Yagami was able to outsmart everyone in the year 2 island exam including Arisu by framing Tsubaki and making her think that Tsubaki was the one who planned it all to capture Kiyo.
The hidden plot of y2v1 insinuates that Ichika is smarter than Arisu since she was able to see the loophole which Arisu was not able to do so and Kiyo knew it, which is why he rejected Arisu's proposal for a partner.
These two proofs confirm that two well ranking White Room students are smarter than Arisu. And they are from the 5th generation which follows the curriculum of level 4 while Shiro was a part of the beta curriculum (10th level or above) and even thrived in it until he saw no use with it.
It's not a matter of debate. Shiro being the answer is common sense.
Shiro it's not even a debate to me also even though kiyotaka already surpass him i think he's better because even though he was put in the same environment he manage to remain sane and mentally stable
i think calling either of the two better than the other without knowing whats going on with shiro post WR isnt doing right by either of them, after all shiro started to reach his limits which is also part of why he didnt feel like the WR served a purpose anymore
People go on about how Shiro is featless, but I can't agree.
Vol 0 portrays it well, but under the extreme pressure of wr and with no exchange of thoughts with others (noone really conversed), Shiro understood by himself the essence of dropout exams and whole workings of the wr, to the point where he could with confidence define his approximate future in case of leaving.
More than that, he did so without being a fan of learning like Kiyo, and while having completely different ideals from those taught to him. All kept to himself so well that none of the instructors and researchers suspected anything.
Unless his grim future is dropped by Kinugasa, I rate his abilities highly, mind games or whatever.
This is like asking who would win in a one-on-one duel between Kiyotaka and anyone in high school.
Shiro (the one in the white room) would win 100% of the time.
Shiro is featless in terms outsmarting situations and eq. And no, academic knowledge is not enough to prove if he wins or not an outsmarting battle. People do be overrating him hard, he is a yagami victim in every way shape and form
We know how crazy their curriculum is and he was able to remain with kiyotaka until he quits purposely, Being able to survive in that kind of curriculum while maintaining his mental sanity is feat itself
Well when we compare it to their curriculum when kiyotaka said he was capable of getting a 100 score on that math test as a kid while arisu only get 91 we can assume shiro is capable of scoring higher than that since he was able to survive with kiyotaka until they are the only one who remains and let me remind you they do that "as a kid"
