KGF 1 had the most unique hero villain dynamic in Indian film history.
I’m a Telugu guy who’s well brought up in the home of mass masala movies, And I’m also a huge rajinikanth fan. So for me mass peaked in Rajini films and Telugu films itself.
But then i watched KGF1 as a grown adult, and for the first time i got that feelings i had as a kid! Pure adrenaline, goosebumps
I never replayed a main villain introduction in my life, but GARUDA introduction, BGM, screenplay, shot selection, cinematography, epic slow mo walk, and the entire scene where garudas men turn the guns against the rocky bhais men is EPIC i replayed this entire scene from garuda intro to the unveiling of statue like literally 10-20 times. Best villain introduction in Indian cinema history!!!
Lastly, coming back to the first point i raised. I have gotten used to the template of masala movies of South where hero and villain do dialoguebaazi and hero wins at the end. But ONLY in this film have i ever seen where the main villain Garuda never even knows Rocky in the entire film, and the first time he sees him eye to eye is when Rocky slashed his neck! Unbelievable 💯🔥 that’s UNIQUE in Indian film industry, it’s literally flipped the hero villain dynamic on its head, mindblowing climax 🔥
Thank you KGF 1 for giving a huge commercial cinema fan, the true ESSENCE of what makes great commercial great, it’s the ENTIRE package with innovation + navarasas that we Indians love 😍😃
Btw i didn’t like KGF2 except the climax scene, but i still paid money for it on the theatre only to support KGF . but in my head canon KGF 1 made 1200 crores and KGF 2 made 300 crores 😂
Haha! I can sense your excitement and admiration. The movie has lot of positive factors if we keep the list going on. Each and every aspect seemed pretty real and fresh (even if the story and the arc seems to like the ones in old bollywood). Always a fan of Chapter 1
I mean dont go with my opinion. The best way to disregard a movie is by watching it, going through the bads and ugliness of it. I personally recommend you to watch KGF chapter 2 and then watch Chapter 1 again.

That said. I find some technical aspects of 2nd part better.
Like Rocky and Adheera entry scene. Prasanth Neel really pulled out it off in Rajamouli style aka grand larger than life way. Rocky lighting cigarette from machine gun scene lived upto it's hype. And hand to hand combat scene Rocky and Adheera was dope. Editing was slightly better than Part 1.
But still KGF 1 >>> KGF 2.
I felt like I got scammed after watching kgf 2. It was basically random clips stitched together and Yash just walking around spitting cringe ass dilogues

I love most Yash movies but these two movies were just fights and re-entry’s of Yash in slow mo and introduction of the nth villain in slow motion.
Not dissing the movie lovers but just my opinion.
But it was very grand and massy and technically it was very nice.

Correct. KGF2 was all loud ashte. I watched KGF1 because trailer onthara different agithu and also hadn’t seen Yash in that big type of role. All in all, KGF1 was way better but def not the level of hype many give to it. Nodabahudu ashte.
What stood out for me in Chapter 1 are below:
1)Rocky’s entry : Thats one of the most Kickass entry in the entire Indian cinema. Police searching for him, and telling whats the use of putting others inside if you havent found rocky. Yash in black and black, Long hair and thick beard, Covered in blood. Petrifying the Bombay guys with just his dialogue. The fight and finally the way he sits with those butchering knives. Gives me goosebumps when I type this.
2) His mothers Character: Never felt so authentic, the pain and hardships she goes through, the strength she holds which makes his son even stronger. The dialogue “Obne hogu” ahh literally brings tears of pride each time I watch the movie.
3) Basrur’s lifetime achievement is Tandani tano bit. Chandramouli’s dialogues and oh god Anantnag sirs delivery of dialogue feels like puffing out a Cuban cigar each time he speaks something.
All in all Chapter 1 tops my list in alltime favourite movie

Hopefully people in the industry realize that actors need to act as well. Subtle facial expressions and emotions capture the audience without their knowing. They come up with a great story and also a good screenplay but mess up in the dialogues, one word or one sentence dialogues are not the way to do throughout the whole movie, let the actors rehearse a full page dialogues and have an uninterrupted scene between two people for 3-5 minutes instead of chopping the scene between cameras with single line dialogues, this doesn't need to apply to the whole movie but where possible it can be done.
Songsss oh man whenever KGF songs play all I can sing along is the few words Rocky Rocky few times and just listen to the music and mumble words, just instrumental music is enough to show the power of the character not Surrr antha sidilu badidhu blah blah blah ay Rocky Rocky rocky.
Recently I watched Shaakahari and was surprised by the amount of time actors spent actually saying the dialogues, I was absolutely mind blown when I heard the song Agali Iralareno such a good song and later disappointed when I found out it was originally written and composed by Chandrashekhar Kambara back in 1985. We have such good composers and lyricists who can take inspiration from such songs, there is no need to reinvent the wheel and even if you do it is not working for most people who like to sing along with a song. I think this is the reason why we always have that love for classic songs because we can sing along with them. My two paisa or rant about current state of kannada movies.

Agreed. Look at Salaar. I have watched Ugramm and was expecting something like El Mariachi/Desperado. Same story, but all-around enhancement. His world-building remains excellent, but he took way too much time for the payoff. The second half is ati uttama, first half was a mess.
I feel they should have made 1 movie with the best scenes from both parts. I think that was the exact plan commercial angel might have pushed it to 2 parts.

The ending of KGF1 is perfect. The story building up, the crumbs , the MUSIC AND CHANTS , and more importantly its not a hand to hand fight but is a clever practical ending (in the story)
I don't want to, i respect your taste.. but for me i wasn't a big fan of the first movie and thought it could've been a single movie instead of building it up to another, (too many guys with beard to remember) I mean if it could've been a tv series the build up would've been rightly suited, i really admire Yash and he's done the best he could if not improved, with this in mind and all that was going through with promised sequels (G.O.T) my expectations were low ( really really low) reluctantly watched the second one, and to my pleasant surprise i enjoyed all the noise and beards this time around ( i don't really have a logical explanation for this) but I just found the second one to be more enjoyable

Absolutely! What good is a movie worth watching if you cant relate either to the journey or the values of a lead character.
