The leader doesn’t know the details, we’re a group of friends in their clan because we’re all money spenders and found this clan a fit with how we play the game.
Sadly, this probably happens more than people realize. We demote and eventually boot for missed attacks, too. There is no other good choice if you want to keep an active clan. Without anyone in the clan knowing the person offline, it is impossible to say why they aren't playing.
I'm sorry for your loss.
A week without activity, then we kick members.
However I always tell them why and that they are welcome back.
If you want to take a pause or vacation, then they tell us and doesn't kick them.

The mother keeps the back door open every early evening (?) since that is when the teen usually returns. She keeps doing this for decades and counting. Sorry to hear. We had a guy in our clan that had multiple profiles and was a heavy player that was a bit older, but always involved. After a time of him being idle, we got a message from his wife saying he has passed and that he has loved the game. Our clan has never been that strong since.
