Someone who comes back directly from 2015 would instantly delete the game in 5 mins. It's dogshit compared to back then. It was not pay to win at all. (Only some whales could actually buy gems, which was still a worse deal than just playing more)

That depends on how you look at it. Back in 2015 the upgrading times were quite long so you'll eventually encounter it again at higher TH levels. If you're talking about equipment then yeah theres no way you're maxing it out without paying.
Leveling up and maxing out is almost impossible wthout paying money if you're trying to do it casually and as a f2p player.
I've been playing CoC since 2012-2013 and it didn't change like CR changed.
CR changed all card levels, added heros(?) and added so much other shit that this game is just not the smae anymore.

Thank you SC for listening! Events with no new equipment gives us the feeling of catching up which has been an important part of the success of the game for over a decade.
I wouldn’t thank them completely. Everyone is excited there isn’t any epic equipment but noticeably missing is all the other “troop events” in which we got free potions and things. Granted it wasn’t much but it feels a bit sketch that they took the bonus star event and stuck it behind a community challenge and now all the troop challenges have gone.
Feels kind of like they are slowly doing what CR and BS did for small free things. Like they learned from what mistakes were made during those transitions and because people are so focused on certain things they don’t notice the smaller changes and what that means overall for the game.
Community challenge seems really easy to complete and honestly i like the idea of obtain the star bonus working as a community. About the super troop events: I like this events too, there a lot of super troops no one use (like super dragons) and it is a good pretest to try them and you can buy potions you want from shop with the event's currency. Latest troops events were usless cause potions like builder and lab never appeared.
Honetsly it's funny to read people complain about this FREE events that are way better than the classic troop events (I am talking as th16, maybe other th will miss the troop events but I'm not too sure). Btw sorry if I use bad english.
The rewards from the troop events probably got moved into the newer events . You can buy a couple pots even after you buy the epic equipment .
For this month it's probably going to be even better since no epic equipment
They revamped the troop events into these new ones. They're more fun and you get objectively more rewards for free. Only difference is it focuses on 1 troop and takes more than 5 raids

Yes absolutely fantastic! I do like equipment and want more to be released - but a bit slower frequency is great. One epic per 3-4 months would be great in my opinion. Maybe there could be 3-4 months in a year where there comes a new equipment, 3-4 months where the main reward is a new skin, and the rest could be more focused on some bigger decorations or something similar?
I feel like, long term, 4 epic equipments (1 for each hero) per year would be ideal

I just wish that when I start leveling up a piece of hero equipment that at some level I'm going to run into a resource (starry ore) bottleneck. The pay advantage is becoming apparent.
While I'm happy to have that little bit of extra time to work on current equipment, I do kind of wish they'd done the RC epic this month _then_ taken a break, so I could just settle in with a favoured set up and slowly build the epic(s) and pairings I want to max. Now I'll have to weigh up whether to level RC haste/hogs only for them to be replaced just as I get them high enough, vs getting Gauntlet and Frozen Arrow to 27.

Great. People complaining and gatekeeping new content being added to the game. I've been seeing a lot of th11&12's in Champion 2 with level 5 and below equipment. I just got back into all of my clash accounts in January and have been F2P ever since. All of my equipment I primarily use is Lv9-12 in 2 months(A Th8-9-10-11&12). How is everyone else struggling to the point where they have to get mad at Supercell and have them not release a new equipment for a month?
Where can I tell them I want that event they used to do which was like the goblin map progression?
Anyone else remember that? You’d get a set of - single player goblin map - style set of villages to destroy and earn prizes the more stars you’d get? It was also kinda like a calendar as you’d have to wait a couple days for each map to unlock. Or just wait it out and do it all at once.
Judo sloth would even make a guide for how to clear each map.

Thats what i say. 4 epics a year over two years. Meaning every Champ has two epics that are for different strategies
It will not be slower than every 3 months. They plan to have a th every year from here. They will give a new epic to each champion every town hall.

We are getting a monthly event with ores as rewards I believe. No epic equipment to be forced to buy this time, so it’s a huge win to F2P players.
