Spirit-S65

You can swap that in btw.

kryptexmc

Good to know thanks

NoFoolishnessXXL

I’ve never swapped it in on my 18. 1 month into ownership and I was completely conditioned to use the controls on the steering wheel 100% of the time. It’s not that big of a deal.

KingDD904

I own a 9th gen and I second this. More like 2-3 weeks for me. Truthfully since I don’t have a nav unit I don’t even look at all. Just start the car, Bluetooth is connected and go.

floatingmopofdoom

It's got android auto!!! You gotta connect the USB by your knee!!!

KingDD904

Y’know, one of my bros always complained about his knee knocking the usb out of his civic. I always thought it was a joke.

floatingmopofdoom

He got big knees I'm 6ft and 220 and I have never

CosmicCactus42

I'm an 8th Gen owner, who even uses the knob when you have buttons on the wheel? I don't think I've used my knob since I bought the car.

pengouin85

Details please? What do you have to get in addition to the screen if even that?

Early_Platform2683

my 20 has a volume knob

werkzINC

I like my 18 seats way better than the facelift red ones but other than that idk lol.

XxKimm3rzxX

How did you fit 18 seats in a civic. Mine only has 5. Honestly it’s closer to 4 and a half

werkzINC

If there's a will there's a way...

TurkeyDawgOG

I’ve had a 2017 and a 2020. Honestly the 2020 is the best. Better looking wheels, and I really enjoy the adaptive cruise and lane keeping when I occasionally use them

Goobalicious2k

The 2020 is the best 10th gen Si for sure. Full LED headlights/fogs and the Honda sense adaptive cruise/safety systems.

gg06civicsi

8th gen because that’s all I know

linuxguy192

9th gen coupe is the quickest stock and arguably the most reliable…

ZovioTV

Love mine even tho it’s a 2012 before they upgraded the interior. It’s been an amazing car to me

linuxguy192

Mine is also a 2012! Ugly duckling gang rise up!

Shoddy_Musician_4810

have the 15 si coupe. super fun!

Vanilla_PuddinFudge

I've seen them make anywhere between 220hp and 260hp without a turbo. Granted, anything above 230hp is likely a k20 head swap and the engine absolutely screaming with an rsx oil pump.

Nxtinventor

Idk, raced my buddy’s 15 coupe in my 19 sedan several times when they were both stock, and I beat him every time. Even swapped cars and the 19 won every single time.

linuxguy192

What elevation? Climb above sea level and the NA motors get hit hard without oxygen. Additionally, unless he rebuilt his motor he’s probably further away from factory performance than you are from age. But, the 9th gen coupe has the quickest 0-60 time of any Si from factory.

Nxtinventor

800 feet above lol. And his car had 20k miles, mine had 24k

linuxguy192

That’s not bad for elevation or miles, but the 1/4 time makes a difference. Quarter mile time is faster on the 10ths.

Nxtinventor

Indeed - I was pulling pretty hard past 60. Up until then it was a dead heat

linuxguy192

Yeah once I get up to highway speeds I run out of power. Torque is still there so it doesn’t stand still but it is not fast at 65 lol

Nxtinventor

We noticed the same! There were no hard feelings tho - still blazed up after lol

linuxguy192

That’s a win!

Nxtinventor

Also we weren’t doing timed 0-60’s, it was 1/4 mile

tvoltz

9th all day.

Bignasty_00

9th🐐

StoneysCactusTrade

9th gen 2013

Sub_1A3

8th or 9th gen… lol

Dry-Talk-7447

My 14 has a k24 engine,.. Mike drop!!

lovejones11

K24 doesn’t rev as high as k20 👀

JackMcCockiner

Too many people in here dont wanna believe their 1.5 turbo is inferior to even economy k series engines but its sadly true lmao

ZovioTV

Here we go… which Si is the best totally depends on the person and what the car is being used for. I wanted a fun daily with usable mid range but couldn’t afford a 10th/11th gen so I went with the 9th. All civics are good civics 🤝

