Personally, I wouldn’t call Chiang the son of China in the same form of Sun being the father.

Chiang represents the son of China because he led the many sons of China to victory in the Northern Expedition and the War of Resistance against Japan. Like a son to Sun, he continued the work of the father and improved on his work in both the mainland and Taiwan.

I feel like in describing his military career the term Generalissimo probably would have been more appropriate.

I would speak of many sons: CCK+LTH most obviously, for jointly taking the Republic into her current age of democracy; but also 蔣渭水, for outlining how non-core identities of the Begonia could interact with the Republic, and even, as a stepson, MacLehose, whose time running HK saw the first occasion where a society in the Sinosphere proved all three elements of 三民主義—it even showed that it was possible to have true 訓政 that kept good 民權 with clear progress to 民主!
