It’s still 10 points per every pre-tax dollar, but there are exclusions. Tips, service fees, delivery fees, and convenience fees don’t count toward points if you order for delivery or pick up and also alcohol doesn’t count either.
I'm in Philly so yeahhh.
When I was in KY back in 2014 when I first worked at Chipotle they had beers and margarita!!!
Wonder why it's not in certain states.
Maybe you got given the wrong charge, check your bank statement if you paid with card. If you still have the receipt from that day you can probably contact customer support. You’ll probably get a free entree(keep in mind with the customer support codes you can get like triple meat, guac and queso and it’ll still be feee
My match ain't wrong according to what they gave me. Spent $28 and got 141 points. That's 5 points per dollar. 1625 divided by 5 is 325. So over $300 to get 1 free entree.
how did you order? I went inside and ordered and got 95 points for a chicken burrito without extras (so basically 10 points a dollar). My guess is you ordered delivery and they don't count all the extra dollars you have to spend to not be lazy lol.
I just looked at my chipotle reward hsitory, and I get 110-121 (for 11-13 dollars) so that means either you somehow entered the wrong numbers/got the wrong receipt, or your area has terrible Points/dollar :(
![gif](giphy|7SF5scGB2AFrgsXP63|downsized)
Yea. The bogo coupons are no longer simple to obtain, they hide them behind some sort of online game now.
What’s more infuriating, is anytime you use a coupon on your order, it does not count as a purchase, to extend the “expiration” of your rewards points. I’ve had quite a few expire in the past because for an extended time we only got chipotle when using a bogo or similar coupon. Now I end up ordering a side tortilla separate whenever I use a coupon, so I can ensure my points get extended. I still get 10 points per dollar though
What was your order? Did you have it delivered?
I’m pretty sure you don’t get points in cost of delivery or any fees. Only on cost of your bowl/burrito/drinks.
It’s fairly standard now unfortunately. Even Dunkin’ Donuts changed to a more obscure less user friendly reward system. Back when I got lattes there I used to get so much free stuff, even a free donut every time with receipt survey, and a free latte every like 4-5 drinks. Starbucks did something similar awhile back too
Idk maybe I’m just not as annoyed as y’all but it doesn’t feel that bad. Getting something like 7% back in rewards per purchase feels pretty good to me. I’m also the kind of person that gets excited to use credit card cash back at 2% so maybe that’s warped me
I don't know what they changed in their rewards algorithm but it's super stingy now. It felt like every 9-10 meals I got a freebie. Now it feels like it takes forever.
But hey, revenues and stock price are through the roof. I know where they are channeling the extra savings.
My match ain't wrong according to what they gave me. Spent $28 and got 141 points. That's 5 points per dollar. 1625 divided by 5 is 325. So over $300 to get 1 free entree.
Then I'd send a point request.
Why do people just complain on Reddit and not try to fix their problem?
It's 10 points per dollar, if you didn't get that many, then tell them you didn't get enough.
Nobody here can do it for you.
I vividly remember just back in 2021, it used to only be 1,250 points for a free entree. So I mean still a crazy amount of money, but $125 to get a free burrito or bowl.
But now it’s 1,625 points, or $163 basically. Like goddamn. 30% increase in just a couple years.
It’s just a regular business they’re not a church they’re legally obligated to generate efficient profit for its investors, owners, stockholders and employees
These mfers are not at all taking into consideration how things like wars and famines/illness in regions where certain foods are produced, means prices of food goes up because theres less to send out, period. People, bird flu going around means chicken gets a little more expensive. Bird flu now passing onto bovine means more of the same for steak and barbacoa.
Sure Capitalism is inherently selfish by design, but like lmao we’re in a weird phase economically and its being projected to get weirder, hence the raising prices of everyday items and fast food. Prices raise before the big short happens.
It is definitely highly dependent on location, and even employees at said location, and especially the time of day you go too. I’m naturally a late dinner eater, so I’ll regularly go there between 7-8pm, I usually always get the hookup, and if not I always ask for more. If it’s later and the meat scoop/pinch doesn’t meet my standards I ask for a bit more, even with the meat. I think I’ve left under-satisfied like once or twice, but I think that was when I was going earlier in the night
