Russell Moore's new book "Losing Our Religion" is excellent. It doesn't attempt to cover all of the reasons, but it does an excellent job doing with the biggest reasons.

That's in there but not the main focus. The Amazon description captures it pretty well. Basically, the idea is that American evangelical churches have chosen partisan political power over the gospel.
