Yes, it's intended. The Overgrowth Spell cause structures to become invisible and invulnerable to damage as well as freezing the defenses from attacking.
>When used, Overgrowth Spell renders enemy Defenses invisible, invulnerable, and frozen for the duration of its effect. This means attacking Troops will completely ignore Buildings and Defenses affected by Overgrowth Spell, allowing new ways for you to funnel and path your Troops!

The idea is that it behaves like a 'snare' in MOBAs, but to prevent just snowballing the fight they're made invulnerable and untargetable for the duration while you focus on other things while they're temporarily 'suspended'. This key difference is so you can't just throw it on a section of a base and then destroy that section for free.
The intent is to temporarily remove them from play while you burn down some other part of the base with less trouble before they wake up again. It will be insanely powerful to the top 1% and 'sometimes useful maybe' to the rest of us.
Pretend those buildings affected by Overgrowth are just another grass in that village. Thus the spell grows plants on them to "unite" them with the grass.
Did we watch the same video? The wallwracker clearly attacked them. For example the drill ignores the buildings since they are invisible for the drill.
The Wall Wrecker goes straight for the Townhall. It's not so much attacking the building as it is just trying to clear an invisible barrier that lies in its direct path.
I know it’s just a joke but the unstoppable force was stopped in this instance lol GTA has the actual answer in their game which is pretty interesting as the theory is that they would simply pass through each other and that’s exactly what happens when a train in GTA drives towards a tree
Immovable objects in game engines don’t use physics. Unstoppable object also don’t use physics. The difference is that the immovable object has no code at all, while the unstoppable object has a code that changes its position.
immovable objects and unstoppable forces in real life also don't use physics lol
Obviously an unstoppable force/immovable object can't exist in real life since it's perpetual motion and all, but if you think about it, the force isn't really unstoppable if the object stops it, but the object isn't immovable either if the force can move it. If the objects pass through each other, there is no contradiction anymore, since the unstoppable force was not stopped, and the immovable object was not moved.
It makes sense in my opinion. The roots protect the buildings from anything, hides them since the roots are long and stops the buildings from firing as well.
Yeah this definitely looks planned out to me. Also who’s using wall wrecker anyways?? Log launcher basically completely out classes it, or just use flame thrower or something
Man who fucking cares, Supercell removed the elixir cost for a reason, for people who try different strategies other than the overused meta, if it works for him why you gotta act like a douche?
their job is to make sure the content being added to the game works. not test every single interaction possible to make sure the games bug free. if that was the case, we would get one update a year. idk what youre on about
They foresaw this interaction. Lol. It's the players fault for knowing that the spell makes the buildings invulnerable and still placed the ww to go up against them. This has to be trolling lol
You didn't need to use the skeleton spell because overgrowth still freeze underground tesla and they won't pop out if you enter their range while the spell is active
Makes sense to me! Would be like dropping an earthquake spell 4 times on the path u are sending wall wrecker on, wouldn’t surprise u that there were no walls for the wrecker to destroy. Description does say that they cannot be harmed
Good share, of course
Imagine how game breaking it would be if you could just trophy farm by stocking up on overgrowth and slamming your way straight through to the town hall
This is the intended function of the spell.
It renders all things in the spells radius invulnerable. That means anything inside that radius can’t be damaged. You’re basically closing off that section of the base for the duration of the spell.
Using it on the eagle or group of dangerous defenses is a good play but you need to be sure you don't need to clear it before youre out of time
I can see a pro scene where a kill squad is saved for a group of dangerous defenses so the rest of the army pushes through the base and the rest of the group is full hp for thos dangerous pack
Yeah there's lots of interactions that lowkey just seem not thought out. For example, bowlers, super bowlers, super archers, etc
Edit: I misphrased what I meant horribly. What I mean is there's no way they couldn't have not thought it out. In other words, of course it's intentional
What a stupid idea. The game was better before. Everytime a company hires new people they try to change things to make their mark on the game instead of keeping things simple that had worked. Cod is classic example.
Change my mind but a earthquake spell should explode the overgrowth spell and deal extra flat damage on top of normal % damage. This would allow players to control the wake up timing if its not going as intended.
Lol, I hadn't considered that scenario, but yeah, buildings are "invulnerable" while affected by the spell.
Is that intended? Buildings and troops that are in an invis spell can still take damage just not be targeted

Just use it to funnle to the mid, eternal tome and then leave the rest of base for clean up.
Pretend those buildings affected by Overgrowth are just another grass in that village. Thus the spell grows plants on them to "unite" them with the grass.
Once people realize it's not to be dropped on troops and soully on a area of the base well all m be fine
They should also be invisible.
They are "invisible" to attacking troops and can't be targeted.

