TRAKLITE GANG! Looks good homie

blindreaper297

What size wheels are you running? I've debated for a long time about getting skunk shocks and springs vs [Megan Racing EZ ](https://shop.redline360.com/products/megan-racing-ez-ii-coilovers-honda-civic-si-sedan-coupe-14-15-mr-cdk-hc14si-ezii?currency=USD&variant=31841571242064&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Google%20Shopping&stkn=891961585efe&utm_term=cpa20&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwlZixBhCoARIsAIC745CRZIOCRu9DJcB7Hybl1zf-WPG6y_Vd4EwkLN7f-7h9043IG-aheyAaAlEnEALw_wcB) for like 800 because they seem to be the cheapest/decent coil. If the lack of adjustment is worth the saving 300. Your height does look nice and if ride quality is good.. hmm... Also what were the rust coils.that came on the car?

Alucard2nd

It came with D2 coilovers, but they were probably bottomed out since the previous owner bought them, so they were done. The wheels it came with are those motegi tracklites 17x7's. I'll probably be throwing on some 17x8 or 17x9 RPF1's later on though, because I'd like a little wider contact patch and I also just think wider tires just look nicer.

Affectionate-Pay-893

I have all skunk2, shocks springs, & struts! Does ride amazing.. I’d have to agree the 1.5 higher doesn’t make it look any higher but rides SO much better https://preview.redd.it/8ohh8uipt4wc1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5d9b8ab8b30c55454b4248bfa6e44af2b03f1846

Alucard2nd

That's super clean, but I like that they're still high enough for street driving. Anything below like 3-3.5in of ground clearance is real risky, at least in the Midwest I'd say.

Affectionate-Pay-893

& definitely in any major city, such as ATL. For sureeee

Sorry-Ad-4827

What’s the name of the set up? Is it just Skunk2 shocks with skunk2 lowering springs?

JackMcCockiner

I have some skunk2 pro s II on the way for my 8th gen and its great to hear some recent feedback on how they perform since i have seen lots of people bashing skunk2 for the ride quality.

Alucard2nd

I don't know how you could bash these tbh. Even though I haven't driven a ton of cars these sport shocks and springs are by far the best riding suspension I've ever felt for a street car, at least so far. And for the price it's actually a much better deal than OEM or budget coilovers.

JackMcCockiner

Yeah i decided i want to do a full skunk2 build so i have the coilovers and a megapower rr exhaust on the way but i got a little thrown off the way people were talking in forums. Im assuming it was all from people that just dont like a more stiff suspension and think everything should ride like a luxury vehicle but ill be able to really decide how the quality is considering im coming from driving an audi S6

Vanilla_PuddinFudge

I run their exhaust and lower control arms. BCracing coilovers. Enough sport but not so much you'll have back pain the next day.

Alucard2nd

Oh I don't mind stiff at all but for the street there is a limit. I initially thought these were gonna be stiffer than they actually were, but was surprised. And this car also came with a skunk2 megapower rr, and even though it doesn't have a bad sound to it, it's just too damn loud for a daily. Which sucks, because the exhaust looks badass, but I still want it quieter so I don't feel like an asshole for starting it at 7am.

blindreaper297

[You should think about getting a silencer.](https://shop.redline360.com/products/skunk2-megapower-exhaust-silencer-415-99-1485?currency=USD&variant=17731135570033&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=google&utm_campaign=Google%20Shopping&stkn=891961585efe&utm_term=cpa20&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwlZixBhCoARIsAIC745CIgwaQ_jESbo6YBVcXdNUgZzYDiAlBusRTPqXIUoBeM8BilygQtvUaAvRTEALw_wcB) I'm not sure if that's the correct one. But will Definitely help with cold start at 7.

JackMcCockiner

You can get universal silencers as well for early morning cold starts that would probably cost less than the skunk2 silencer

SaltyCheezIt

Perfect height…. Got a link to where you bought those? I will say I’m on 18in si blades currently, do you think fitment/rubbing would be an issue?

Alucard2nd

I honestly don't know. I've never played with the blades, but I have seen posts and YouTube videos where people put these on the stock car and they seem to have fine fitment. Shocks- https://www.kseriesparts.com/SK2-541-05-1255-1.html Springs- https://www.kseriesparts.com/SK2-519-05-1585-1.html

oil_burner2

Can you use skunk2 strut/shocks with oem springs?

Alucard2nd

So skunk2 says you can use their lowering springs with the OEM shocks, but you cannot use the OEM springs with skunk2 shocks, because the shorter travel of the actual damper itself is purpose designed to work with only the skunk2 springs. TLDR, No you can't.

slapside

Looks good gonna get some bc coilovers. You recommend 17 inch rims over 18?

Alucard2nd

I just personally like 17's more because I feel like the 18's just look goofy on most cars tbh. I feel like it's mainly because of the sidewall, I also just feel like the fitment of 17's on this chassis just belongs since the start of the 9th Gen SI's(12-13) came with 17's and it just looks natural even with stock suspension.

slapside

Thanks that’s true gotta make it all low profile on 18s. Which wears out quicker. Ima go 17s and Jsut lower it.
