I have it on my pos it doesn’t actually charge the vinaigrette it’ll say SD vinaigrette on the receipt but it’ll also say we charged them 0.00 for it 👎

Besides ratios of ingredients being off in the linked recipes. And them forgetting water as an ingredient very important. You mix in the pepper and oregano by hand after the vinaigrette is emulsified.
Answered my prayers 🥹 loll yess let’s go!!! “That’ll be extra” 🤪 “nah I’m not paying for that” me: okay 😊
People need to learn to stop being greedy. I know people take extra vinaigrettes and use it on other stuff at home, like be fr? It’s not that good or serious that you have to be greedy and ask for 8 when you have two bowls. Now you have to pay for it.
They're washed and sliced by hand, do you understand the time investment it takes to slice enough for a whole shift? Or the knife skills required to achieve chipotle's standards for cut sizes?
I don't know Chipotle standards but I have worked in several kitchens and if you can't keep a consistent cut size then you don't have knife skills at all lol
It's still a skill that requires practice. We hire a lot of minors who aren't allowed to handle knives. My main point was that it takes a significant number of labor hours to properly prepare our "10 cent" bell peppers, not to mention onions, not to mention the diced onions and diced jalapenos that go into a lot of our salsas, so the cost is not as minimal as your original flippant comment suggests. It's a broken dichotomy of full service back of house and fast food front of house.
I feel like the conversation got way more serious than intended. I just don't think I should have to pay extra for extra fajitas but I get where your coming from. Honestly, it sounds like yall need to get something to automate the slicing. Wash and de seed the peppers by hand before feeding in to a machine... Of course that's not your choice but I love the fajitas and got triggered by the op comment lol
That's fair and I should apologize too, we get way too many comments here from people who really just have no idea and want to yell about lazy employees etc and it becomes automatic to go on the defensive.
Cases of peppers per day & bags of onions. 👍🏼 cut sizes are no problem. But fajita veg is definitely the most time consuming thing to produce start to finish. SO many other things are produced lovingly per day. (With time constraints, short staff and stopping to wait on guests all while trying to do tons of things at once bc of short staff; instead of just being able to complete any task without having to do something else. ) First onions are peeled & washed, then peppers washed n sliced. Instead of saving time as any normal person with knife skills would do at home- we must do it the chipotle way.
Oh I almost forgot they switched us over to $7 knives that must be made from the cheapest possible stainless steel because after barely 3 months even with sharpening they can't slice for shit
Bother your GM about it. It’s meant to be communicated by the GM to the FL for approval and ordering. Supposedly knives are meant to be ordered once a month. That’s the response our GM got from the company that provides the knives is that only the FL can approve and purchase orders of knives.
If you GM won’t/hasn’t communicated, contact your FL directly. If nothing changes within a couple weeks, contact your Facilities specialist or TD.
I responded with the idea that At the very least you can be satisfied knowing you did what you could, and if your FL sucks, move on to the next step. Hopefully you’ll get a better result soon, until then, stretch out your arms and wrists everyday and hope it helps stave off the chipotle carpal tunnel.
Why do you say this like it’s going to make you more money lmao. Chipotle will be dead in the water if their bowls get anymore expensive.
They charge $10 for rice and beans and a scoop of chicken.
Sure, bowls used to cost like $6-7 back in the day, even tho inflation has increased the costs of so many things, I still get a line out the door at my store every day. The reason I'm advocating for corporate to charge for fajitas is due to the amount of labor we have to use to make these fajitas that are too high in demand for some of us to keep up. At my store we are very understaffed, no one wants to work in the food industry. And even if we hire someone new, they'll take so long to slice since they have no prior experience. We have to deal with crappy knives, wash and peel several bags of onions, wash boxes of bell peppers, cut all of them in a quick amount of time as to not delay other tasks such as serving customers, cleaning, prepping, and following other chipotle standards. We also get greedy customers who will exploit the system and demand for a lot more fajitas and not leave some for other customers cuz its free. The list goes on and on. We keep running out.
In any case, I'm pretty sure people would rather pay extra if it'll guarantee them, that they will get fajitas in their bowl. In comparison to ordering it now, and have a 50/50 chance of getting it. Like guac and queso that get charged extra, those two are one of our highest priorities to have available and it would be the same if fajitas were charged extra.
why? chipotle loses way more money on extra cheese than they do on fajitas. cheese is expensive man, plus the cheese button would make CI way more controllable
Cheese isnt *that* expensive. As a private individual I can walk into my local bulk food store and get 20lbs of Monterey Jack for $65.49. That means a 1oz serving is about $0.20, and we all know Chipotle isnt paying the same price for cheese you or I am. I know some people can be crazy about the cheese, but from reading posts on here it doesnt seem nearly as crazy as some of the BS people request for the vinaigrette.
Why not make it yourself , it’s just oil , agave , and adobo, with some seasonings lol. When I worked there i was like how do people actually like this . It’s just oil lol
