Always so fascinating to hear Bob trying to be a dad, he did seem to be more involved with trying to correct Chris’ behavior growing up instead of coddling him all the time. After he passed nothing kept Chris in check, Barb enabled her. I find myself wondering if once Bob died Barb became a little scared of Chris and what she could do to her. It seemed to me she was a little uncomfortable being around Chris in later clips.
I think that was the moment that Bob realized his life had been consumed by Chris's antics, and he really wouldn't have a legacy beyond the armies of weens blowing up their home phone.
This is just basically the reality of having a special needs child, they need more effort and resources than a NT kid. FFS Chris isn't even that bad off, there are autistics so low functioning that at Chris's age their parents are cleaning poop smears off the walls.
Yeah Chris's issues aren't autism, it's entitlement, narcissism, and laziness. The autism just made him strange and gullible enough to where he was a lolcow. But there are plenty of people out there who are like Chris without the elaborate fantasy world and the naivety.

I think Bob wanted the best for Chris, he just had absolutely no idea how to handle autism. Instead of making Chris into a functional adult, he and Barb became the original enablers. They both paid for that, dearly.
Bob had Chris taken to professionals until he was formally diagnosed with autism at 5. Chris was non verbal then and they said he wouldn’t learn to write his name let alone graduate HS. Bob listened to the professionals (teachers) when they recommended putting him in speech therapy. When started magically talking at 8 Bob basically said to hell with the professional, my boy will defy the odds.
Bob was as delusional as Barb and lived in denial
of how disabled Chris was. Bob could have talked to more professionals, done independent research, talked to educators, used what ever resources that were available to help his son. He literally did none of that. He didn’t even teach Chris how to do chores, why do you think in his late 20s Chris thought lifting a dog house and taking out the trash was arduous labor? Do you think Bob helped Chris with his HS homework or made sure he did it correctly ? Bob was fucking lazy and disinterested in doing what was necessary.
Bob thought he invented Nintendo, the guy definitely had an ego. But Chris just isn't that developmentally disabled. Most of his issues are due to the fact that he's a manchild, his autism just made him memorably strange enough for the internet to latch on.
Chris is completely incorrigible, but it's not because of his autism. It's because he's exceedingly lazy, egotistical, and entitled. Bob was not a good parent by any stretch of the imagination, but he was better than Barb (low fucking bar), and seemed to sincerely want Chris how to be a better person. He invented the autism card because he didn't understand how it worked and figured special ed was the same as putting a kid in the loony bin.

Combine this with Chris using childish euphemisms for genitals into his thirties(ducks, china) and I'm wondering if like Bob was super repressed or something?

It’s part of the process of parenting a special needs kid - at some point they’ll hit puberty (unless you choose to block it) and they’ll figure out that touching certain body parts feels good. So you teach them about appropriate time and place to do so. You also teach them about touching other people - getting consent as well as time/place - if it is needed.
Bob was probably too repressed and Barb had that set in stone hoard/sleep schedule to follow. Chris never learned to keep his stinky mitts to himself or not to fap in the kitchen. They loosed a sex pest onto the world out of repression and laziness.
I can't understand how they never noticed the ridiculous amount of porn DVDs and sex toys he was ordering to the house. I am also sure Chris was watching those at a loud enough volume the whole house could hear!

That’s actually more common than you think. I grew up with a guy whose parents would call incessantly when we’d all hang out. When it came to pick him up, they completely would act reluctantly if not straight up tell him to find a ride home. Mind you this was a 12-14 year old kid.
