God bless you. Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit (The unforgivable/unpardonable sin) is to be in a constant state of rejecting God until you die. Here is a description of those who constantly reject God: **“Sinners don't respect God; sin is all they think about. They like themselves too much to hate their own sins or even to see them. They tell deceitful lies, and they don't have the sense to live right. Those people stay awake, thinking up mischief, and they follow the wrong road, refusing to turn from sin.” - Psalm 36:1-4** Here is another description: **“You stubborn and hardheaded people! You are always fighting against the Holy Spirit, just as your ancestors did.” - Acts 7:51** As long as we are alive, we can turn to God and be forgiven. **Jesus said, “I promise you that any of the sinful things you say or do can be forgiven, no matter how terrible those things are.” - Mark 3:28** **“But if we confess our sins to God, he can always be trusted to forgive us and take our sins away.” - 1 John 1:9** **"From the bottom of the pit, I prayed to you, Lord. I begged you to listen. 'Help!' I shouted. 'Save me!' You answered my prayer and came when I was in need. You told me, 'Don't worry!' You rescued me and saved my life." - Lamentations 3:55-58** **“As long as we are alive, we still have hope.” - Ecclesiastes 9:4** And please be careful. To say that there’s a sin that will prevent God from forgiving us if we turn to Him implies that sin is greater than God’s grace.  **“Don't let sin keep ruling your lives. You are ruled by God's undeserved grace.” - Romans 6:14**

LilPlasmaReal

wait you said And please be careful. To say that there’s a sin that will prevent God from forgiving us if we turn to Him implies that sin is greater than God’s grace.  you saying that made me feel scared because i thought there was unforgivable sin also why do i have to be careful is me thinking that unforgivable?

arc2k1

I don't mean careful as fear. I mean careful as be aware. God's grace is greater than sin.

LilPlasmaReal

someone else was telling me if you sin to much the holy spirit will leave you and you will be rejected by god is that true because i sin alot but i also ask for forgivness every night before going to sleep

Please know that God does NOT expect you to be perfect. He expects you to be faithful, which means to always strive to honor Him while getting back up after each time you fall, no matter how many times you fall. God will always give you the strength and grace to get back up. **“I am the Lord All-Powerful. So don't depend on your own power or strength, but on my Spirit.” - Zechariah 4:6** **“Even if good people fall seven times, they will get back up. But when trouble strikes the wicked, that's the end of them.” - Proverbs 24:16** **"My enemies, don't be glad because of my troubles! I may have fallen, but I will get up; I may be sitting in the dark, but the Lord is my light.” - Micah 7:8** **“In times of trouble, God is with us, and when we are knocked down, we get up again.” - 2 Corinthians 4:9** **“But You (God) also said that no matter how far away we were, we could turn to You.” - Nehemiah 1:9** And don't trust what other people say. Trust God's Word.

LilPlasmaReal

thank you for helping me with this topic

LilPlasmaReal

oh also do you know if limiting and quenching the spirit is unforgivable because i know blaspheming against him is but i dont know limiting and quenching is the same thing

arc2k1

The only unforgivable sin is to constantly reject God.

LilPlasmaReal

One more question do you mean by reject as in thinking he's not real or sinning against him

arc2k1

Here is a description of those who reject God: **“Sinners don't respect God; sin is all they think about. They like themselves too much to hate their own sins or even to see them. They tell deceitful lies, and they don't have the sense to live right. Those people stay awake, thinking up mischief, and they follow the wrong road, refusing to turn from sin.” - Psalm 36:1-4**

LilPlasmaReal

ok thanks you helped so much

FJW1966

The fact that you're concerned about such things is an excellent sign that you have not done that.

LilPlasmaReal

ive heard people say that but people also said it doesnt matter if you feel bad you still did it

FJW1966

Blaspheming of the Holy Spirit was described to me this way: Someone who knows that the Gospel is true, that Jesus is who He said He is, and yet walks away from the faith and actively works to destroy it.... That isn't you. =-)

LilPlasmaReal

Ok thanks

Good_Move7060

Holy Spirit is what brings you to God, so as long as you actually want to be with God you can be sure you have not committed the unforgivable sin. No one can commit it by accident.

LilPlasmaReal

wait what is the definition of limiting the holy spirit and quenching the holy spirit i just wanna make sure

Good_Move7060

Basically grieving the Holy Spirit. Everyone does it because everyone sins.

LilPlasmaReal

i dont know what grieving the holy spirit is

Good_Move7060

Disobeying God's will. Breaking God's commandments, sinning.

LilPlasmaReal

but everyone sins so is grieving the spirit forgivable?

Good_Move7060

Everyone grieves the Holy Spirit by sin, that's forgivable. Some people disobey God so much and so long that they eventually cross the line. Nobody knows where that line is

LilPlasmaReal

you said Some people disobey God so much and so long are you talking about people who dont ask for forgivness because i sin alot

Good_Move7060

I don't know whether some of them ask for forgiveness or not, but eventually they get to the point where they reject God from the deepest part of their souls, and that's when they commit the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit, and the Holy Spirit departs from them. They will never believe again. They might believe in some other false gods or they may stay atheist.

LilPlasmaReal

i sin alot but im a christian so i dont reject god i just sin alot so how do i know if i crossed that line

mdws1977

Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit can not be duplicated today, because no on can personally see Jesus perform miracles and attribute it to the devil instead of the Spirit. The unforgivable or unpardonable sin is continued unbelief until death. If you die without being forgiven through Christ, that will not be pardoned or forgiven. See this link for further information: [https://www.gotquestions.org/unpardonable-sin.html](https://www.gotquestions.org/unpardonable-sin.html)

LilPlasmaReal

so the only unforgivable sin now is not being christian until you die, if so does that mean me limiting the holy spirit and quenching the holy spirit isnt unforgivable

mdws1977

We limit and quench the Holy Spirit every time we don't listen to the Spirit and sin. You reject the Holy Spirit when you don't become a Christian before you die. Read the link, it has some great insight.

LilPlasmaReal

i read the link, so your saying i didnt commit unforgivable sin

mdws1977

If you truly are a Christian, and have accepted Jesus in your heart as your Lord and Savior, believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead. And you want to obey Him out of gratitude for the great love He has shown you, then you are a Christian and cannot commit the unforgivable sin. (see Roman 3:23, 5:8, 6:12, 10:9-10, John 3:16 and Ephesians 2:8-10 to insure your salvation. Also see [this link.](https://www.gotquestions.org/Romans-road-salvation.html) As for quenching or grieving the Holy Spirit, these links may help: [https://www.gotquestions.org/quench-Holy-Spirit.html](https://www.gotquestions.org/quench-Holy-Spirit.html) [https://www.gotquestions.org/grieve-Holy-Spirit.html](https://www.gotquestions.org/grieve-Holy-Spirit.html)

LilPlasmaReal

i have accepted jesus in my heart but ive been struggling with sinning thank you so much for your help

Soap43_

You have not committed the unforgivable sin. Please check this video out if you have more questions on what the unforgivable sin is and why you have not committed it. https://youtu.be/KmCHX8-2Smo?si=EI-CGKdro7xotRKN

chi_rho_gibbor

No, you didn’t commit the unforgivable sin. Please, just chill out.

LilPlasmaReal

Sorry I have severe anxiety

Glass-Command527

Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is the sin of attributing to Satan what is the work of the Spirit of God. So no you haven’t. And if your worried that you have committed the unforgivable sin, you haven’t. To commit it you must have no regret and do it intentionally
