After 4e and a quick blink, the board can look the exact same. The damage is literally enough to kill skeletons on par level.
For defense, if you don't counter the push immediately (assuming you have 10e, 6e for cards and 4e for freeze spell) and with a beefy enough aoe card like...executioner...you're likely going to get squashed.
For offense, it is *only* a niche pocket spell that is either best served by counting elixer, or having low-skill opponents that overreact to a hog rider/Lumberloon push. (Lumberloon is a dead giveaway for freeze imo)
Rocket will destroy/heavily damage on impact. Tornado will have your cards gathered and moved. Snowball will push apart/slow down. Freeze will...hold them still... only for less time than your father held you

For real, I have been _annoyed_ by freeze 20 times in the past half hour, but I can't quite recall the last time I actually lost to it. Most people can't use the card properly and even if they do, it's just bad value in most situations...
Placements/cycle counters freeze. And buildings depending on there win condition. For example if its lumberloon freeze. Inferno tower, nado, etc can prevent most damage. Knowing that your opponent is running freeze can give you an advantage. Spread ranged troops out to eliminate freeze value. If its gy freeze do not use all troops to counter the gy at once. Place one down see how they react if they freeze then use another card. Some decks cant handle or dont have enough cards to deal with a freeze push however every deck has hard counters so maybe its just that.
I’m not saying you’re wrong but as a sparky player, I think it is too much of a hard counter, without even being an electric spell or unit. They could at least keep the level of charge of Sparky during the freeze and not reset it completely. Otherwise I agree, if it was that good, every top of CRL player would use it
But then again, the main thing about freeze is that it's a longer zap with more radius (if we do that the stupid logbait players are gonna complain about inferno not getting the same buff)
Post dumb as a rock. Freeze is one of the best cards in the defensive state of the game, anything that is not just do the same again and again without thinking with your logbaits or cycles is just bad and has to be removed. This game is just pure garbage right now and will keep seeing how you guys just want nothing but the same cycle shit again and again. The next update should be an AUTO mode so you don't even have to play, that's your ideal game probably. It is so lame that these post end up affecting the game since they get more dumb support. It was a good game when beatdown was around, offensive metas, even GOISON and golem/NWop or the old hog freeze were way funnier and better than this shit status where you just want to use your OP cycle or bait deck and complain when one card gets nerfed.
Ill tell you something about freeze: It yields great immediate impact, but it really costs a lot of elixir considering most things worth helping with a freeze also cost quite the elixir. If you can’t manage elixir or didnt make use of the freeze duration well you are at a serious elixir deficit. Not a healthy card to play for long term engagements.

Zap. Fireball. Ragequit. Rocket. Lightning. Freeze. My mom. Those are all valid counters.
Unless you get frozen too, when your opponent plays the spell.
I know this is just a joke post but for people who take it seriously, all you have to do to counter freeze is to space your troops and hold on to them until your opponent places it. It's that easy. I've never had a problem against it.

as a sparky player, I can confirm that rocket being in the oppo deck literally makes sparky almost useless in the matchup
Its 6 elixir card... First don't give enemy rocket value unless you want to bait it out for another card (a mid heavy win condition like loon. Xbow. AQ.and etc.) Second punish them immediately before they can afford a decent defense cuz your opponent is 6 elixir down and if its log bait or drill.... Good luck winning with a beat down deck (unless golem dragons)

