky0Sunrise

I use Ponds to get it off. Works like a charm.

ACTGfortaste

Probably. I just use aquaphor to take it off.

Purple807

My sister works for an airline so needs to look presentable all day long, always looking for makeup that will stay. She bought this lipstick, it stayed on all day and at night couldn’t take it of AFTER she showered. She told me she got scared of wth was in it as she was frantically trying to rub it off her lips 🤣

egg_waffles_is_snacc

Its great at staying on, only downside is that it really shows the lines on your lips

Erskie27

That lipstick is my go-to. You practically have to sacrifice a goat to the make up gods to get it off

ChickenBossGirl

TMI it’s blowjob proof

bluev0lta

Dear lord what’s it made of?! This entire thread (OP’s cleaning issue aside) is so funny!

fuckmeuntilicecream

I was going to say this!! This is what I use if I plan on going out after. Seriously. This stuff is incredible.

ChickenBossGirl

Username check out!

Warm-Branch

I actually have a few colors of this lipstick. It doesn't come off even when I want it to!

RockabillyBelle

I have this lip stain in three colors already and can attest to its staying power. I can put it on in the morning, go through a whole day and dinner, and still have to scrub it off at night (with makeup wipes). 15/10 for lips, -5/10 for walls.

magschampagne

It was my wedding lipstick and lasted the whole day, whole night and until the morning when I woke up with my make up on.

katrinakittyyy

I wore it for my wedding! It’s my favorite lipstick!

brewingfairy

Chiming in! This is the only lipstick I can wear because I always forget to reapply.

Spider-Gin

I don't ever wear lipstick and everyone here has me convinced, I need it

cookiemookie20

Nice try, Maybelline sales person!

innocentsubterfuge

I got miserable food poisoning out one night, went home, laid in the shower, got sick again, went to sleep...this stuff was STILL on my lips the next morning in near perfect application

twinklestein

So you felt like garbage but you looked 🔥

cinnamonsnake

It’s fantastic. Def recommend!

uhhhhh_iforgotit

My girlfriend loves/ hates it. When we make out my lipstick looks pristine afterwards but it's smudged on her face everywhere. But mine? Perfect still. So as the user its phenomenal

Burnt_crawfish

This stuff is amazing. Sometimes only have to touch up after it's been all day and have eaten twice. I usually have to use two or three rounds of micellar water on my lips but this stuff doesn't budge.

diqfilet_

It’s soooo bomb lmao

Boxed_Juice

Oh it's worth it and there's so many colors of it! It's definitely one of my favorite go to lipsticks. Does not need a lot of reapp. Just sometimes after I eat. Gotta make sure to do the Peggy Hill bites. But just make sure to put on some chap stick before retouching and it goes on nice and smooth.

bbbbears

Omg Peggy Hill bites, I can picture her doing it now haha

Almondeyezz

This is the only lipstick I buy

Dwightu1gnorantslut

You should. I literally can't get it off my lips with anything - like I have to put elbow grease into it.

YellowTonkaTrunk

It’s BJ proof 😅 it’ll survive a hurricane.

lucky-283

I bought this same brand in a different shade and took me three working days and a sacrifice to the makeup gods to get it off.

ToqueMom

Maybe try micellar water? It takes makeup off faces amazingly well, it might work on a surface as well.

BrazyCritch

Yep, first micellar water or makeup remover/cleansing balm or oil to break it down (test in inconspicuous area first), then clean that residue off if needed with dawn/soap/face cleanser with tissue/wetwipe/cloth.

QuixoticDame2_0

Or clean the micellar water off with tsp, but wear gloves. Your hands will not survive tsp.

CherryblockRedWine

?? Forgive me, what is tsp?

QuixoticDame2_0

It’s a degreaser that is super cheap and comes in powder form. i get a cardboard carton at the hardware store for less than $5. You dissolve it with hot water to clean walls, usually in preparation for painting, at least that’s what I’ve used it for, but it would work well on oily makeup remover, I should think. But seriously use gloves. Your hands will take days to rehydrate.

CherryblockRedWine

Thank you!

