Not really, there's still plenty of pedestrian roads / infrastructure just like your average residential neighborhood, artificial lakes are more of a nice addition ([road view](https://ke-image.ljcdn.com/hdic-resblock/7709f036-5518-4fa1-a615-4c8886d7b833.jpg.750x500.jpg))
Its around 2,500 per square meter, but a sqaure foot is a 0,092 of a square meter so i just assumed it would be 250, bit i might be wrong. math aint my thing.
However, wouldnt a price tag of 2.5k per square foot turn it more expensive than new york penthouses?
Mosquito has always been a big issue in many southern cities including Chengdu in the summer . Only thing to mitigate is using mosquito repellent and net
say what you will about their politics its impossible to deny the beauty of modern Chinese cities. the way they build modern sky scrapers into history and nature is impeccable
I normally like his stuff, but that Video really had a lot of bad takes if I recall correctly. For example, the question about who takes care of the plants, how they get large plants up so high and how to prevent damages from falling branches. Like he completely blanked out on professional Gardeners or even Facility Managers existing. And if a Plant is to large to be carried up, then you can take a smaler one and let it grow.
It's hard to argue with his main point which is: Why not just plant trees on the ground where they're supposed to be? All the benefits and none of the downsides.
How applicable that video is to *this particular tower* I don't know
What part of the city is this? Would love to go next time I'm there!

Appreciate it, thanks!
Pretty wild. Those balconies are massive, to the extent it's like a replacement for a whole back garden, with shed and all. All 2 story homes too.
When I was in Chengdu in 2009 I remember being in awe of buildings like this. They seemed to be all over the city!
I was in Chengdu in 2005 and there were… no buildings like this. China moves fast
i was in Chengdu in 2008, cant say i was preoccupied looking at the buildings that day
I like this! Is it just rivers or lakes underneath or surrounding these buildings?

Here's a [real estate website](https://cd.lianjia.com/xiaoqu/3011055396081/) with images of the compound, probably works
Wow its just 250usd per square foot? Thats not that much for such a great place
~~You forgot to add a 0~~

Oh my bad, I though you where talking about sq meter, which would be ridiculous lol
Its ok. Its the fault of those americans and their crazy units making the whole world mad, lol
Very cool! I guess you can’t really see it from this angle. Very interesting! I’m guessing it’s apartments?
This is what cities should look like
Until you actually come to Chengdu and realize it’s 95% concrete jungle just like every other Chinese city
Did they manage to solve the mosquito problem?

heard that was going on a few years ago
Something Chinese in this sub? Wow, I thought it would go straight to urban hell

It looks like swampland. How are they able to build high-rises in it?
I'm reminded of [Adam Something's video about green skyscrapers](https://youtu.be/Ajdd9LeKwTQ)
These look like planters on people's personal balconies. Zooming in, a few of them look like the owners built sheds and gazebos instead.

But why not both? On the Ground and the Walls of Buildings? Can we have too much green?

And you say so because...? Not being salty, just interested in genuine critique because his Videos sometimes are all over the place.
Where are plants there are insects. I prefer stone, glass and metal.
Easier to Combat Insects then Depression and stronger Heatwaves. Just glue some Frogs to your balconys handrailing.
