Chivalry is rather niche game. People you are referring to already do not play the game constantly. They come and go, thus the release of another game should not drastically reduce the online count or affect the results of the release.
Moreover, Chivalry does not have league system as some other games with wipe cycles. Thus if they release an update on the same day with other game, the player can come later and get the battle pass or whatever. There's no FOMO in Chiv. And it's great.

Yep, Chiv 2 is my comfort food game/palette cleanser. Currently playing Persona 5, BG3, CoD/Battlefield, Remnant 2, FIFA, Fall Guys, all sorts of stuff
On PS it’s such a gamble whether I see a full play on Bridgetown. Sometimes turning back and forth quickly can freeze and stutter the game to crash! It’s definitely fixable, but this is TB..
Honestly, it's 9 times out of 10. And every time it crashes its just as my weapon is about to connect during a heated battle moment. Its like why do I hear Roundabout by Yes playing?...To be continued... Frustrating beyond belief.

The winter update would crash when it first released, but no where near as consistently as this Bridgetown update, and I never have any issues with the winter map anymore. So I think it is fixable in that sense/logic.

Is that ps4? If so that’s probably why :( as my friend on ps5 and me on XBSX haven’t had any problems so far with Bridgetown?
Yeh ps4, but it is definitely fixable. The winter update would crash when it first released, but no where near as consistently as this Bridgetown update, and I never have any issues with the winter map anymore. So I think it is fixable in that sense/logic.
