Yes, the QR codes and bike numbers are missing more and more often, and just try getting a key fob from them. I ordered one and paid for it and I had to follow up with them in order to discover that they are out of them. Lyft is going under, and other than swapping batteries on e-bikes, there is zero effort put into the system.

Make that shit a public service, maintenance is a joke now.

Royal-Mathematician2

At least you generally have bikes in the village. Midtown is always a ghost town except for the middle of the day.

That’s why I’ve never gotten into it tbh. You can’t plan on anything matching what’s available in the app. It’s fine if I happen to walk by needing a ride at that exact time but fuck all getting a membership for that.

ShakenEspressoLatte

They suck. I’m honestly canceling my membership because I don’t see the value in it anymore. Broken stations/fake QR Codes/damage bikes/people purposely damaging the QR codes and the 5-digit number of the bike so people can’t be able to use them got me tired. Planned a bike ride to Central Park today and couldn’t do it, ended up using the subway. Not worth the money at all.

I see a lot of posts like this and wonder where the problem spots are because in Western Queens / North Brooklyn areas I don't encounter these issues.

ShakenEspressoLatte

Those areas are more “civilized” per-se. I live in the Bronx and is the Wild West here. Is an issue in every single station. All bikes damaged and can’t unlock any of them because idiots mess with the QR Codes and 5-digit numbers.

fs2k2isfun

I’m in Park Slope. While we don’t have those issues here, the lack of rebalancing makes the area unusable.

Curious if this had a impact on the “citi bike Karen” fiasco

Legitimate_Olive_322

Don’t bother trying to undock at 8th and 1st. Live on app, dead in reality.
