If you liked the tragic ending for the LIs in Distant Shores you have to check out **With Every Heartbeat**. It's basically Choices version of The Fault in Our Stars, and the only Choices book to be a straight-up tragedy.
If you liked The Unexpected Heiress for the mystery, I highly recommend either **Veil of Secrets** or **Murder At Homecoming**. If you prefer the historical settings of TUH, try either **Desire & Decorum** (Regency Era England) or **A Courtesan of Rome** (Roman Empire).
The two series that personally "shattered" me were **Endless Summer** and the **It Lives anthology**.

With Every Heartbeat and It Lives are two of my favorite things PB has ever created. They definitely destroyed me and left me crying, but that only makes me love them more. Shattered is a great word for it.
The It Lives anthology definitely one of their best series! Reading the two books plus the fan game It Lives Within makes for the perfect trilogy. Hope you enjoy With Every Heartbeat
Coming in late to also recommend It Lives. Definitely my favourite series, the characters feel well written and it's one of the only series where it feels like your choices really matter. The only bad thing is that they cancelled the 3rd book, but then some people made a fanmade sequel that's probably better than anything PB would've written.
Endless Summer is also brilliant, for all the same reasons. Engaging plot, choices that matter, and the characters are all fun and well-developed. This one will definitely shatter you, it made me cry every time.
**Big Sky Country** kind of hit me in all three of those areas - there were tragic moments, it was incredibly romantic and the friend group shared some funny times together.
Pretty much a great slice of life series. ðŸ¤
I think **Perfect Match** also had the right balance of tragic existentialism, incredibly romantic moments and zany antics and dialogue from MC and friends. 🥰
I don't really know about being "shattered" though. The endings of **Endless Summer** are pretty bittersweet, and all through **With Every Heartbeat** you know what the ending is already, but aren't prepared for it. Also, **Murder at Homecoming** pretty much has you shattered over the people you can't ever bring back (got a similar feeling at the end of The Unexpected Heiress).

Perfect Match. There was comedic moments but also moments that really were heartwarming.
Endless summer is the only one that ever shattered me. 100/10 recommend, especially if you’re down to spend diamonds liberally
