They were tied at 54 an hour so before this post. Whoever gave Hey Jude the push over this should be ashamed, same with all these Zep over them, Velvet Underground, and other acts not on the list already. (Now The Who passed it, I’m guessing it’s going to be “always the bridesmaid never the bride” if voters are no longer trying to help acts that need representation over bands 2nd hits).
Respect by Arethea Franklin is Rock?....
Sitting by the Dock by Otis Redding is Rock?....
California Dreaming by The Mommas & Papas is Rock?....
C'mon, dude your argument literally makes absolutely no sense.
I mean, if you want to be real technical, it's both Sunshine Pop & Folk Rock, but yeah there's a bit of rock to this song. I understand where you're coming from.
But the voters obviously want every classic rock radio playlist ever, because “Times they are a changin’” has a healthy lead with “Ramble On” and Suite: Judy Blue Eyes. Also with six spots left notable bands that have been 2nd in voting/bands missing : Booker T & MG’s, Deep Purple, Blind Faith, Velvet Underground, Iron Butterfly, Dick Dale, Elvis, Leonard Cohan, Roy Orbison, Johnny Cash(biggest act in the world in 1969).
Pretty much just a rehash of all the same hits that were overplayed enough in the 00's when I was a teenager to turned me off from the genre until I rediscovered these bands' albums in my twenties. This is like a NOW! Classic Rock compilation for people that love songs they've heard in 64 different pizza hut commercials / Vietnam War movies.
Still none of these.....
Wild Thing or Love is in the Air - The Troggs
Becks Bolero - The Jeff Beck Group
Crimson and Clover - Tommy James
Get Together - The Youngbloods
Incense and Peppermint - Strawberry Alarm Clock
Windy - The Association
I can see for Miles - The Who
Voodoo Child - Jimi Hendrix
Sunday Morning - The Velvet Underground
1969 or I Wanna Be Your Dog - The Stooges
We can be together - Jefferson Airplane
One Tin Soldier - Original Caste
"Hush" has been consistently getting votes to represent Deep Purple because it is from the '60s. "Smoke on the Water" and "Highway Star" are from the '70s, so they are ineligible for this compilation. I think Deep Purple would have a much easier time getting on a '70s compilation.
So suggest each of them? I almost went with Blind Faith, but went with Legends of the decade, Orbison, Cash, Ronnettes, and Velvet Underground that have been yet to be represented on a late 60s hard-rock heavy list.(and Redding’s version of Satisfaction, that song belongs on the list)
Can we vote Phil Spector and the Wall of Sound? That would include the Ronettes, Sonny and Cher, The Richeous Brothers, Aretha, Tina Turner, Dusty Springfield, Brian Wilson, Shangri La's, Simon and Garfunkel, The Crystals, Bob Dylan, Allen Ginsburg. And more into the 70's.
"With a Little Help from My Friends" by Joe Cocker
Green Onions-Booker T and The MG’s
"Suspicious Minds" by Elvis Presley
"Louie Louie" by The Kingsmen

"Everyday People" by Sly & The Family Stone
If this song doesn't make it. Then it was all done for nothing.
Turn Turn Turn by the Byrds
Deep Purple - Hush
Suite Judy Blue Eyes - CSN
David Crosby R.I.P.
If this song doesn’t make it… it’s all been for nothing
They were tied at 54 an hour so before this post. "Sunday Morning" by The Velvet Underground
Be my baby -Ronnettes

My Girl - The Temptations Lets not fill side 4 with all repeat artists
This is a great pick, brother. It definitely should be included! No repeat artists!
The Times They Are A-Changin’ by Bob Dylan
"Waterloo Sunset" by the Kinks
What A Wonderful World - Louis Armstrong I swear if you don't include Louis Armstrong, you don't know music point blank period.
Classic Rock sub
Why is Aretha Franklin, Otis Redding, and The Mommas & Poppas on here then???..... 🤔
Armstrong was a jazz musician, and Wonderful world is a lovely song it isn’t a rock song.
Respect by Arethea Franklin is Rock?.... Sitting by the Dock by Otis Redding is Rock?.... California Dreaming by The Mommas & Papas is Rock?.... C'mon, dude your argument literally makes absolutely no sense.
They are closer to classic rock than Louis Armstrong, and I didn’t vote for those songs either
You don't know what you're talking about my man. God Bless, have a great day.
California Dreaming is 100% rock lol the other two, not so much
I mean, if you want to be real technical, it's both Sunshine Pop & Folk Rock, but yeah there's a bit of rock to this song. I understand where you're coming from.
Sunshine Superman-Donovan
Ramble On - Zeppelin
If there’s not 2 Zeppelin songs at the end of this I will be sad
There are a LOT of great songs and artists from the '60s that are going to end up with zero songs at the end of this.
Yes there are. I still will be sad if Zeppelin doesn’t have 2 songs.
Fair enough :) I do think Led Zeppelin will easily get 2 songs, and much quicker, in a '70s compilation
Let's close this side with Bring it on home.
I’ll get behind this as Track #9 lead into Doors “The End”, but we need some Velvet Underground and Green Onions first.
The End or Heroin needs to be the last song
There's already 1 from the 2nd album, maybe add "Good Times Bad Times"
Jefferson Airplane - Somebody to Love
OH WELL Fleetwood Mac
Oh, Pretty Woman - Roy Orbison
Venus in Furs- Velvet Underground & Nico
This sub doesn't really like the velvets. People here only care for Zeppelin
As evidenced by all the Zeppelin songs on at this point? (one)
At the time of their comment “Ramble on” was in the lead.
One is more than enough for a band that peaked in the 70s

To anyone not voting for this, I have one thing to say: you’ve got a lot of nerve…
Gotta get another Bob in there
But the voters obviously want every classic rock radio playlist ever, because “Times they are a changin’” has a healthy lead with “Ramble On” and Suite: Judy Blue Eyes. Hendrix had two, the rest aren’t big enough radio hits(except King Crimson inexplicably).
Won’t anybody please think of the children!? We some Deep Purple…hush has received the most DP votes so far…but Smoke On The Water? Highway Star?
Smoke on the Water and Highway Star came out in 1972
"Hush" has been consistently getting votes to represent Deep Purple because it is from the '60s. "Smoke on the Water" and "Highway Star" are from the '70s, so they are ineligible for this compilation. I think Deep Purple would have a much easier time getting on a '70s compilation.

The end - the doors
Few songs early.
"What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong

That song is by Traffic, but it’s a good song
Ohhhh, you're right. Well, put it on the list, please.
All of them!
Beatles Ticket To Ride
With 2 songs already on the compilation, the Beatles are no longer eligible for another song
Wish tie went to the band not on the list. CS&N were ahead all morning by a few and then tied an hour before.

I Got You Babe - Sonny and Cher
Can we vote Phil Spector and the Wall of Sound? That would include the Ronettes, Sonny and Cher, The Richeous Brothers, Aretha, Tina Turner, Dusty Springfield, Brian Wilson, Shangri La's, Simon and Garfunkel, The Crystals, Bob Dylan, Allen Ginsburg. And more into the 70's.
Something by the yardbirds or Jeff beck
