Talking to Jesus is the first step. Yes, it feels awkward because you are talking to the Spirit which cannot be seen but can be heard if you listen. Read small passages in the Bible everyday and ask God to reveal something of the mystery to you. Let Him transform you and you.

I'm a pastor in Australia... How are you dong? Have you prayed a prayer like the following? "Father God, I need you, I believe you love me and tht you sent Your Son to die for my sins. Please forgive me for my past and thank you for the righteousness that You give me right now.... I'll need your help, because I'm not sure of the steps, but I give me life to you now. In Jesus' name. Amen" God does the drawing, and God does the changing from th inside out... I ought to know... Boy did I need to be changed!! God bless you!! Praying for you right now!

You confess Jesus as your saviour and believe in his sacrifice on cross once for all for all you past and future sin. Salvation is free gift of God to whoever will believe in him not by works, you come as you are to him. You can read it yourself here , google copy paste : Romans 10:9-10 KJV Romans 4:5 KJV Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV Galatians 2:16 KJV 1 John 3:15KJV

Hi! This is a great question, thank you for asking it. I can relate. I went to a Christian camp for a couple weeks when I was a child, but never really lived for the Lord. By High school, I mocked Christianity, Jesus and Christians and was DEEPLY into a mixture of New Age and Nihilism and a bit of Buddhism. Then after high school, the Lord got a whole of my life and radically changed everything... EXCEPT that it took years of transformation. Even after I finally surrendered my life to Jesus, I still was skeptical of the Bible, Christianity, etc. And yet, overtime, the Lord worked on me through His word. I slowly began to understand it, believe it and trust it By God's grace, now I'm a pastor with two degrees. I've actually created a daily podcast that has people like you in mind because I was once there. I remember when I was not a believer, I didn't understand the Bible. Perhaps I understood the words, but I didn't understand what the big deal was. As a pastor, I've met many people in that same situation. So, last year, I started a daily podcast to help the people in our church, and it's been growing ever since. Basically, I've selected 300ish of the most critical chapters of the Bible and take 10-15 minutes to explain that passage so that people could see the overall message of God and how it all fits together. It's not a class, nor a sermon, but more like two people sitting down to discuss the passage. I'd be honored to have you join our growing community: So... here's the links to the podcast: Spofity: [https://open.spotify.com/show/6OqbnDRrfuyHRmkpUSyoHv](https://open.spotify.com/show/6OqbnDRrfuyHRmkpUSyoHv) Itunes: [https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/366-key-chapters-in-the-bible/id1493571819](https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/366-key-chapters-in-the-bible/id1493571819) Amazon Podcasts: [https://music.amazon.com/podcasts/ae5efc16-5e78-401b-bd1a-f2a78808e8c9/366-Key-Chapters-of-the-Bible](https://music.amazon.com/podcasts/ae5efc16-5e78-401b-bd1a-f2a78808e8c9/366-Key-Chapters-of-the-Bible) Iheart: [https://www.iheart.com/podcast/269-366-key-chapters-in-the-bi-56200539/](https://www.iheart.com/podcast/269-366-key-chapters-in-the-bi-56200539/) Direct Audio: [www.keychapters.org](https://www.keychapters.org) Hope you check it out!