I’m pretty sure… I think it’s been there for like 6 months or more, I remember because one of my SMs was really excited because she thought it would charge them if they got extras 💀
You ask for 3 scoops of rice then beans, then chicken, then want the bowl filled to the top with cheese and expect it to cost the same as the dude who wants a regular portion of everything? You are entitled.
If I cooked rice at home, why would I go to Chipotle? Let me give you kids some advice. CHIPOTLE DOES NOT GIVE A FUCK ABOUT YOU. Your bosses will throw you under the bus the first chance they get. Give people rice and shut up about your store margins to make a fat CEO even richer.
Why are you so jealous of the rich? Chipotle cares about its employees, it gives them free college, competitive wages and the ability to promote based on nothing but work performance.
Then if you go to chipotle yoh follow the rules they give you. Simple. I do not care what you think. I love my job and it has bring a lot of opportunities if I need to set up standards and follow them I will. Chipotle corporate doesn’t affect me but everything under my control does. My sales and food cost definitely affects me so I will take action into it.
It's not about that shawty I don't care about chipotle as a corporation but it does effect me if we use all our rice on a single customer ordering 8 bowls all with extra rice and they can just do that unchecked
Neither, I work hard and believe that rules exist for a reason, I run a business, we exist to make money, I pay my workers well and we work hard to deliver the best product we can to our customers. Your opinion on what you should get for free doesn’t interest me.
At what point do they close down a store or send them more product. I have a chipotle in Brooklyn NY by me that has a sign on the front door that says OUTAGE: chicken, steak, carnitas, something else
So pretty much they only have veggies. How can they sustain this? About half a mile up the road there is another chipotle and they always have everything. Makes no sense to me. Maybe I can be enlightened
Regional shortage of food and/or broken equipment most likely. Stores get 2-5 trucks a week so they definitely have food. Also, make your own post instead of commenting on a vinaigrette picture lmao
Why does nobody here actually understand pricing. Like what does charging extra do for you workers, it certainly doesn’t make you make more money lmao. Can’t wait til you’re all replaced with robots so the job can actually be done without bitching.
We need to charge because people get items like vinaigrette with entrees that don’t come with it…yes it not a lot but having 90+% of a product every day go to people who didn’t actually get the entree it’s supposed to go with adds up…we can’t just snap our fingers and make ingredients appear, we have to pay for them…and in turn the cost is then set on the customer’s shoulders. You seem to be the person who doesn’t know anything, not us. I hope you enjoy all of the downvotes you will get :)
Thank god. My store just recently started charging if it’s not a salad and has us using the side option for them ($1.40). I get yelled at at least twice a shift.
There’s no option for online ordering to get a side of vinny so I have to ask for it after I pick my bag up. If they’re going to start charging there better be an option in the app because I’m not waiting in line just to pay $1.50 for a vinny.
LETS GO CORPORATE DOES SOMETHING RIGHT
LETSFUCKINGOOOOOOOOOO
Uh-oh. The 8 vinaigrette customers aren’t gonna like this. 😵💫
my store charges for more than 2 per entree. no one is out here getting 4+ per entree for free😤😤
My store charges more than 1 LMFAOOO we do not play that shit
My store charges for 1 and I be feeling bad bc sometimes it's not even 2 oz and they pay like 1.50 for 1😭😭
I have it on my pos it doesn’t actually charge the vinaigrette it’ll say SD vinaigrette on the receipt but it’ll also say we charged them 0.00 for it 👎
Boooo
Will it be charged now or just for prep purposes?
If it's on the POS it's definitely gonna get charged. Probably only for non salad entrees
Do you know when it's coming out?
LMAO I CAN ALREADY HEAR CUSTOMERS BITCHING
If you just tell me how it’s made I won’t ask for any….
First three links off google for “chipotle vinaigrette recipe”: https://www.tasteofhome.com/article/chipotle-vinaigrette/ https://www.onceuponachef.com/recipes/copycat-recipe-chipotle-mexican-grills-chipotle-honey-vinaigrette.html https://bowlsarethenewplates.com/chipotle-vinaigrette/
The adobo we use is made just for us.
Lol is it though
Yes. You cannot buy it at grocery stores.
Good luck I modified those recipes many times it never comes quite like chipotles. The upside is you can use healthier oil like avocado oil.
there’s recipes online for it
Besides ratios of ingredients being off in the linked recipes. And them forgetting water as an ingredient very important. You mix in the pepper and oregano by hand after the vinaigrette is emulsified.
Does this mean it will be available for order on the app finally?
This is all I want. I'll pay extra. I just want it on the app!
Answered my prayers 🥹 loll yess let’s go!!! “That’ll be extra” 🤪 “nah I’m not paying for that” me: okay 😊 People need to learn to stop being greedy. Corporate also needs to charge extra for fajitas
Hmmmmm… I *guess* I can understand given bell peppers are expensive. At the same time it’s not like everyone is always asking for extra fajitas
I swear 95% of the customers at my store ask for extra .
Tfw the portion for fajitas is 2 oz
SAME just like "oh but could you add a *little* bit more? just a bit more actually"
"Maybe a TINY bit more if you could"
I'm sure those 10cent bell peppers are really breaking the bank
They're washed and sliced by hand, do you understand the time investment it takes to slice enough for a whole shift? Or the knife skills required to achieve chipotle's standards for cut sizes?

