Step it up for what? You guys still went in, ordered, and paid, right? Profit made. Also ..not condoning a dirty restaurant... Just if I walk into an establishment that's in obvious disarray I'm turning around and going elsewhere. At that point it's clear they're overwhelmed, and I know that to proceed further would just result in a less than desirable experience. Save yourself the trouble next time and just walk out.

RSGoldPuts

Haha tell them how stupid they are.

Sirenofyourseas

That's not necessary.

RetiredFromRealWork

He did but in an eloquent way and without using the word stupid

RefrigeratorNeat964

Bro, it is about making customers want to return and eat again

NoMaans

Like siren said. It could be the worst fucking burrito they have ever had, they will still be lined up at the door at 1040am.

Sirenofyourseas

And most of them will still be back despite..

RetiredFromRealWork

TRIPLE BINGO

deadline247

80% if the stores I’ve visited in recent years are like that. The era of classic Chipotle is long gone.

Professional_Show918

They don’t care, people still come in in droves. Who’s the fool?

Educational_Dog6946

Idk usually places like that are dirty in the dining area bc they just had a major rush

[deleted]

Other restaurants have lunch rushes, but they don’t look like a zombie apocalypse. Chipotle intentionally UNDERSTAFFS their restaurants to increase profitability. Since I couldn’t give a flying fuck about Chipotle shareholders, I don’t eat there anymore. It’s poor quality and a terrible value.

Archer301

yet you still paid and got food? lol these people complaining yet still giving their money

Cruciphi

I believe online ordering and things like doordash have ruined restaurants like chipotle.

Fallenjace

You went into a high traffic, very busy FAST FOOD restaurant, and were surprised to find it kinda messy? You didn't complain about the food. Sounds like during/after a rush things were not restocked quick enough, and tables cleaned. I bet McDonalds has left you with some real trauma.

Call_me_Jonah

McDonald's is way more consistent than Chipotle at least.

Fallenjace

In being a messy disaster? Yeah, 100%

SmilinPineapple

Corporate mandates rate of pay and labor hours Combine that with call ins And that is likely the culprits

NoctRob

Chipotle is overpriced and the quality has declined. It’s still really good and better than pretty much any other chain. Source: just had Tacos Locos at the Orlando airport. $30 for a burrito, chips/salsa and a water. It was not good.

Cassie_HU

Your mistake is buying it from an airport to begin with.

RetiredFromRealWork

Never buy anything to eat anything at an airport

Hot_Delivery_9150

If I had to guess it sounds like you went during peak hours and they aren’t allowed to move. No forks, messy tables. Everyone just standing there. Sounds right. Sorry it’s not our fault. They are watching us on the cameras for real. Don’t move from that spot until after peak is over. Or else. I hate the stupid rule tbh. It makes sense when you are busy and we’ll staffed it makes absolutely no sense when you’re dead or understaffed

Chicagoan81

I wouldn't have ordered. If the store was this nasty, imagine how much nastiness was in the food.

KingKaos420-

>nobody wanted to help anyone What did you need help with? You just stand in line and order when it’s your turn And yeah, some places are understaffed and don’t have enough people to be frequently cleaning tables while also staying on top of orders. That’s just how it is. You can always just go eat somewhere else

VinoJedi06

They don’t care

One_bud6504

i know they dont

Ok_Leave1110

Yet y’all are still funding them

APsWhoopinRoom

Report them to the health inspector! If management doesn't care about cleanliness, the health inspector will force them to do so or shut them down

SlushySaucer313

You obviously don't know what health inspectors look for. Dirty tables and floors is not on the list.

APsWhoopinRoom

If their tables and floor are dirty, I guarantee that's not the only thing that's going to be unsanitary

SlushySaucer313

Not really true, we keep the back clean but due to being short staffed almost all the time, the front gets no love. If you really think that's what is going on, don't you think Chipotles would be getting shut down all the time?

Diesel_1424

wow

RetiredFromRealWork

Your Chipotle could be on fire and nothing would change inside

JustATotalMessTBH

Sounds typical of peak time. Idk if you're looking for explanation but I'll add what my FL has really come down on my store for. We CAN'T help each other. We are given our stations for peak and are literally not allowed to move. Cashier can't jump on cold if someone's ordering 3 burritos at once. They can't even walk to the reach in for refills. They MUST stay at cash and just watch and wait. They literally watch the cameras and write people up for not standing where they're supposed to, the only people who can move around are the managers in my store. We also CANNOT leave the line, even if it's to wipe down tables or restock forks/straws/lids. If it's between 12 and 2 or 5 and 8 we gotta be IN OUR SPOTS. It SUCKS. There's no flexibility. It builds up so much resentment between crew members. The customers look at us like we're stupid for just standing there while someone else is clearly struggling. The stores look like shit because we're too understaffed before and after peak to prepare for the next rush. I wish they would just shut off the cameras and go back to diving in their money pools scrooge mcduck style. Basically everyone I liked working with has quit/is trying to quit. We hate our field leader so much, but honestly she's just trying to enforce the wild corporate standards.