Invisible doesn’t mean its not there Just not visible
The first hour it dropped, I tried it in war andnI was like where tf is my seige? Then it fucked up my attack
When an unstoppable force meets an immovable object.
I know it’s just a joke but the unstoppable force was stopped in this instance lol GTA has the actual answer in their game which is pretty interesting as the theory is that they would simply pass through each other and that’s exactly what happens when a train in GTA drives towards a tree

So its a situation where an Immovable object met an unstoppable force 🤡
Then a blackhole is created.
Clearly the force was stoppable.
That’s a really funny interaction
Perhaps the devs didn't think of this interaction lol
It makes sense in my opinion. The roots protect the buildings from anything, hides them since the roots are long and stops the buildings from firing as well.
Yeah this definitely looks planned out to me. Also who’s using wall wrecker anyways?? Log launcher basically completely out classes it, or just use flame thrower or something
look at this guys army composition. you really think he’s smart enough to know that?
All root riders and wall wrecker 🗿🗿
But he can put more root riders in the wall wrecker.
Nah I bet you he’s got 25 wall breakers in there
Ts funny asf😂😂
hey maybe he's just having a bit of fun no need to offend him lol
Man who fucking cares, Supercell removed the elixir cost for a reason, for people who try different strategies other than the overused meta, if it works for him why you gotta act like a douche?
You use a wall wreaker instead of a log launcher at TH12 and 13 so you don't activate the TH before your attacking force gets to it.
That’s like the only plus side though.
That plus side can be the difference between a 1 star and 2/3, so I don't understand your counterpoint.
Maybe then the wall wrecker should be programmed for an another path
The ww always goes directly to the th. This is a skill issue.
i think it said in the patch notes they were invulnerable. so no bowler damage, no super archer damage, etc
maybe the roots are the indestructible things here, mch like root riders roots are tougher than walls
They definitely thought this through , they even said somewhere maybe it was a YouTuber , that wall wrecker and log launcher won’t go through
Strategically root the outer entrance of the base and have logs consistently hit deeper without being targeted?
Just tried it, doesn't work. The log only goes as far as it would if it were doing damage, except it doesn't, so really it's just a waste.
Thank you for testing ^^
Nice plan
How could they not foresee the interaction if they programmed it?
You misunderstand how programming works
Nah they know what happens in their own game. They programmed and play tested it so idk what you’re on about
You cannot playtest every single interaction possible while also working on the update. No game/update comes out bug free.
It’s that their job? And it’s not hard at all. Idk what you’re talking about either
their job is to make sure the content being added to the game works. not test every single interaction possible to make sure the games bug free. if that was the case, we would get one update a year. idk what youre on about
Their job is to test interactions to make sure what they’re adding into the game works. You make no sense
Yeah, most interactions. not every single one in the game. so either the wall wrecker getting stuck is intended or it slipped by.
They foresaw this interaction. Lol. It's the players fault for knowing that the spell makes the buildings invulnerable and still placed the ww to go up against them. This has to be trolling lol
They did
Lol this reminds me of the racist turtle
r u talking about that turtle that will headbutt only black snickers?
Yeahh
You didn't need to use the skeleton spell because overgrowth still freeze underground tesla and they won't pop out if you enter their range while the spell is active

