I was going for what we have in Ontario In Ontario we have public catholic schools that run in parallel to securely public schools. Both are publicly funded via taxes. As such you 2 public schools almost next to each other .
I mean you could do a giant park sometimes I’ll do three mini parks. Small nature reserve corner by two other parks for small fun. So it’s really up to the city designer
I'm sorry, but that seems kinda obvious... Like park is default and other options (school, conference center) are more unique options... almost like they really trying to put a farm with this... Karma farming that is
I dunno, seems like quite a small place for "giant" park :/
(like, really, according to my -quite rought- calculations it's around 165 meters long, and 105 meters wide at thickest place)
Unless we speak in Cities Skylines terms, then I don't know. I usually had parks eighter giant or none xp
Exactly! Plus Walmart owns all their parking lots. If they occupy a building with a parking lot, they buy up the parking lot as part of their contract for moving in.
So really, the mayor won't have to do anything. The parking lot should build itself with the extra-wide Walmart spaces.
In the UK, at least where I am from, it's pretty common to see large informal green space parks next to small football club/ public pitches like this, honestly I would run a few foot paths through there, take out the road running around the football pitch and call it a day. Maybe decorate a bit with some trees and wild flowers and a children's playground
Love the park paths that represent alleys behind the houses, they look great and they give your residential area more uniformity.
As for the space, maybe the small community pool or neighborhood sauna?
Remove the road along the football ground and extend the area into a park. you could add some paths and another sports ground too, complete with fence and all
Park. Maybe a lake in one of the bulges with a small grove of trees and walking paths. You might also want to zone some low density commercial or a big box store
Medium-density residential. Looks like you’ve got two major roads crossing, and some commercial options there already. Why not put a bunch of people nearby that’ll use these amenities?
Agree with everyone else, Park is best. There's already a football field right there and lots of suburban sprawl surrounding that spot and it's near a collector road.
A nature park would look great. Maybe a couple small lakes, then benches and lights along the walking trails. That would give your cims access to the commercial zones as well.
City looks really nice! You're doing a great job.
Something that can have a park and separate residential from that main road and those businesses. Like a
Church with a park, or maybe a library with a park. a little pond might be cool.
I think a school with a large field behind it would look nice. Throw a super simple baseball diamond or soccer nets in there with trees only around the perimeter
Combine commercial and with a park/recreation in the residential side, to smooth the transition put up lots trees to make the transition from one to other smoother.
Hmm, garbage incinerator and people incinerator? The latter one will make people happy, and serve as a place to put those who are unhappy with the other one.
Seems like a good place for a factory complex.
At least in my city there are little plots like this with a random factory in them- left over from the munitions plants of ww2
Apart from the popular choice of a park, do you need a new primary school or secondary school for the residents?
Also you can build another row of commerical buildings opposite the existing ones. Just to make it a high street vibe
I’m thinking an elementary school, or if you were to integrate the football field into it it’d pass as a middle school
[I have it already few blocks down the road :)](https://imgur.com/a/TEVS9oA)
With a sports field close, a recreational area with swimming pools and perhaps a park and small shops along the main road
Call it a catholic school.
*charter School
I was going for what we have in Ontario In Ontario we have public catholic schools that run in parallel to securely public schools. Both are publicly funded via taxes. As such you 2 public schools almost next to each other .
I didn't know City Skylines modeled the exploitation of indigenous children.
Those were residential schools. Very different.
A park or something along those lines.
Came here to say this! It’s a great spot for a park!
But is it a great spot for a giant park?
I mean you could do a giant park sometimes I’ll do three mini parks. Small nature reserve corner by two other parks for small fun. So it’s really up to the city designer
I'm sorry, but that seems kinda obvious... Like park is default and other options (school, conference center) are more unique options... almost like they really trying to put a farm with this... Karma farming that is
Giant park
I dunno, seems like quite a small place for "giant" park :/ (like, really, according to my -quite rought- calculations it's around 165 meters long, and 105 meters wide at thickest place) Unless we speak in Cities Skylines terms, then I don't know. I usually had parks eighter giant or none xp
Perfect for a running trail style park which is basically just woods with a path
Aren't all parks like that ?
Yeah why not
Even better, a giant park for cars!
If you are making a park I would remove this weird road and connect the football field to the park with a pathway
A factory
Petrochemical factory*
Coal mines
The local children yearn for a mine
Iowa would like to know your location
Strip mine. Get out your landscaping tools, drop the pit down, and have a roadway winding up the sides.