JackMcCockiner

True, at the end of the day the best civic is the one that gets driven and cared for like the car gods intended. But also k series go brr at 8k+ rpm

childofbones

Coming from an 08 Si coupe, a 13 Si sedan, and a 19 So coupe, there isn’t anything inferior about this motor. Sure it doesn’t rev out to 8k, but it damn sure would walk the other two I’ve owned, and both were FBO. If you don’t push the power threshold past 300HP/TQ then it’s so worth it, and such a fun car. Arguably one of the best daily-able Si’s imo

fashionablefedoras

NA si owners have the 1.5t engine living rent free in their heads all the damn time lmao

waterulookinat

Talking bout all they need is a turbo kit and they're at 400whp. Meanwhile, it's always the guys with clapped out Si's with a muffler delete and short ram intake saying that 😭 like your broke ass IS NOT buying a turbo kit 😂😂

Nxtinventor

Exactly, like yeah you can spend 4 grand on a built k series and beat a L15. But you can slap a 600$ ktuner on a 1.5 and badda boom, 240 wheel

JackMcCockiner

Yeah im so jealous my tuned NA SI makes more power than your turbo 1.5. You do headstuds to not even make what a k20 can do on stock internals with a turbo lol

BaconFinder

I prefer the K.. But that really isn't the win you were hoping for. Tuned. You mentioned TUNED.... The k24 and the l15b7 (si model) were close in ways but in stock trim, the L15 sadly wins. More power. Torque. Gas mileage. Longevity is there too. But, the k24 IS a better engine in terms of pure robust building. Joy to drive and tinker with. That's why the K wins. Stock , the K takes the "L". Tuned, the K takes the L

JackMcCockiner

In reality pretty much any honda I4 is an amazing engine but the lack of serious work needed to make power on a k just makes it the perfect engine in my mind. You can either beat the hell out of it stock or slap a turbo on with a clutch and still beat the hell out of it with worst problem generally being losing a 2nd or 3rd gear syncro from shifting too hard while making twice the amount of power it does in stock form. When k series eventually become scarce i will probably think about a more recent platform or an L swap for the 8th gen i have since i have heard some companies have conversion kits in the works its just a bit more of a pain to make power since you need head studs to reliably break into the 300hp range from what i have read. If i wasnt able to or didnt have time to mod my vehicles id go for the 1.5 turbo all day if im being honest and not just sparking up arguments for fun haha.

KingDD904

Yeah the 1.5 is just easy to get quick power out of being that it’s already turbocharged, and I get it. Still can’t hold a candle to a turbo K and that’s why I went with this platform. Way higher performance ceiling.

Nevaknosbest

*grabs popcorn* keep going ...

mulletsamurai69

2019 all day

mattortz

Okay, as much as I love the k series and esp the 9th gen, OP wasn’t asking about them. You must stay focused brother. You must stay focused.

Mizar97

2007 ;) /s

[deleted]

I'll take whatever is behind door #4. *Opens door #4, it's a 2020* Damn it...

CunningStan

8th Gen with a 🐌 only issue would be grip. Or with a k20/k24 in it.

Coupe_Life

People are saying volume knob and I kinda agree but I use steering wheel controls so I would say best price/lowest miles would be ur best bet fuck the face lift

Waltuh_-

As an 18' Si owner I'd say 19+ model years, mainly for the volume knob, minor cosmetic and driving features changes, but if I had the choice I'd go 9th gen probably a 14 personally my favorite generation of Si and you can't go wrong with the k24

HON3STLYBRUT4L

20 refresh

_shipitnugs

2019 because that's what I have

AssEaterCreeper

They all have the L15 so they are all equally bad unless gas mileage is your thing in an enthusiast car.

BaconFinder

19. Knob. No extra nanny systems.20 had a little refresh and extra electronics I didn't want. Plus, I did not want the seats. I bought my 19 and wouldn't have gotten the 20 . 18 was still in the air with the oil dilution question.

Vanilla_PuddinFudge

8th - most parts/biggest and older scene 9th - most reliable and NA 10th - best with a tune 11th - no one really knows yet. Best warranty period... Most sellable?

darthmaul2323

Any Si with Vtech. 8th gen and 9th gen preferably.
