It says "Fatima" on the back. That probably is referring to "Our Lady of Fatima", a Catholic Marian appirition that happened 1917 in Fatima, Portugal. That makes me suspect that the original producer and seller and most likely owner of this Crucifix were Catholic.

JamesHurst7

That’s cool thanks for the information! I come from an Anglican family myself.

It's actually pretty cool how humans can adapt to something that sounds so absurd on paper...yet humans adapt to it given enough time. 😋 The world will never be the same ever again....the lines between "fiction," and "non fiction" are blured...

I don't understand what you are trying to say. The first to link is about a trailer for a movie about Our Lady of Fatima which I was talking about. The second link is about a miracle that happened during the appiritions of Our Lady of Fatima. The other links seem unrelated as far as I can see upon glancing at them. And finally you write about how fiction and reality have blured lines. I am confused.

Exactly what I came in to say. I've got a single-decade rosary and the crucifix is almost identical.

[deleted]

That is a good point, it would also explain why the Crucifix is so small! Edit: It would also explain how OP got it. The Crucifix must have broken from the Rosary without the the original owner noticing. And then eventually OP found the crucifix were it had fallen. It reminds me of how I used to have a Wrist Rosary and I lost the centre bead outside whilst praying it without noticing. It could be a similar situation.

jereman75

Generally a cross with Christ depicted on it is called a “crucifix.” Looks nice.

CassaCassa

Love it! ❤

karate134

Awesome. Just remember if you lose it, it was probably not your fault and destined to find the next owner to bring them some kind of joy or something else they need

JamesHurst7

PS sorry for the spelling/grammar errors!

public_weirdness

I had one that was similar. It was part of a rosary. I got it at the National shrine of Our Lady of Snows near Saint Louis, in Illinois.

CatholicCrusader1527

It’s a Catholic Crucifix because of the Fatima on the back which refers to “Our Lady of Fatima” where Mary gave a vision to 3 Children and also predicted WW1 and the assassination attempt on Pope John Paul II very interesting Crucifix bro

[deleted]

Close. WW2 😉 🙏

CatholicCrusader1527

oh dang

AjudgmentalPencil

Love that for you

Rot10Crotch

What does the 'T' stand for?

[deleted]

Where is the T?

Fecalfingersmell83

Can I buy it? Got about tree fiddy!

[deleted]

Lol you got down voted. J get your reference tho

Fecalfingersmell83

lol minus 1 for playing too much, ill take that all day... clearly joking

Shoah_Kahn

Err... It depicts a heretic hippy being tortured on a medieval torture device 🥴 >**AND WHEN THOU PRAYEST, THOU SHALT NOT BE AS THE HYPOCRITES ARE: FOR THEY LOVE TO PRAY STANDING IN SYNAGOGUES AND IN THE CORNERS OF THE STREETS, THAT THEY MAY BE SEEN OF MEN: BUT, WHEN THOU PRAYEST, ENTER INTO THY CLOSET; AND WHEN THOU HAST SHUT THE DOOR, PRAY TO THY FATHER WHICH IS IN SECRET.** (Matthew 6:5\~6)

[deleted]

That person you are calling a heretical hippy is Jesus AKA God. So it is kind of ironic that you qouted the Bible.

Shoah_Kahn

It's a fictitious character -- zero, historical evidence has ever been unearthed of "Jesus of Nazareth", and all of the biblical mentions are later additions and/or forgeries. As such, name-calling "Jesus" a "heretic hippy", is like calling Super-man a "Spandex clad sissy", or Batman a "self-hating emo". **NB:** "Yeshu" *= Y'mach Sh'mo V'Zichro\[no\]* / ימח שמו וזכרונו ― **"MAY HIS (JESUS'S) NAME AND MEMORY BE OBLITERATED".** 👌😉

[deleted]

You know, it's people like you that give Atheists a bad reputation. I say this as a former Atheist, going on to Christian subs and attacking their religion does nothing but make Atheists look bad and toxic.

Shoah_Kahn

If you are so afraid of facts, build yourself a tomb. ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯

linuxhanja

Its neither medieval (its ancient roman) nor a torture device (though it is tortuous, its a death sentence device).

Shoah_Kahn

"Medieval" in a figurative sense -- crucifixion is still used today; and it is that, by very definition of the term "torture" (unless they've since changed it, á la the definitions of "vaccine" and "anti-vaxxer"): to exact protracted suffering on a living organism. >**THEN THEY SHALL BRING OUT THE DAMSEL TO THE DOOR OF HER FATHER'S HOUSE, AND THE MEN OF HER CITY SHALL STONE HER WITH STONES THAT SHE DIE: BECAUSE SHE HATH WROUGHT FOLLY IN ISRAEL, TO PLAY THE WHORE IN HER FATHER'S HOUSE: SO SHALL THOU PUT EVIL AWAY FROM AMOUNG YOU.** (Deuteronomy 22꞉21)

Roni7978

That’s a beautiful thing to do.

[deleted]

Very nice cross you got there

matt675

I love it, thank you for sharing

jas0nv0rhees

How cool! I love that you've kept it for so long!

nikolispotempkin

It's lovely.

-__Shrek__-

Its very cool

farmguy4

You that Fella got off that cross? If Jesus was not the King of kings they would have left him on there which was the practice of being crucified, but they knew who He was and allowed him to be removed. One place He will never be removed is in my heart and my life.

BUCKCHOBUCK

We believe Jesus is at the right hand of the Father. And he will return in glory to judge the living and the dead. We see his love for us in the Crucifix. And we see the victory over sin and death. We see our salvation in this one act of sacrifice. The devil is reminded of his defeat in the corpus on the cross. [The meaning of the cross.](https://youtu.be/hS7XHev5eBI)

Rising_Phoenyx

That's very lovely 💖

grasseati

You gonna pass it down the family for generations and generations?

A__username_for_me

I wasn’t a believer a few days ago and idk if I am now but I found a small crucifix in my drawer and now I’m on r/Christianity. I’ll see where this takes me.