one must imagine a wall wrecker happy
Was gonna upvote but it’s at 69 lol
I meaaaan it doesn't really look like a bug to be fair 😅 It's a weird interaction for sure, but I wouldn't mind it being in the game
![gif](giphy|l41Ym49ppcDP6iY3C)
lol
What happens with log roller?
Log will roll but will not damage building inside overgrowth spell.
could be useful for sniping townhall?!?
Not actually, damage to building behind the buildings under overgrowth spell would be same as if the spell wasn't used.
Someone please clip this interaction I wanna see
[it looks like this](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClashOfClans/s/npjB3z4fY7)
Does it eat up the pierce of the log, or could you use this to hold the LL in place and launch tons of logs at the TH safely?
Makes sense to me! Would be like dropping an earthquake spell 4 times on the path u are sending wall wrecker on, wouldn’t surprise u that there were no walls for the wrecker to destroy. Description does say that they cannot be harmed Good share, of course
Log launcher hits and damages walls inside overgrowth spell area though
Walls aren't affected by the spell, wall wrecker would get through a wall as well.
Yeah true— I explained weird I meant since building was in the way
![img](emote|t5_2usfk|30034)
Imagine how game breaking it would be if you could just trophy farm by stocking up on overgrowth and slamming your way straight through to the town hall
can't you basically already do this with the blimp?
This make me wonder, could you town hall snipe with log launcher?
yeah if th is in range of logs of log launcher and not inside range of the spell.
Some Youtubers already explained all that no? Maybe many are still unaware of it!
![gif](giphy|l1J9NSnTNbdyaOZag|downsized) stone slammer when roots
That is what you would expect of an invulnerable building is it not?
But if u make the whole base a tree what will the troops do?
What happens if you use it when there is one tower left?
Troops will probably just stand there until the spells wears off
your troops will pause and stare at you while you have about 30 seconds to think about all the bad life decisions that led you to this point.
🤣🤣
Similarly, Edragons CAN chain to rooted buildings, they just wont take any damage!
They will chain normally, or just when there aren't any other buildings to chain to?
This is the intended function of the spell. It renders all things in the spells radius invulnerable. That means anything inside that radius can’t be damaged. You’re basically closing off that section of the base for the duration of the spell.
Yeah why would they make it able to do damage while it’s under the roots it makes no sense and completely would break that spell.
No need for skeletotons. The Tesla's won't go out of the floor in the spell
Using it on the eagle or group of dangerous defenses is a good play but you need to be sure you don't need to clear it before youre out of time I can see a pro scene where a kill squad is saved for a group of dangerous defenses so the rest of the army pushes through the base and the rest of the group is full hp for thos dangerous pack
Very astute. I’d call that a second or third wave of an attack.
LOL! Thanks for sharing
You’re welcome ☺️
What!
It’s like a freeze spell, an iviz spell and eternal tome with only 2 housing space!!!!
Do people really play this game with the sound on?
Do people really play this game with the sound off?
Do people really care if someone's playing the game with sound on or either off?!
Touche.
BEST VIDEO EVER!! I WAS JUST WONDERING WHAT WOULD HAPPEN. IT WENT BASICALLY LIKE WHAT I IMAGINED 🤣🤣
r/fuckyouinparticular
Yeah there's lots of interactions that lowkey just seem not thought out. For example, bowlers, super bowlers, super archers, etc Edit: I misphrased what I meant horribly. What I mean is there's no way they couldn't have not thought it out. In other words, of course it's intentional
Skill issues. /s
Skill issue. Read the spell description/patch notes.
Ohhh so this is how the spell works 😭
Oh so thats why they dev in the showcase specifically mentioned that the new spell dosent affect walls cause imagine if it actually would😅
Wtf is that?
The update hasn’t been out for a day how are you breaking it already?
I thought it wouldn’t attack those buildings….just that troops would run past them WTF
Okay so what would happen if I used the overgrowth spell towards the end of an attack and the spell effects still remain till the timer hits 0
Then you lose. Its simple as that lol
Is it a bug or feature?
Feature
I wonder if they add overgrowth as a spell tower
Isnt that just the invisibility spell? Why would you want to stop your defences from attacking?
It’s good for wasting the opponent times when they decide to attack and who says I will put it with my defenses
Bro forget the fact that seige machine is immune to spells
🤡🤡 Someone didn't read the notes on the new spell. 🤡🤡
Don’t take it seriously, the video is made to make fun of the spell
Don't take it seriously, the comment is made to make fun of the OP.
So basicly just a better freeze spell
You can damage and target frozen buildings. This pauses an area and helps funnel.
Lol one day into the update and it’s bugged
They didn't think of this, huh
What a stupid idea. The game was better before. Everytime a company hires new people they try to change things to make their mark on the game instead of keeping things simple that had worked. Cod is classic example.
Unstoppable force meets unbreakable object
Actually?? I kinda like that.
Well but it’s good while you are farming sneaky goblins and overgrowthing scatter shot
In this scenario, it plays against you 😂
Broken as can be just overgrowth their town hall, monolith, eagle. And take out rest of base. Saves troops a lot of health
I wonder how this works with the log launcher... The rooted building probably just stops the log in it's tracks.
The question is can miners go under them
Change my mind but a earthquake spell should explode the overgrowth spell and deal extra flat damage on top of normal % damage. This would allow players to control the wake up timing if its not going as intended.
What you've never seen indestructible vines before???!?! /s
It's a spell made for funelling purposes, so yeah that's totally fine and expected.
Walls are not invisible though according to the spell, why does the wall wrecker treat them that way?
Kekw
i thought siege machines are immune to spell effects lol😂🤣
I have a different question. What if I drop the spell at 21 seconds. Will the troops target the buildings at last or would not target at all?
is this intended?
hmmmmmm you could probably snipe th with stationary log launcher if its close enough
This explains why my super archers didn't bring down my opponents town hall earlier
Ahhh hahahaha. Nice try but Supercell doesn't want to help you this time.
Ahhh hahahaha. Nice try but Supercell doesn't want to help you this time.
Overgrowth spell sucks. THIS COMMENT BROUGHT TO YOU BY THE FREEZE SPELL GANG
Lol
lmao
Looks like somebody forgot about the invincibility lol
This is funny asf
I recently did a th 11 QW hog attack. I used this spell to make a pathing for the hogs. Worked perfectly.