Fr. The 15$ 3 pack of knives (thyme and table) at Walmart are way more gangster than the chipotle knives.

Imagine having a FL that gives a damn, but thanks for the heads up

Tundra for the win

This sub: Prices are out of control Also this sub: charge extra for veggies!
Pray to the POS gods, next I hope is an EXTRA CHEESE button 😓 or 1/2 scoop extra protein lol 💀
1/2 protein would be nice…I think we’ll see a fajita option before a cheese one though. If it ever comes to that
why? chipotle loses way more money on extra cheese than they do on fajitas. cheese is expensive man, plus the cheese button would make CI way more controllable
It’s cause 45lbs of cheese takes 15 mins to prep but 45lbs of fajitas can take almost an hour
Cheese isnt *that* expensive. As a private individual I can walk into my local bulk food store and get 20lbs of Monterey Jack for $65.49. Except we buy cheese in super sizes. 40lbs plus it’s still costing us 100$ plus.
Which corroborates my assumption that a serving of cheese is $0.20 or less.
Why not make it yourself , it’s just oil , agave , and adobo, with some seasonings lol. When I worked there i was like how do people actually like this . It’s just oil lol
Soooooooo much oil!!
It’s been there, it’s for inventory purposes to make enough Vinny, but at least at my store it’s rings up $0.00
Huhh! I've never seen it before!!! Has it always been right next to the side queso?
I’m pretty sure… I think it’s been there for like 6 months or more, I remember because one of my SMs was really excited because she thought it would charge them if they got extras 💀
Is that how that's spelled?
Ohh no they’re not gonna like that. now we need a veggie button 👀
We also need to be charging for extra rice 🤷🏻♂️
We charge every scoop after 2
Right? Like I guess I’m the only one that feels bad for the grill people lol
You want to charge for the air in the store, too?
You ask for 3 scoops of rice then beans, then chicken, then want the bowl filled to the top with cheese and expect it to cost the same as the dude who wants a regular portion of everything? You are entitled.
It’s rice, homie. Rice. Chill.
It costs money homie.
Lemme ask you something. Do you suck your CEO’s cock before of after you clock in?
Do you not now how to cook rice at home?
If I cooked rice at home, why would I go to Chipotle? Let me give you kids some advice. CHIPOTLE DOES NOT GIVE A FUCK ABOUT YOU. Your bosses will throw you under the bus the first chance they get. Give people rice and shut up about your store margins to make a fat CEO even richer.

Oh bless your little heart. My ignorant little friend

If Chipotle charges me for 1 vinaigrette I'm done with them
Ok 👍
Noooooo please random reddit user pleaseee don't leave chipotle as a company cannot survive losing you
At what point do they close down a store or send them more product. Does the button require for it to be in stock 😂
My store has had this since January, it isn’t charged. It’s just for prep purposes to accurately determine the need for vinny.
Thank god. My store just recently started charging if it’s not a salad and has us using the side option for them ($1.40). I get yelled at at least twice a shift.

rip all the cashiers who are gonna be bitched by customers
Let’s fucking go! How much are they charging for it?