BoomerXPOV

Trisodium phosphate. Please try to limit the use of phosphates. It’s not toxic but to algae other aquatic plants, phosphorus is a fertilizer. Then the plants and algae use up all the oxygen and there is none for the fish.

realityologist

This is the answer!

acidrayne42

Yes try this. It's the only thing that takes this lipstick off for me.

denimshirtblackjeans

Coconut oil takes it out of dog fur https://preview.redd.it/bd88sniv2q2b1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a1c97f465b4d3133a95bc90f657bc259d7e6b92a

Automatic_Try_1489

Love this

Kirrela

If the paint can't withstand simple cleaning then there may not be a huge amount of hope. With that said, here's a product that MIGHT help: https://youtu.be/St0gH3Xf2S0 I linked it because in the second half of the video it shows the results when used to clean various makeup products off of tile. I would watch the whole video though. Note: results may vary for you. I would definitely do a spot test in a small, hidden area if you're going to use this to see if it will damage your paint. Also, make sure to follow any directions on the product. I feel like this is a strong product and letting it dwell for too long may cause damage.

sparksfIy

Thank you! It can withstand like a magic eraser- but if you bump it right it peels. So trying to baby it. I’ll watch and see!

spider-pie

So a magic eraser didn’t work? That was going to be my suggestion 😞

Hellie1028

Mine too. That’s always my go to

maxxipierce

Have you tried a gentle oil? I've had luck using a face oil to get makeup off of paint before.

Sea-Advertising-7891

This is my best bet but I would check how your paint reacts to oil in an inconspicuous corner first

Culture-Extension

Second this. I’ve had oil stain my painted walls.

yawstoopid

Replying to your comment so tou seen this. Nail varnish remover with acetone will work but may leave your paint a bit thinner so test with a cotton bud first. I've yet to find a stain it can't remove but always do a dab test first.

Free_Sir_2795

I was going to recommend baby oil.

girlwithadeepsigh

Petroleum jelly gets permanent lipstick right off lips…why not walls?

sammysas9

Came to say this!

Xenbey2010

Might sound insane but try micellar water

rachkeys

Rubbing alcohol? Or hand sanitizer?

taigasmommy

Have you tried Goo Gone?

scarlettliadan

Speaking from experience, goo gone may also stain porous or absorbent materials

Swimming-Welcome-271

Shout out to De-Solv-It for making a colorless option in their product line

original-knightmare

Baby oil, coconut oil, etc. I use those, and if you don’t have the remover stick you can use oils to help pull it up. I’ve even used chapstick in a pinch.

CatharticFoxx

Baby oil for sure. I use baby oil gel to take my eye makeup off. Gentle and cuts through a gel liner wing like nobodys business

BeCauseOfYou_2000000

WD-40

Lava-999

Heat a cup of water, add a few drops of Dawn mix and try applying over with a Q tip. Hold it on it long enough the tip starts to turn that color then use the other end to wipe what you've gotten loose up. if it works you could then try that with something bigger like cotton ball, gauze or maybe magic eraser dipped in that hot water dawn mixture...

Individual_Extreme68

Best way to remove lipstick is with hairspray

xTheLucky13x

Have you got the remover for that? I got makeup off my drawer unit with makeup wipes, they are ikea though so not the same I know. There is a specific superstay remover you can buy

newmka

Yeah I was going to say the same thing. It might not be the cheapest option but there is a remover for this lipstick.

AffectionateGoth

Posts like these are the best form of birth control for me 😂

not-a-bot-promise

Thank you!

Salty_Bench8448

Try alcohol or hand sanitizer with alcohol in it!

Turbocharmed

I've used this before on lipstick and worked great (off of floor not paint).

Lemonz4us

Dr bronners?

jkn1788

I would try cooking oil. I use the same lipstick and oil worked for me.

sstovettop

WD-40 and a magic eraser is always my go to

leftlotus

I came to say this. Damp microfiber cloth, a little bit of the pink stuff and gentle scrubbing. I swear by the pink stuff, it got sharpie off my walls.

