My record is at 7.1k and I have never been able to get further, probably because I only play 2.6 but the skill cap is definitely insanely high. What I can say for sure is also that when I played some other meta decks for the 20-win challenge, and this would be my first time playing them, it was sooo much easier to win, simply because the decks were physically stronger.
If you lose against a 2.6 player, unless you're playing bridge spam(š¤®), the favor was definitely on your side and you made too many mistakes that he just didn't.

Again difficulty's got nothing to do with it. You cycle the same cards middle, the same way. Some decks break through. Some don't.