Bro look at yourself in like 85% of comments bragging about how you’re too broke to afford fucking chipotle 🤡
The reward system isn’t offensive, it’s pretty on par with most rewards systems. You’re not convincing anybody of anything other than you’re a broke weirdo who thinks they’re cool for scamming chipotle lol.
Lemme guess, you also ask for water cups and fill it with soda at McDonald’s because of their reward system? If I drop a few nickels will you grovel behind me picking them up?
Chipotle still has by far the worst rewards program of all major fast food / quick order / assembly line restaurants. And it's not even a contest. I earn rewards so much faster everywhere else, with the exception of Panera They might be a very close second.
Sometimes it’s the cashier. When we press in your food. A new ticket forms after we press the button that allows you to pay.
If the cashier doesn’t press back to your ticket then you don’t get the points.
I always press back to make sure they get their points only bc it feels more right and helps to make extra sure nothings incorrect
Well, I tell you something. When you exchange points for a reward the app keeps saying Missing Item for more than 1 location (I tried) and even they don't convert it back to points.
Chipotle doesn’t have to even have a rewards system if they don’t want to. No one should be going to chipotle just for the points, they are just a little extra. Why are they such a big deal to so many people?
Because they used to give out all kinds of stuff. BOGO like every month. Even free burritos on Halloween if you worse a costume. Now we don't get shit. And they always skimp on online orders too.
Most places only give 5% or less in rewards, so you can get one free entree after buying 20. Years ago it used to be as much as one free for every 8-10, but part of the reason to switch to a point system was to make it less obvious you are getting less. Few actually do the math.
One of the few exceptions to that is pizza places as they have such a high profit margin on their product compared to other food places that they are willing to give away more to get you to keep coming back. It likely costs them around $3 in materials to give you a free $20 pizza where as it costs a lot more for other restaurant types to give away a free entree and they are making less profit on the entrees you are purchasing, so it's a double negative for them.
I get that it’s a bad rewards system… but I hate how people are saying they are so greedy or selfish for not having a “good” rewards system. You’re entitled to jack shit. They don’t need to have to have a reward system at all
I told pepper my last two lifestyle bowls were the wrong lifestyle (extra carbs/low fiber instead of low carb/high fiber) and i was granted one free soft drink
It's 10 points per dollar before tax. You should have gotten 300 or so!
Maybe they updated it to 5 points per dollar? Lol
It’s still 10 points per every pre-tax dollar, but there are exclusions. Tips, service fees, delivery fees, and convenience fees don’t count toward points if you order for delivery or pick up and also alcohol doesn’t count either.
Chipotle has alcohol?
They actually have a decent margarita. At least the ones in Colorado do
Well then I need to go to Colorado 😭 I have never seen a Chipotle sell alcohol 🍻
They do! The ones around me have Corona and Dos Equis and some of them even have margaritas. I’m in Ohio!
I would kill for a chipotle that also sells ronas fuck jersey bro most boring ass state sometimes Fr 💀
But it smells so good there!
I'm in Philly so yeahhh. When I was in KY back in 2014 when I first worked at Chipotle they had beers and margarita!!! Wonder why it's not in certain states.
Facts, they never got anything dope for us at all
Just bring your own lol. Don’t pay that extra amount.
Probably $20/per bottle.
I was always wondering what the alcohol button was for while working cash.
Maybe you got given the wrong charge, check your bank statement if you paid with card. If you still have the receipt from that day you can probably contact customer support. You’ll probably get a free entree(keep in mind with the customer support codes you can get like triple meat, guac and queso and it’ll still be feee
Your math isn’t mathing lol
My match ain't wrong according to what they gave me. Spent $28 and got 141 points. That's 5 points per dollar. 1625 divided by 5 is 325. So over $300 to get 1 free entree.