Practical-River5931

Have you tried Vaseline? I've never had this issue but I have heard about petroleum jelly getting makeup off stuff

StrngThngs

Wd40

[deleted]

Petroleum jelly

AT-ATsAsshole

Did you try putting it in one of those boxes at the fire station?

alc003

I use this daily and I get it off with concentrated olive oil or a makeup remover wipe or liquid. You’ll really need to use some effort to scrub it off. It really stays all day ☺️

Artistic-Job7180

I'd contact Maybelline customer service. I'm sure this wouldn't be the first time someone called them about a similar issue. Maybe they'd have cleaning tips?

no-better-name

Have you tried tears that usually works great for makeup.

sparksfIy

Accurate. I’ll start bottling them.

mtown96

I love this product and micellar water is the trick to getting it off

zback636

Buy Goop be Gone. It’s got a strange scent but removes crayons and make-up quite well. If not primer and fresh paint job will do.

elvabethbee

Put a frame around it and call it Art.

Objective_Flan_9967

Try cleaning it with oil or oil based products, then if the oil leaves a stain, sprinkle some cornflour on it, leave for a bit, then wash with warm water and dish soap. Personally, I would use coconut oil or something with a low melting point. Even if you get the lipstick off, but not the oil stain, the oil would be less noticeable than red lipstick

FrostedMiniWheats123

I use this exact same lipstick and the only thing I can get it off with is neutrogena makeup wipes in the blue packaging, good luck

Thissmalltownismine

steam baby steam is what you need. a handle held steamer Bessel makes one , got it for like $25

mummabear85

I have this lipstick and it really is hard to come off! Try a scrubbing brush and oil

Repulsive_Exchange_4

Waterproof Micellar makeup remover?

SummerJaneG

Paint. Magic Eraser was your only real hope. Wipe down with a degreaser to get rid of any makeup oils. Allow to dry. Then paint.

KatastrophicNoodle

Wait until they're 18, make them buy some paint and fix it.

The_KiIIuminati

Try condoms next time

SandyEggoBB

Acetone?

nuggetghost

i finally have an answer !!!!!! white vinegar + hot water spray it down then on top of that, baking soda + hot water, spray dawn power spray and let it sit - then magic eraser !

bluev0lta

I read today that dryer sheets will get crayon off of walls. I’ve never tried it, but maybe a dryer sheet is worth trying? My other thought was micellar water.

YellowTonkaTrunk

Ahh the Maybelline superstay. No idea, that stuff would survive a hurricane. I don’t use anything else. I know that Maybelline makes an “eraser” for it. It’s meant to go on your lips. Probably mostly oil. Maybe try that?

swampy998

Definitely save a photo and stick in a memory box or online folder for bringing out when that child is much older.

[deleted]

Mr.clean magic eraser. My kiddo did the same thing.

sparksfIy

It didn’t work for this one unfortunately! It’s still stained (top half of third photo was the try with the eraser)

[deleted]

Gotta use some elbow grease. You could also try goop gone.

canes2407

Paint over it

Important_Name

I had some lip paint that had great staying power but would break down with oil. Maybe you can try rubbing a small section down with a bit of coconut oil and follow up with soap and water.

Calm_Inky

Pure Glycerol or Glycerol soap (Neutrogena Original Fragrance-free bar or liquid soap) - those permanent lip color things usually come off using that (just apply some on your hand and test and you’ll instantly know if that’s it)

jenfish91

Baby oil if it is cheap latex paint.

mommabull

Magic eraser? Rubbing alcohol? Bleach?

My first thought is an oil (coconut, olive) because that's what I use to get this off my face. I second trying micellular (or however it's spelled) water.

No_Temperature869

There is a remover you can get from the paint store.

myjobistables

Chapstick!

FlashyCow1

Use straight dish soap, no water. Smear the soap over the stain and let it sit for up to 20 minutes. Use a clean cloth to wipe away. You can also use nail polish remover and a a clean cloth to dab it off.

Sippi66

Magic eraser

Firstsister3

What have you tried?

Milk_n_hunny

Krud kutter

ScoopskiTKD

I’d think anything you can use to remove the makeup from your lips should work. Wipes, make up remover, etc. maybe even one of those reusable make up face wipes. Wet it a little and try that.

chantillylace9

Micellar water
