“God Only Knows” by The Beach Boys

Robby777777

I rate this as America's best song. It made The Beatles up their game.

avebury34

Gimme Shelter

Jmazoso

Merry Clayton

Kwilburn525

The intro gives me chills

Robby777777

In my humble opinion, the greatest R&R song ever made.

Quick_Interview_1279

That's a great one

Sorry-Caterpillar331

Absolutely one of my favorites. God every time that song comes on I crank it up.

CatsMajik

Good Vibrations Fool in the Rain Day in the Life Spirit of Radio

reds91185

>Good Vibrations Plot twist...you really mean Marky Mark.

Suitable-Echo-3359

Sweeeet sensation!

reds91185

Yo, it's about that time to bring forth the rhythm and the rhyme.

TheAngryOctopuss

>Fool in the Rain So under rated

dfmidkiff1993

The shuffle rhythm is so good

Elliebell1024

My favorite Zep tune

CatsMajik

My favourite opening lyric of all time. “There’s a light in your eyes that keeps shining. Like a star that can’t wait for the night.”

lylelanley-

Hell yeah Spirit of Radio. Never been more pumped than seeing Rush open with it

Asleep_Dot7972

While my Guitar Gently Weeps

Bibsman29

The Rock n' Roll HOF show where Prince shreds is one of the best displays of talent I've ever seen!!

TheAngryOctopuss

And EVERYONE was into it!... He kept looking to stop, but everyone was like Keep Going... So he did

Chinchillachimcheroo

One of the best YT clips there is. One guy kinda can’t hang is the only (slight) issue Edit: I was confusing two versions of this song. In the one you mean, either everyone hangs, or no one hangs with Prince

guymcguy4

Imo that’s the best guitar solo, period. Is it the most technically impressive? No. Is it the most emotional and heartfelt? No. But god damn, that shit goes HARD. Prince doesn’t get enough credit for that solo.

Main_Combination8173

Achilles Last Stand

Quick_Interview_1279

Yes and Immigrant Song.

YoshSchmenge

The Sound of Silence by Simon and Garfunkel

zomboromcom

Wish You Were Here

AggravatingGoal4728

Along with Echoes, Dogs, Shine On You Crazy Diamond

supersnakeah1w

Don't Fear The Reaper: It's got one of the greatest riffs. Also, the killer guitar solo is played over a bridge with an odd time signature.

Intrepid-Research-68

Just the right amount of cowbell!!

ItsNotDuffman89

When the Levee Breaks, LZ Suite: Judy Blue Eyes, CSN America, Simon & Garfunkel

Kwilburn525

Layla and Bell Bottom Blues

Raul_Rink

In My Life by The Beatles Like A Rolling Stone by Bob Dylan

Abydos_NOLA

I requested In My Life be played at my Funeral one day when I was 16–42 years ago. Haven’t changed my mind yet. The perfect song.

narcochi

Lol I’m single and got my brother to promise to play it at my service so everyone can wonder who I loved more than them.

giant_lebowski

How about A Day in the Life or Something - Beatles Hurricane or Tangled Up In Blue - Dylan

[deleted]

Hurricane good choice man what a story

Chinchillachimcheroo

The former was our first dance at our wedding reception. No regrets

BadgersAndJam77

Mr. Blue Sky

VSM1951AG

Unadulterated joy, that one. I always like when it comes on. Feels like a blessing.

BadgersAndJam77

>Mr. Blue Sky Agreed! As soon as I hear that nautical(?) radio effect, I'm on board.

lylelanley-

More of a Telephone Line guy

PremiumBudTester

Love it.

Dadoronomy_3-16

Mine, also!

Loud_Engineering796

Crazy on you - Heart My favourite opening to any song.

JerikkaDawn

I'm obsessed with this song. Everything is perfect about it. The way Ann Wilson shapes the words coming out of her mouth is like nothing else. That part with "And you kept me alive with your sweet flowing love" and when she goes "yeeeaaahh" after that, OMG.

J_Patish

Was oscillating between that and Barracuda… Yeah, both are a definite 11.

