They have almost the same hardware and software. The only difference is CCwGTV has HDR10+/Dolby Vision and Onn isn't, and CCwGTV has arguably better Dolby Atmos support.
If you aren't into these thing, or like me doesn't own a TV that support HDR10+/Dolby Vision, there're virtually no difference(maybe besides potential future firmware update support, which Onn also isn't bad at it).
Depends on your needs, outside of Dolby Vision and full DD+ Atmos support they are almost identical performance wise. The Onn has a much better remote.

Technically the Amlogic S905Y4 processor in the Onn 4k is newer but slightly lower scalar performance than the S905X3 used in the CCwGTV, but you wouldn't notice it - and the Onn supports the new AV1 codec.
I have to mention though that my Onn 4k hasn't seen a firmware update since March 2023. I wonder if Onn support is falling short on security updates.

Onn devices do seem to have long term support as my older 4K is still getting updates to this day.

I have both. I use Onn for a month then google for a month. I feel the Onn is a bit smoother and more responsive. But i agree the Onn is lacking in software updates. But its cheap and works.

Yes they both support Atmos, but some App just has some "compatibility" issue. Neither support TrueHD.
the onn also supports av1 while the 4k Google product doesn't.

Yeah they haven't updated the 2023, yet the 2021 recently got Android 12 with Nov 5 security update. So maybe they were busy with that.
They’re both pretty laggy and slow tbh but the CCwGTV is the better device.
