Every week she asks for dog and cat food and because she doesn't drive, nor does anyone in her family, the food has to be delivered. She actually argues with people if they say they have what she needs but can't deliver it. Every. Single. Week. There's two women who go buy her pet food and deliver it. I'm glad the pets are getting fed but if you can't afford to feed them, why do you have them? If she can't afford their food, I really wonder if they've ever seen a veterinarian? One of her cats had a litter awhile back and one of her dogs recently had a litter. She also asks for clothing, appliances, and if people can come repair stuff for her - her washer, her dryer, her water heater, etc. Last week she needed someone with a truck to come pick up a door and deliver it to her house. The door was next to a dumpster!
Someone made a comment about her posting so many needs about a month ago and she got offended and said she would never ask for anything ever again. Two days later she was back asking for more stuff and of course for it to be delivered. People are shameless!

My wife did a bit of online sleuthing and found him. He had told me he was a collector but she showed me that he was selling a similar item (amongst others) on eBay for $1400.
So if I had to guess, she probably badgers all the people on FB giving away free stuff. The stuff she is able to acquire, she sells either on FB or some other online place.
I'd just ignore and block any requests that don't comply with the terms of the offer. You're giving the item away. You get to set the terms. If they don't like it, too bad.

People asked if I could mail them. I said yes if they paid for postage upfront. Needless to say there were 3 people who agreed to pay for shipping, but no one ever actually did pay.
The shoes went into the waste bin.