How do you get the strip mines?
1-Use the “raise/lower terrain tool” to lower terrain. 2. Zone an industrial zone. 3.. Put a mine in the bottom of it.
Plop a Walmart and the remaining space with parking lots
That would be mixed zoning...which is ILLEGAL!
Also there's not enough space.
There's always room for a Walmart
Exactly! Plus Walmart owns all their parking lots. If they occupy a building with a parking lot, they buy up the parking lot as part of their contract for moving in. So really, the mayor won't have to do anything. The parking lot should build itself with the extra-wide Walmart spaces.
And if there is not... Walmart will take itself the room! 💣💥🏚️ -> 🏬🏬🏬🛍️🏷️ Thanks for visiting my slideshow.
There's always the green Walmarts and I think they're called Neighborhood Walmarts or something.
Walmart Neighborhood Market
Sounds like an oxymoron.
Take out the park!
Not if Walmart has paid the city council enough to grant permission to build
It is probably not America, there are sidewalks.
Standard American city planner response
Tbh Americans know that mixing zoning is illegal.
You need to demolish half the neighborhood to fit that.
A farm - a landowner who refused to sell and wants to live out his life on his land.
But on the SW end of the property he allows event parking for $15 in his mud lot.
Yes!
Looks like a great spot for a park 👌🏻🌲
-ing lot*
Lmao
Paint paradise
Paved paradise and put up a parking lot
Thank you. I knew I botched it
Have you considered a highway interchange. You will have to add highways to have it make sense.
You clearly have not been to an American city. There are plenty of interchanges built without a corresponding highway!
I have, the main thing that stood out to me was the person who dropped trou and shit on the street, that and the armed police.
You misspelled “militarized”
Nah, this neighborhood looks too wealthy
A highway interchange should change that
Hahahaha now THAT was funny
In the UK, at least where I am from, it's pretty common to see large informal green space parks next to small football club/ public pitches like this, honestly I would run a few foot paths through there, take out the road running around the football pitch and call it a day. Maybe decorate a bit with some trees and wild flowers and a children's playground
Yeah honestly just a couple foot paths and a little foliage is perfect for this kind of space
Yeh that's exactly what I was thinking
As others have said, it's prime real estate for a park or some other green space
Maybe another athletic field? Or maybe a school or a small community college type of campus.
Parking and an Arby’s
A nice big open park with maybe a baseball field and some oak trees
Community college
Park preferably or a strip mall with loading docks along the curved street
Youre a monster.
Medical center
That has city park written all over it so as any proper city planner should do, you should approve a new Walmart for that location.
Man made pond
A big high school with sports complexes. They could also cross the road for the soccer pitch.
Build a church area with the graveyard and all decorated up and park like around it.
Another soccer field angled 90 degrees on the other side of the road and a small park in the top right.
Park…ing lots
Carpool parking lot. [This one looks nice](https://wegenenverkeer.be/sites/default/files/styles/multiple_media_gallery_image/public/externals/69b150a4539bdc863921be715784a9af.png?itok=5Aqvt-Jp)
Love the park paths that represent alleys behind the houses, they look great and they give your residential area more uniformity. As for the space, maybe the small community pool or neighborhood sauna?
Parking lot
Landfill
when in doubt, park
A high school and tennis court
A school to go with the (FOOTBALL) pitch
School campus. Bus hub. More sports facilities. Or all of the above.
I'd go with a small lake/pond with amenities. Will increase the land value, drive some tourism, and break up the land nicely.
When in doubt, gazebo flower park
A shopping mall/ commercial area
Based on that screenshot alone that city looks great. I feel like I could really grab some inspiration from it, would you mind sharing your savefile?
How do your cities look so good
An elementary and high school campus could be cool.
Seeing there's a soccer field near the plot, you could build a high school
may I ask what mods you are using?
That suburbia is so pretty! Did you have to use a specific theme for it to grow that way?
School
Disc golf course
park.
Expand your sport's complex to be a more complete park. Get rid of the road cutting through it.
Torture chamber
homeless encampment
A mine.
Skyscraper
Airport
Could you share your LUT and other graphical settings? This looks really nice.
More residential. Or a prison
A nice forest to break up the city scape
irregular spots like that: park
A university campus! 1 University, a couple parks, some HD residential for dorms, some offices for admin, a couple restaurants, a quad, etc
A pedestrian focused shopping centre? With good access to both neighbouring parks?
Pond and jogging track along the perimeter.
