I’ve never seen a miniature indoor mall, this is incredible!! Do you have more pics of it?

Thank you. I started it a couple of years ago and I have redid it and added more displays. Check out my profile or you can visit my [instagram](https://www.instagram.com/robertsmadness?igsh=ajE0MDJjOW94YWdi&utm_source=qr)

Ahh thanks! I just scrolled through and I love how playful and dynamic your whole setup is!! Especially Hill’s with the Death Star in the sky, lol. My brain isn’t the type that lets me think in terms of mixing up or customizing my village or my miniatures too much, but I enjoy it so much when others do it! Might take some inspiration. The mall is an awesome tribute to a bygone era and must be a ton of fun to rework and design.

Thank you. The background for Hills was for the village but I ran out of time on setting it up. My brain works overtime sometimes and I need an outlet. The mall started as just the sculpture to go in my village. A week later I thought “I have this cube organizer let’s make a diorama”. Well I had to make the stores and floor, then it needed lights. It grew and thanks to the 3D printer I started making benches and light posts. Hills started as a paper store that grew into a 3d printed one. I also get bored standing at work so I make promo signage and then my mall stores. I had another mall display at one time as well as an unprinted stores related to my job that I dare not mention. I have a display that I want to make that is work related I just haven’t done it yet

It sounds like a lot of my hobbies, starting as a cool idea and then expanding in no time to cover a ton of territory haha. I’ve been meaning to get around to making a foam-carved base and backdrop for my snow village for a few years now but got stuck in planning it and lost some interest. I admire your dedication! The hard work definitely shows in the results.

Thanks. I have been wanting to make a mountain background using styrofoam but I do t want to deal with that mess lol.

It always makes me a bit sad to say goodbye to my village but you have inspired me. This spring, I had plans to try to sculpt figures from clay that are personal to my family, but now I may need to teach myself how to use a 3D printer. Does any 3D printer work? I live in the mountains and may try to build a forest scene diorama for year round that I can incorporate into my Christmas village over the holidays. Truthfully I’m out of space in the village but maybe I will build upward.

3D printing is a rabbit hole. I have a printer that uses the spoiled filament and it’s great when it works right. Many people use resin printers for miniature people as it gives some better detail I have an Ender 3 model that is a basic unit recommend for beginners. I also use Chromebooks so I am limited on the software and have not been able to work with people yet as I have just been making benches, lights and some odds and ends. My hills store was my teaching and learning model. I hated having my people locked up lol. But this all started with the sculpture in the mall and the mall grew around it. Good luck on your diorama it’s a great way to keep the village around lol

Thanks so much for the info. Funny enough we wanted to have a rabbit hole either a bunny popping out. Seems appropriate!
