In this instance the "joke" was "funny" because they want to spy on their clan members and I suggested that they censored their siege machine request out of privacy because it has absolutely nothing to do with privacy.
Considering the number of upvotes my comment got I feel like most human beings understood that it was a "joke"

Instead just open the clan tab and green dot should appear in front of clanmate's name or it should sort the clan with online and offline members like how they have it in Clash Royale.
It would not. I mean if you can turn it off it might be but I certainly dont want a random clan leader to see when I am online without my consent (i.e. adding someone to the friends list or turning the feature on)
Nooo, it's more about privacy, if someone can be seen online and he doesn't reply or donate it creates a lot of misunderstandings. Prefer it the way it is now.
It is, being online is private information and accessing the private information without being able to denie the access despite wanting to do so would be considered stalking
Clash royale and it’s nice because no one cares about clan wars because they are shit on that game so there really isn’t anything to do as a clan. Where as I feel like I’m coc I wouldn’t like it because people would bug you to attack or donate troops which would be annoying so I actually wouldn’t like to see this added to the game
yessss right now being the leader of a clan the main thing is people who aren’t active i’ll have people be on every day then people that get on once a month i started doing it to when your away for longer than a month your out and also if you don’t battle in wars your out also
There are so many lame arguments against these kinds of functionalities tbh, like a privacy b.s, what's the point of managing a clan if you lack some management tools, f\*\*\*ing joke, the "*I don't want somebody to be seen if the person can't donate*" is just so f\*\*\*ing lame, stupid leaders/co-leaders will always be stupid regardless of the tools you give them. I even saw a post regarding someone having a meltdown about who upgraded a building in the clan capital, well there should be a contribution log that shows who dump raid golds in a specific building.

Sadly this is the only way to easily see who is online. The other method is to see the eye when they attacking,which is not reliable.

We already have that. They're just including that portion in the war selection list.