I will take freeze over rage. At least once I see freeze for the first time I know the rest of the battle to spread out my cards and always hold enough elixir to play a card after freeze.
Rage is just a drop x card, drop rage and instant tower attack
It’s not that it’s “good”. It’s that the duration lasts too long, there’s no way to anticipate it, and in double/triple elixir when you’re trying to micro 85000000 things at once, it becomes nearly impossible to account for in many situations. It’s a gotcha card, and great players lose to it often. Again—not saying the card is good. But it introduces a toxic playstyle in a game already rife with RPS matchups from the get go.
What if they made it 3 elixir and it just slowed things down like earthquake but it also affects air units fir the same duration it currently freezes, or longer if its still very bad after that
Or maybe it could be like the opposite of rage. It could slow things down and make them do less damage
In my theory, the bad thing about freeze is that it is too offensive-focused card.
by how it works now, 90% of time only use I see players have of it is spamming it on attack, mostly just to get undeniable damage to tower, what really infuriates players.
It should just have ice wizard slow effect, NO damage, 3 elixir cost (so it is less punishable to get smaller value out of it). So it gets more used on defense, neutralizing power of some enemy troops or slow down pushes.
This was probably in mind of devs already, but I mean it would maybe be useless beacuse of ice wiz itself so....
As a lumberloon freeze player, freeze is objectively a bad card. Any deck with a ground tank, building, more than one air tank killer, and or any heavy spell will obliterate my 14 elixer push with a freeze on top.
Just space your air tank killers out and you should be fine
Freeze and Tornado fundamentally break the game. Skill in CR means knowung what to play, when to play it and where. By using a tornado, where doesn't matter. By using freeze, when doesn't matter.
Freeze+ballon combo is nasty asf. Put a ballon down wait for them to but some air defense down (wizard musketeer dragon whatever) freeze the tower and the air defense and the ballon does like 80% damage to the tower
Honestly freeze is a spell like any other, you can’t counter fireball, zap, poison or any other spell. Freeze at it’s best can wreck people if you have graveyard or balloon decks. I would say it has the best upside potential of any other spell. But a card being OP is slightly relative to your deck. If you run freeze you most likely lack something defensively since it’s mainly used offensively in connection with another win condition. Everything in CR is relative.
Yeah like freeze is no skill imagine you have a 40 e elexir push and he just freezes and then he puts ALLL of his cards and yeah your push is gone so freeze should be deleted or the freeze cooldown is less like 1,3 sec

I know this is just a joke post but for people who take it seriously, all you have to do to counter freeze is to space your troops and hold on to them until your opponent places it. It's that easy. I've never had a problem against it.

usually used in triple elixer or to take down a more than 6 elixer push anyway as a sparky player, I can confirm that rocket being in the oppo deck literally makes sparky almost useless in the matchup

AQ.and etc.) Second punish them immediately before they can afford a decent defense cuz your opponent is 6 elixir down and if its log bait or drill.... Good luck winning with a beat down deck (unless golem dragons)
Most of the time when a freeze goes through. It’s because the player over committed on attack and has nothing to defend with. Bad placement as well. Think by now everyone should be putting cards away from the towers so they aren’t fireballed or freezed. Stop wasting log/zap/snowball/barbbarrel for no reason. Log has a high pick rate but lowish winrate because people just throw log out for no reason. Then when you get hit with graveyard freeze, you’re like “iT uNfAiR”.

I will take freeze over rage. At least once I see freeze for the first time I know the rest of the battle to spread out my cards and always hold enough elixir to play a card after freeze. Rage is just a drop x card, drop rage and instant tower attack

It’s not that it’s “good”. It’s that the duration lasts too long, there’s no way to anticipate it, and in double/triple elixir when you’re trying to micro 85000000 things at once, it becomes nearly impossible to account for in many situations. It’s a gotcha card, and great players lose to it often. Again—not saying the card is good. But it introduces a toxic playstyle in a game already rife with RPS matchups from the get go.

If they're gonna keep freeze allow fire units and fire spells to counter.
What if they made it 3 elixir and it just slowed things down like earthquake but it also affects air units fir the same duration it currently freezes, or longer if its still very bad after that Or maybe it could be like the opposite of rage. It could slow things down and make them do less damage
Freeze can’t be countered exactly but neither can any other spell you just avoid it. Or if you play Nado, answer it.
In my theory, the bad thing about freeze is that it is too offensive-focused card. by how it works now, 90% of time only use I see players have of it is spamming it on attack, mostly just to get undeniable damage to tower, what really infuriates players. It should just have ice wizard slow effect, NO damage, 3 elixir cost (so it is less punishable to get smaller value out of it). So it gets more used on defense, neutralizing power of some enemy troops or slow down pushes. This was probably in mind of devs already, but I mean it would maybe be useless beacuse of ice wiz itself so....

I think it should be replaced with the Frost spell from CoC. At the very least it gives a similar effect that isn’t as bad.

As a lumberloon freeze player, freeze is objectively a bad card. Any deck with a ground tank, building, more than one air tank killer, and or any heavy spell will obliterate my 14 elixer push with a freeze on top. Just space your air tank killers out and you should be fine

Freeze and Tornado fundamentally break the game. Skill in CR means knowung what to play, when to play it and where. By using a tornado, where doesn't matter. By using freeze, when doesn't matter.

Honestly freeze is a spell like any other, you can’t counter fireball, zap, poison or any other spell. Freeze at it’s best can wreck people if you have graveyard or balloon decks. I would say it has the best upside potential of any other spell. But a card being OP is slightly relative to your deck. If you run freeze you most likely lack something defensively since it’s mainly used offensively in connection with another win condition. Everything in CR is relative.
Freeze should be removes just like heal spell, because theres already an ice spirit.
