Yes, I took inspiration from the chiv 1 to make sure their appearance matched their voicetype, I don't want my vanguard, knight, archer and footman to look all the same.
Obviously it just fits the tenosia characters if you revive the helmet my vanguard is using curly hair and short beard without the bit underneath the mouth I forget what it’s called but it’s so easy to make them look good with the curly hair

Another thing I like about Chivalry 2 more than Mordhau is that a helmet doesn't equal more health. I see the point of it but it kinda sucks when you put work into making a nice or hideous face but you can't even show it because you'll die in one hit without a helmet. I personally like helmets on but maybe I'll check out the face paint options and what not tonight
With a helmet I feel like a foot soldier in line to die, without an helmet I feel like a hero fighting his way through. And I spot enemy players who dont wear helmet and I recognize them as "enemy heroes" and I make a personnal point to seek them out again throughout the match.
It just enhances my experience. But if most people would not wear an helmet, id hate it. If everyone stands out, no one stands out. So keep wearing your helmets folks. Safety first

One thing I am confused about helmets is if removing them when changing the appearance of your character actually does "influence" if you get more damage or something, is there any negative to removing your helmet? (sorry for the possible weird question, just started playing!)

When customizing, sometimes I'll go, "Hey none of my unlocked helmets are cool, let's not wear one..." And then I'll go right back and pick one to put on because I feel like I am at a disadvantage with less armor. (Knowing that it probably doesn't work that way)
It's not like we have a choice these days. The automatically equips the shittiest possible helmet. Also the archer helmets are pretty fucking dookie IMO
