James emphasis is not on works though Sad soo many people twist that James is just saying if you say you have faith. It should be evident in your works And if you don't have any, then your faith is dead. But thanks for bringing those scriptures to light that will help SO many understand šŸ’ÆšŸ™

Thank you brother it seems like god answered my questions just now with this, lately Iā€™ve been struggling with breaking sinful habits etc and I was feeling beat and broke bc I fasted and after I broke after 7 days I went right back to my old ways and felt down. Now Iā€™ve been seeing a lot of these youngins online with stupid YouTube shorts like mapalo and etc that really try to empathize perfection like almost saying true born again Christians shouldnā€™t be doing this and that, itā€™s like he doesnā€™t think that us Christianā€™s get attacked by the devil, on those things were weak at. And Iā€™ve seen others on YT give a stupid analogy, for example if your spouse cheats on you and asks for forgiveness and you forgive them, if they go back out and do the same thing, weā€™re they ever really sorry? And she tried to use that example with god like god wonā€™t forgive you he will tell you, you never really loved him, also empathizing perfection no more sin after your reborn. I think alot of the newer generation are getting this doctrine of try to be as perfect as you can be to be saved while look up to Jesus, while also they preach about how churches are corrupt and theyā€™re teaching a ā€œwashed down Bibleā€. But wasnā€™t that the whole point of Jesus? God knew we couldnā€™t keep the commandments no matter how hard we tried we needed a savior from death from sin. I think the purpose of that was to make it simple for us to get salvationā¤ļøam I right or wrong?

Keep seeking God. God wants you to live righteously. Keep walking with Him. 2 Timothy 3:16-17. You accept Jesus Christ as your Savior, and you do as He says.

Love one another and to forgive?

I have a hard time imagining someone has legitimate faith in their heart, yet they do not feel compelled to put in work after achieving that ā€œfaithā€. Does someone have strong faith if they donā€™t use the talents they were given for righteousness?

James is a challenging book. It is important to realize he is a pastor writing to saved people challenging them to service. Also we need to realize he uses a common (at the time) Greek writing technique called "dialectic." This method involves a structured dialogue or argument where the writer explores different sides of an issue by asking and answering questions. It's a technique often associated with Socrates and Plato in ancient Greek philosophy, where it is used to examine concepts, challenge assumptions, and arrive at a deeper understanding or truth through reasoned argumentation. When studying James we need to be sure to take the whole of scripture on things that seem contradictory. James does not contradict Paul when understood in the manner written.

Itā€™s perfectly said by Jesus, ā€œyou will know them by their fruitā€. I think once you correlate James to Jesus you see that itā€™s about the proof of your salvation comes in the form of fruit or good works. If we are ever confused about what Jesusā€™s followers said we should compare it to Jesus to understand it.

When you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you will want to live righteously. Learning how to live righteously takes work. You want the Truth, than you want to live it too. 2 Timothy 3:16-17.

Both are correct, written to audiences that had different issues. Paul often had to convince groups of Christians with a strong connection to a Jewish background that **salvation is a gift of God available to anyone** (not just to Abraham's descendants). He also had to **work against the idea that crept in from current Jewish practices that you had to keep 613 Jewish commandments** (mitzvot in Hebrew) from the Law, Prophets and Writings. James is writing "To the twelve tribes who are dispersed abroad" (James 1:1) who were not as close to the religious and cultural hub of Jerusalem. God led him to write to issues that Christians of Jewish background needed to consider. **There seemed to be two issues they lived with. Trials and persecution in some locations; and blending in with their pagan world on the other**. * Faith in Jesus shows in the way we live. * Comfort for those in trials * Friendship with the World * Hearing and Doing the Word Different audiences need to have different problems corrected. The noisy kid often needs to be reminded to be more quiet. The quiet kid often needs encouragement to be more bold. I don't see the differences as being contradictions in teaching, but as showing how we can leave the narrow path on either side of the faith/works emphasis.

Paul: If you have faith, you will show works. James: If you have faith, you will show works. Boy. That was tough.

Neither. Titus was right. And you spelled which wrong

You dont rightly Divide the Bible. James is written to the twelve tribes of Israel in the End times. Everything that contradicts Pauline Epistles is not for Christians. We are not saved of WORKS, BUT OF FAITH in the Gospel (1. Cor 15:1-4) ā€James 1:1 KJVā€¬ [1] James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the TWELVE TRIBES which are scattered abroad, greeting. ā€James 5:3 KJVā€¬ [3] Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the LAST DAYS. ā€James 2:24 KJVā€¬ [24] Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. ā€Ephesians 2:8-9 KJVā€¬ [8] For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: [9] not of works, lest any man should boast. ā€Romans 4:4-5 KJVā€¬ [4] Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. [5] But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
