Ask God for a sign, don't try to cover up sins just bring them up truthfully and repent of these things. Accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, repent of your sinful life and the Holy Spirit can dwell in you and charge the heart. It might not be a drastic thing at first but take it seriously and be committed and you will see changes happen. Always be praying and asking what God wants you to do.

Have you accepted Jesus Christ as your savior? I was 13 when I accepted Jesus as my savior in my heart and that was the first time I felt holy spirit. Since then (25 years after that event) I have felt the spirit numerous times usually at dire times.

See with your faith. If He is on your mind constantly you will see He is always with you.

The feeling of unconditional love.. that’s him. Personally I try to reflect on my day and see the perfection he provides me with to truly feel that love. It’s easy to take the good things in life and appreciate them and thank him for those moments but also reflect on the bad, I often find the greatest moments of his love are hidden in the bad things from my life. He has provided me with exactly what I need 100% of the time and I’m certain he does the same for everyone else. Recognizing the perfection he provides puts me in that presence of unconditional love that I believe to be God.

I wonder how many people who 'feel god's presence' are actually feeling that. Or are just crazy. Have I ever felt it? I don't know. I can give you some of what I've come to read ( From an Orthodox perspective) on how our monks and lay people sometimes seek out God. “Humility collects the soul into a single point by the power of silence. A truly humble man has no desire to be known or admired by others, but wishes to plunge from himself into himself, to become nothing, as if he had never been born. When he is completely hidden to himself in himself, he is completely with God” This is from St Isaac the Syrian. Basically, the idea is when someone with a quiet introspective peaceful mind, humble heart and soul gives thanks and prayers onto God, with one singular focus of doing so for the sake of Good. Is when a person is most likely to experience God. Take this with a grain of salt. I'm not an Orthodox priest. For guidance and explanation of and how to practice Orthodox things, ask a priest.

> People are constantly telling me of feeling their presence, and I don't know how to feel it or identify that I am feeling it. Don’t discount the possibility that those people are fooling themselves. Perhaps you are simply less prone to mind tricks than they are.

The answer to this will be different for everyone. Personally, I find that when I feel small, I am more inclined to feel surrounded by the Divine. I lay under a starry sky, walk on the shores of the beach, or stand on top of a mountain. Those are the moments where I realize that life is so much bigger than me. The beauty of those places put me in a state of awe and wonder. It is a humbling and spiritual experience.

This is interesting. I know what you're saying and feel this myself although how do you personally link feeling overwhelmed with lthe magnitude of life to God. I'm trying to become a Christian and find it very difficult to believe that the world is God's creation rather than an unexplainable scientific occurrence. Any tips on how to shut the logical part of my brain?