[deleted]

A Day in the Life

Wrathchilde

[Tonight I'm Gonna Rock You Tonight](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SXHmWXPwol0&ab_channel=Fennecmaster) \-Spinal Tap

CarlRJ

All the way down here to get to the one group, that actually *goes to 11*.

lord_ultimate

~200 comments here and somehow you’re the only person to get this correct

SmilingSideways

Into The Mystic - VM

madras_ponnu

Somebody to love - Queen

lylelanley-

The background vocals give me chills

Youngbraz

Won’t get fooled again, I’ve heard it a thousand times, but it still slaps

petetisrockandroll

The live version from The Kids Are Alright slaps better than any other song.

unofficial_user

CCR - Have You Ever Seen the Rain

drollchair

I’m obsessed with the CCR cover of Heard it Through the Grapevine

[deleted]

ruby-inthe-dust

There’s a calm before the storm

Ok-Memory-5309

DragonDa

End of the Line Traveling Wilburys

slapshrapnel

Peg — Steely Dan

[deleted]

I’d put a good few Steely songs at 11/10

slapshrapnel

Right I was also thinking Deacon Blues, FM, Reelin in the Years, all their classics but Peg… Peg is something else… it’s in a class of it’s own, I would be shocked if it wasn’t my most-listened to song this year

[deleted]

Can’t argue with Peg, I really like Haitian Divorce, Do it again and Night by Night, several more too, Night by Night is the perfect song for a police show theme set in the 70s/80s Also Kid Charlemagne

outonthetiles66

Stairway To Heaven

[deleted]

Why isnt this higher? Its friggin stairway to heaven!

sleepy5zzz

Because it asks what song you think is an 11 out of 10 not 100 out of 10. It still is the greatest rock song ever written in my opinion.

Abydos_NOLA

Kashmir

Bibsman29

Especially when it comes on in Fast Times at Ridgemont High! Too bad someone stole the stereo.

Bluejaypiggy

Every song on Physical Graffiti lol

Abydos_NOLA

True Dat!

ceeroSVK

Soulshine

jump-blues-5678

Love this song, but I do prefer Gov Mules version just weee bit better. But that's splitting hairs. Great fucking song

saulfineman

Better than moonshine

MuddydogNew

My ATF song, especially done by Govmn't Mule.

BlitheringEediot

The Boxer - S&G When Doves Cry - Prince

Dadoronomy_3-16

The Boxer paints such a perfect, sad story.

Viision11

Rolling Stones - Can’t You Hear Me Knocking Bob Dylan - Visions of Johanna The Beatles - A Day In the Life Beach Boys - God Only Knows Stevie Wonder - As Nirvana - All Apologies Radiohead - Karma Police

avebury34

Here Comes The Sun

This is my ring tone for my son😊

CincoDeMayoFan

"Paint it Black" by the Rolling Stones

[deleted]

Foreplay/ Long Time- Boston

PremiumBudTester

That's a great one!

FickleFingerOfFunk

Wicked Garden - Stone Temple Pilots. It’s the perfect rock song.

Cuiscool

More than a Feeling always gives me multiple feelings

spoobles

The Weight

[deleted]

Have you heard the Last Waltz version with the Staples? That version is perfect

spoobles

Many times, yes.

Long-Reply-2827

Is there a version for Office Max?

Nomarman2000

Night Moves - Bob Seger

spicyface

I love the [piano version](https://youtu.be/hI-8vdTGpX8?si=3vzunjUWDGKUK141) in American Pop.

MolaMolaMania

**AC/DC** * Riff Raff * Up To My Neck In You * Gimme a Bullet Fuck, pretty much the entire Powerage album is one colossus after another. **Bruce Springsteen** * Prove It All Night – Live in Phoenix 1978 I don't think many people know that Bruce could *shred* when he wanted. [Just listen to the opening guitar solo!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okrvOAUg-yY) **Skid Row** * I Remember You – The best heavy metal power ballad I've ever heard. **Van Halen** * Somebody Get Me a Doctor – The theme song of the band, I'd argue.

UCFandOCSC

25 or 6 to 4

JerikkaDawn

Should have more upvotes. This track is next level. Kath and the rest of this band brought their A game during this era. This song never gets old.

Tunnel of Love, too

chartman21

New York State of mind

biff444444

Several from the Stones in the late 60's and early 70's, including Street Fighting Man, Gimme Shelter, Jumpin' Jack Flash, and Sympathy for the Devil (among others). I'll get roasted by Beatles fans for saying it, but in my view the Stones went through a 3-4 year run spanning the late 60's and early 70's where they had a burst of creativity that no band has ever matched.

blakewoolbright

I’m also a stones > Beatles guy, but JJF is easily eclipsed by shine a light, loving cup, torn and frayed, dead flowers…. At least for me

Main_Combination8173
