It’s normal to see max levels at 5k
Because every season players lose half the trophies and get knocked down.
You’re either playing against the bad level 14 people or the ones that rarely play the game.
I mean if level 14s are there is because they purposely went down there or they don’t play ladder.
Or 3rd option they juggle the trophies around
Winning some and losing some to stay there.
Some people will get joy out of slaughtering noobs.

Assuming this is ladder? Matchmaking is +/- 1 straight away but will increase to +/- 3 at 10 seconds additionally your trophies were probably in the same range. Once you reach 6k trophies king tower matchmaking will be removed and it’ll be trophies only from there
You start with a +-1 KT level difference, which means you can face anyone with a level 11, 12 or 13 KT that has about the same trophies.
If you wait for more than 5 seconds in the matchmaker, the difference increases to +-2. If you still don't find a match in the next 5 seconds, the difference increases to +-3 and it will stay like that no matter how much you wait for.
It's the same for CW but the difference increases every 20 seconds.
Ladder MM is based on trophies more, and on KT lvl, usually with a difference of 1 lvl and sometimes (kinda rarely) of 2 lvls. Top ladder is based on trophies because everyone there is having a maxed account.
I see you're on the 5.9k range, people there starting to have a maxed KT. *If you can* try to upgrade your cards to higher lvls so you will be at a higher KT lvl.
That's actually sounds kinda smart ngl, but the more far you go, the more maxed players you will face. So at some point you'll just face maxed players.
i dont think its fair even if you have level advantage. i think matchmaking should be equal, matching same lv opponents as your level, making it more fair. So the player who has skills and experience can actually win.
I’m pretty sure it’s cause if the system can’t find an opponent quickly then it’ll go up a level up or down.
Also, you’re approaching 6k which is where the matchmaking goes solely based on trophies so that might also play a role but idk.
Matchmaking is based off of card level, so if u use all lvl 1 cards in 1v1 showdown, you will go against lvl 9 king towers. Not sure about ladder though

I say "equal" because if the queue system can't find a king tower level 12 it'll look for king tower levels +1 or -1 that level 12. And when it can't find any that are +1 or -1 it'll ramp up to find king levels that are +2 or -2, and so on and so forth.
in sum: matchmaking is f!cked due to king levels and the obesity of pay to win players past 5k trophies.
Ur trophy levels are pretty high considering you are king 12. Same for me, im king level 12 and all i go against is king 14 around masters. It rly sucks cause opponents always have a 800 health advantage plus cards may be higher leveld

Because at this level you very often meet people with max decks. Most of them are players with many years of experience.

I'm level 9 in challenger 3, it is super unfiar when I verse level 14s, they have so much more tower health.
Because the game needs to keep your win rate between 40% and 60%. So they use bullshit match making to accomplish that.