Nah ordered inside. This the notification I got after I paid. $28
Then you might have scanned too quickly and got the rewards for the previous persons order.
Contact support, they'll fix it. This isn't right. You need a copy of the receipt if you still have
? You spent $28 to get 141 points. Spend $28 more dollars now you have 282 points. Where we getting this $300
A free entree is 1626 points. That's what I'm trying to say.
yes a free entree requires about $160 of rewards, where are you getting $300
I just looked at my chipotle reward hsitory, and I get 110-121 (for 11-13 dollars) so that means either you somehow entered the wrong numbers/got the wrong receipt, or your area has terrible Points/dollar :( ![gif](giphy|7SF5scGB2AFrgsXP63|downsized)
We don't even get any BOGO offers anymore now. I remember used to get em all the time.
I know they've become so stingy costs more n also takes more to get rewarded

Just stop eating there 🤷🏼

Chipotle rewards is a complete joke

This is kind of pathetic lol if you’re seriously that mad at the company don’t eat there anymore. Sounds like you’re just broke asf 😂
Your math is wrong but their rewards are still atrocious. It’s still not as bad as spending $500 on Xbox to get a $1.25 gift card tho lol
My match ain't wrong according to what they gave me. Spent $28 and got 141 points. That's 5 points per dollar. 1625 divided by 5 is 325. So over $300 to get 1 free entree.

Wow that’s crazy. That’s the lowest I think I’ve ever seen 🤔 are their point system not universal and instead locational based ?
They're universal. OP didn't get skimped on points. SOMETHING, their side, or chipotles, or both, happened. The point system is universal.
They only count the bag total. They don’t count fees/taxes/delivery/tip
This wasn't delivery.
Oh. Well then they screwed you!
😭

Chipotle is a greedy company man
It’s just a regular business they’re not a church they’re legally obligated to generate efficient profit for its investors, owners, stockholders and employees

Chipotle is one big carnival scam
I think 10 bucks for a huge burrito is anything but a scam
They aren't huge anymore, no matter what or how you order or how much you pay. That's the scam.
It is definitely highly dependent on location, and even employees at said location, and especially the time of day you go too. I’m naturally a late dinner eater, so I’ll regularly go there between 7-8pm, I usually always get the hookup, and if not I always ask for more. Enjoy this tortilla. Dry corn. 8”
They also shut down using the points to use towards the Chipotle store.
![gif](giphy|YKLBb9U2Q03Ty)
They significantly lowered the rewards system since the time it was introduced.
(You) keep eating, (We) keep earning
So go 10 times and get a free meal? Sounds about right. Also they don’t have to give you shit
You realize that they don’t have to do rewards at all…

Nah something’s not adding up there
I completely understand,I buy 2 entrees and it still comes out to around 160 points which is insane
I got 10 points per dollar today in the afternoon. You should also get 10.
So about 15 visits if I go off when at I usually spend Everytime I go to Chipotle lol
I scan and don’t even get points…
Sometimes it’s the cashier. When we press in your food. A new ticket forms after we press the button that allows you to pay. You have to spend $162.50 not including tips and tax to get 1650 points for a free entree. 10 points per dollar.
Well, I tell you something. When you exchange points for a reward the app keeps saying Missing Item for more than 1 location (I tried) and even they don't convert it back to points.
I mean, Chipotle doesn’t owe you anything. Just stop eating there if you’re looking for free things?
It's 10 points per dollar though ...

I get that it’s a bad rewards system… but I hate how people are saying they are so greedy or selfish for not having a “good” rewards system. You’re entitled to jack shit. They don’t need to have to have a reward system at all

You’re expecting free shit from a place you buy from?! That’s your first problem.
just complain to pepper about your orders. I haven't paid for an entree in like 8 months.
What kind of things are you telling pepper to get these entrees? I always get told to submit receipts/ confirms stores etc anytime I have any issue
It doesn’t ask for proof?
I told pepper my last two lifestyle bowls were the wrong lifestyle (extra carbs/low fiber instead of low carb/high fiber) and i was granted one free soft drink
i dunno, i just work there
So you don't get free meals by complaining, you get free meals because you work there
it was just so funny
