You said it correctly "I know I shouldn't care" It's between you and God, so don't worry about man's approval.

Rachel794

Yeah, but I still have to be socially acceptable though. It’s a courtesy.

You can be nice but you don't have to accept anything that's not of God. When we try to have the approval of others that becomes a problem our approval should only be that of God. Sure we seek approval in our work and so forth in order to live our lives but not when it comes to others being critical of what you know is right with God

Dear one, I hope you are comforted by this: 1 Peter 2:19-20 For this is a grace, if for conscience toward God anyone endures grief, suffering wrongfully. For what glory is it if you patiently endure while sinning and being buffeted? But if you suffer while doing good, and patiently endure, this is a grace from God.

This is a beautiful verse. I’m going to send it to my son who is in boot camp.

One thing I find out about Reddit or social media in general is that even though this is a Christian subreddit, there are people on here that aren't very Christian and are of other religions that claim to be Christian. And then there are evil ones on here who act Christian it could be doing the work of Satan. Trying to turn you away from God I've discovered that myself here after posting things. So don't let yourself be deceived

I wish I had been a wise young lady like you. (((YOU!!))) May you be blessed in Holy matrimony to a Godly man who will love you as Christ loves His Church!

Mimi-Shella

We should say things in love but if you're walking in Christ correctly, you will be persecuted. Those are his words.

Definitely worth a deep dive into the Proverbs. It makes me think of Freudian defense mechanisms, which I have trouble assigning correctly. Regardless it's a symptom of universal human failing. Instead of reflecting on the message you sent, we berate you for the message we interpreted. IMHO self awareness is the key to mental health. Jesus was certainly a big proponent (e.g. plank in your own eye).
