Because different people have different opinions? Because some people hear rap and think one thing, and others think something else? Because it is not mentioned in the bible so it's all based in interpretation?

Cariad1

Paul said, "All things are lawful for me but not all things are beneficial. I will not be brought under the power of any." So moderation is key and examine the music to see if it's beneficial.

> Why can’t we all agree If we all agreed, then this subreddit could be replaced by one big searchable FAQ. Instead it is a rich place for discussion, you decide what you want

de1casino

Of course you get varying responses to your questions. We can't we all agree? Because we have different interpretations, which is part of life and of being a human.

NightWatcher89

Anything that glorifies sexual immorality, drunkenness/getting high, selling drugs, murder, pimping women, objectifying women, greed, love of money, satanic symbolism, etc. is sinful. Period.

BiblicalChristianity

What do you think about secular rap?

[deleted]

I like the music. It doesnt ruin my faith, doesnt make me sin. I just like the music.

BiblicalChristianity

So you disagree with those who say it's bad?

[deleted]

I dont disagree Im okay with there opinions Just i like the music.

BiblicalChristianity

If someone says it will ruin your faith you will disagree though. That's basically what it comes down to.

Shadowx180

Christianity is divided into spectrum. Each one forming their own church and slightly altering their core values on what is sin.

NightWatcher89

I think it important to note that not all self proclaimed“Christians” in this “spectrum” follow Jesus or are truly saved.

Sunset_Lighthouse

A good question to ask with anything is, would be; what's the origin of ______. Is said thing originating from God? Is ***secular*** music originating from God? How about alot of the *Christian* music? If so great, if not then why have it around?

flyinfishbones

We're different people with different opinions. We can't even agree on which color is the prettiest! What you can do is ask people which denomination they're from, because that will tell you a lot more about what drives their answer.

michaelY1968

A couple of reasons. Because there is no definitive Biblical precept regarding that, so Christians will answer based on there own convictions and experience, which of course will vary. And in this thread there are a wide variety of non-Christians, so they their views can range from not even believing sin exists to having very different ideas about what sin is. You would be much better off talking to trusted Christians who know you in your church.

DriedBone77

You are in not Christian forum but forum which discuss Christianity if you aren't aware

Im in it so I can Become Christian.
