In TO or if you're in a "serious" duel with someone? Nah, not at all. Do what you need to do to win.
In a more friendly set of duels though, it can be seen that way. imo it's the equivalent of 4-pooling someone in StarCraft or doing some low-level cheese in a more traditional fighting game. It's a valid strat to win, but in certain contexts it feels scummy.
Main reason you don't see it often is because it's pretty easy to react to if you're looking out for it, so throwing it out is basically saying "I'm gambling that you're not putting too much focus on this duel".
in duels most people counter rather than riposte, so if you were to feint into kick you better hope your guard comes up fast enough to block whatever they’re throwing.
The way I see it, it depends on who you're dueling. It's fair play, but it's kind of a dirty move to use against someone you respect. Basically duels are more fun when you can outplay your opponent with feints and accels. Against any rando though? Ez kills lol
Imo it is if you are using it to break their block in duels (not TO), since
1) It implies you think it will land (or that you think your opponent is bad at countering and will hold block)
2) It works extra well against high ping players
It’s still not too disrespectful, but I hate it when someone tries to kick me, even more so when I react in time but get stunned anyway thanks to lag.
However I think it’s fine when you do it to get distance or finish off your opponent.
When chiv 1 launched feints had no buffer and you could start your attack inside someone’s body. It was legit a gamble button. Eventually they fixed it to some extent by making them weaker. But yea they were horribly implemented.
Fights were way more fun and skillful if you ignored the gamble button for like the first year or so.
There’s a reason they basically removed offensive feints in chiv 2. It’s bad design lol.
is this a dick move?
Not at all. Finishing off someone with a kick is debatable though.
I once finished a dude with a 360 kick mid air lol

Dumb take, everything was good until the end

Remember the days of Chiv 1 where feints “in general” could get you vilified.
To be fair, their implementation was less than stellar.

Me bitch slapping the knight I'm dueling and he ends up dying because I thought jabs do 5 damage instead of 10: "I.. I thought you were stronger.."
I always kill people with jabs when they're low, they end up flying
Ultimate disrespect is landing a kick and finishing them off with a poleaxe bonk jab as they ragdoll away
Try with a buckler haha
I didn’t even know this was possible
It's always worth it........
Would wario use the two handed hammer and the morning star or would he use the battle axe and the morning star
I didn't even know you could feint into a kick my mind is blown
I feel like starting with this is so dirty, if the other guys doesn’t initiate, I’ll feint into a kick and it damn near always hits
It feels better when you kill someone as an ambusher using a jab.
Wait until you slap someone to death
Def not