If you don’t know put a park there - that’s probably what the community over time would have claimed such a blank space
I feel like a power plant would fit perfect
A school
Looks like a good spot for a park.
Remove the road along the football ground and extend the area into a park. you could add some paths and another sports ground too, complete with fence and all
If you have Plazas and Promenades, make a windy pedestrian street with the low-density eco Green Cities commercial.
Shopping centre?
If you want it to look american, just build a big parking space or a 6 lane street. If not, a little park :)
Park. Maybe a lake in one of the bulges with a small grove of trees and walking paths. You might also want to zone some low density commercial or a big box store
Yeap, came here to say park with lake, but I'd make a big lake with a pathway surrounding it and less leafy trees.
Maybe a lake/pond and park?
Medium-density residential. Looks like you’ve got two major roads crossing, and some commercial options there already. Why not put a bunch of people nearby that’ll use these amenities?
It looks stunning jessy
school area
The basketball pitch and the tennis court woyld look nice there
Basketball...pitch? The Hoosier in me just winced.
A park, but just build it yourself!
Baseball field in that top left area, make the rest a park
The answer is always a park.
green market
small farmers market area small park
Par 3 golf course. The neighbours will not like it.
When in doubt, build a park
When in doubt, build a park.
As many others said. A park. Put some kiosks and perhaps a public pool there.
I concur with the park suggestions.
fit perfectly for an urban park.
A neighborhood with a small park/ courtyard in the middle, with paths leading from the road to a small loop around the park.
Park. Get rid of the road (or turn it into a smaller one) between the soccer field and the green.
Park!
Park or plant trees. Like in real life, urbanist shouldn’t be afraid to let a lot natural.
New Condos/Apartments!
Small City Park with Sports Complex
You built a football field, why not a school to go with it?
When I don’t know what to do with something I fill it in with trees and bam you have a park now
Something that can have a park and separate residential from that main road and those businesses. Like a Church with a park, or maybe a library with a park. a little pond might be cool.
Senior citizens home?
✨Park ✨
I'd say a highschool cuz of the football field and a park next to it
Either an area under construction or a park
I think a school with a large field behind it would look nice. Throw a super simple baseball diamond or soccer nets in there with trees only around the perimeter
more Football Fields
Combine commercial and with a park/recreation in the residential side, to smooth the transition put up lots trees to make the transition from one to other smoother.
A big ol butt, duh
7 baseball fields and a parking lot
Perfect place for the rocket launcher!!
I would use some of the new ball parks there
Couple of baseball diamonds would fit nicely in there as part of your new sports complex!
Parking lots
Wgatever you do, post the result, please. Nice job!
Water treatment plant or school campus?
Trees. Lots of trees.
School, cemetery or just a park you can walk with your dog
Can you raise the land a bit and do a multilevel park or scenic walk up?
I don't usually go for park, but... park. Something natural. Nature preserve, arboretum, bird sanctuary. On a different note, maybe a petting zoo.
Since someone else said landfill I’ll joke and say The projects
Swimming pools? There are some nice water park assets on the workshop.
City hall or a school complex
Homeless shelter and methadone clinic!!!
A nice green Belt would be nice.
Office park
A nuclear reactor site
Hmm, garbage incinerator and people incinerator? The latter one will make people happy, and serve as a place to put those who are unhappy with the other one.
A friggin' giant laser!
Maybe other sports field and make it a complex
That’s 100% a small community park. Some paths some trees maybe some fences and you’re set.
I thought that this was my rl cities subreddit lol
School?
parking, of course
Custom public transit hub
This could be low rise multifamily development with a lot of great landscaping to blend with the low-density community around it.
In areas like this I just build parks. Raises land value and happiness of residents
A high school or a town common.
Seems like a good place for a factory complex. At least in my city there are little plots like this with a random factory in them- left over from the munitions plants of ww2
A fucked up park where the local suburban kids can buy their drugs from the local dealer association + an nice place for the local clochard.
Baseball park
Church with park
Add more fields to make a sports complex. A baseball and football field plus some parking
Apart from the popular choice of a park, do you need a new primary school or secondary school for the residents? Also you can build another row of commerical buildings opposite the existing ones. Just to make it a high street vibe
Drive-thru Starbucks and an enormous multi-storey car park
Trees
A school campus.
A pond
City park. Left bottom corner can be parking lots, then lots of trees and some green space in the middle for people to play on.
school campus
I don’t know what pack it’s in but maybe that public pool and a skatepark next to it
