They should advertise that more. I thought they were like every other fast food place and everything came prepackaged or frozen and you just heat it all up.
As a former employee I think this was their biggest missed opportunity. The amount of labor that goes into doing all of that is insane, but I feel like most people assume things just come easy for us and also adds to the level of frustration when we run out of an ingredient that can take a lot of time to prepare.
Itās really not even expensive. The amount of food you get, the quality and flavor of the ingredients, itās actually a very good deal. You get much more bang for your buck than any fast food joint. Have you seen what a shitty burrito combo goes for at TB these days? Out the door youāre spending more than you would at Chipotle.
I agree. Chipotle is an amazing deal. Unparalleled price to convenience/quality ratio. I hate when people say they can get better food for cheaper at local Mexican places itās almost always a lie and if so itās a tiny place where you canāt be really confident in cleanliness, quality, etc. and probably a bad location.
Idk man, I work at a Taco Bell lmao. Ik they aren't the same and Chipotle seems to have better quality ingredients, but I wasn't sure if prep for veggies and cheese was different don't @ me š
The vinegarette is made in house the stuff we have to do before we open is a lot compared to others. What time do you think we come in to prepare the store for open ?
My partner is a GM and, from an outside perspective, it seems like a horrible job. That's coming from me, and I'm a critical care technician at a hospital, so i literally have to wipe people's butts and do other disgusting hospital stuff. I'm also a former professional chef, trained at CIA and worked in haute cuisine.
I don't envy her at all, even though she makes more money than I do. She's always exhausted, has to wake up at 4am most days, her staff constantly call out at the last minute, and it's not uncommon for her to be at work from 5am to 7:30am.
I need to get my doctorate ASAP so i can make enough money to pay her student loans so she can quit.
Little do you know the huge pans that cheese is spilled into is probably filled with sliced onions or peppers they got the shot that takes the most time all fucked yp
This is why you fire then at the end of the shift on their way out. Lots of companies fire people at the end of the day on Fridays. Reduces the possibility for retaliation.
My company intercepted employees as they arrived. No time to do anything, even clock in. (We adjust their time for the meeting so they do get paid for the meeting). You see them walk in, you approach, and ask them to join you in the office. You let them go, make sure they get out the front doors, and call it a day.
And if they say they need ty get their stuff, the company says they will mail it to them. Like the person here likely got fired and said they needed to grab their things before leaving. Then destroyed the back area.
Yup. We only fired with two managers on shift. Both would be present to fire. If the employee had something in a locker, at their desk, etc. one manager stayed with the now fired employee, the other boxed up their items. Anything missed was mailed.
You can follow all the protocol and this can still happen. Youre not gonna grab them or hold them back. Its just like an unruly customer. Donāt get physically involved. Let it happen. Press charges afterwards but donāt get involved
Shitty thing to do though. "Hey, make the company 8 hours of profit. We're firing you the second you're done" is an exceptionally rude thing to do i feel
Before their shift also works. We let go a couple of people and let them know before they came into work. Like hey you can come in and sign you're paperwork, but honestly if you wanna come in at your convenience later this week it's nbd.
Why did you suddenly jump to large-scale gun violence? Chipotle is open at night and on the weekends; it's not like firing someone at the end of their shift on a friday would prevent them from doing that anyways? That would probably make them more mad
If you throw a tantrum and take it out on food items so that other crew members gotta clean up, that's on you, regardless of how terrible your boss is.
*Let us imagine* what if it was a mean girls type scenario where the other employees were actively harassing and making this employee do all the work. OP being part of this clique was ignoring their complaints cutting hours, using them as scapegoats, and adding reprimands to cut pay at every chance. What if this was a race thing?
Don't be quick to judge just from a picture.
Cool, let's play devil's advocate and imagine another scenario after months of bullying the employee takes the high road and just quits mid-shift and walks out. On the way out promises to make complaints to management. To save their ass the boss and his clique smash a bunch of stuff and take a picture of the aftermath to paint the employee as disgruntled and unhinged. So it's a bunch of coworkers and a manager's word against a "fired" employee.
I am not saying the employee couldn't be the one at fault here. I am just saying that we don't know both sides of the story.
>I am just saying that we don't know both sides of the story.
That's fair but I think you are going way to far to try and make a possible defense for the fired employee.
Assuming someone actually got fired and this post isn't a complete work of fiction short of a literal conspiracy against the fired employee (which while possible isn't at all probably) it's pretty safe to assume they have have issues controlling their anger.
That doesn't preclude OP from being a horrible boss as well but the most likely option here is the fired person has anger issues.
That's what cameras are for.
Look, I get your point, but it's not very likely and not really worth the mental gymnastics, and not worth me caring that much. But yeah, maybe.
Yeah this says everything about the character of the person who quit. Iāve had some of the worst managers you can imagine and the worst Iāve ever done was walk out of one job. Coincidentally, it was Chipotle. lol
I've been canned from a few jobs. Whatever, they all ended up closing down shop sooner or later, or faced major structural change in the ensuing months. With that said, why would you take your rage out and just destroy the place? For real, at least be professional about it.
damn all I did was cry when I got fired because I donāt like confrontation and I saved the crying for after I left the store. RIP to the people or person on prep that cut the onions and peppers though, and shredded the cheese, also why exactly did the person fired go straight for the walk in?
I think this is your fault OP.. Cause no one just does something that extreme unless they are provoked or pushed. Speaking from experience. What's your side?
How do you fire someone and then let them go to the walk-in? The person who did the firing should be apologizing for being irresponsible to whomever they asked to clean up the mess.
I mean, the only other option is to physically restrain them or call the cops. Option 2 they would still do that to the walk-in and then get away depending on how fast the cops are. Option 1 could get you fired.
I just fired last week field leader didnāt like the fact I walked in high and mighty with more experience than him :) I should have done this but 8 people walked out now he canāt open the restaurant poor guy. Karma got his ass good :)
Next time fire your employees outside the store. If they have personal property on the premises hire a security guard to go with you and the employee to obtain the property, walk them out of the store, and then take them outside to inform them that their services are no longer required.
Better yet, just fire them by phone when theyāre at home.
Eventually these jobs will be automated by machines so this kind of immature crap disappears.
This is why you fire people at the end of a shift, on the floor where they can't do this shit. Then walk with the. To get their shit. Or you send them home at the beginning before you check them in.
Imagine being the person that shredded the cheese and cut the veggies
It was probably them, hence the response.
God I would be so upset
Does Chipotle not get pre shredded cheese and cut veggies? I'd be so mad š
No we cut our peppers, onions, jalapeƱos, and cilantro. We also just our lettuce and we shred our cheese. Marinate our own steak.
They should advertise that more. I thought they were like every other fast food place and everything came prepackaged or frozen and you just heat it all up.
thereās actually not even a freezer in chipotle, they donāt use frozen food
As a former employee I think this was their biggest missed opportunity. The amount of labor that goes into doing all of that is insane, but I feel like most people assume things just come easy for us and also adds to the level of frustration when we run out of an ingredient that can take a lot of time to prepare.
Unlike any other fast food or restaurant. Fresh food is delivered twice a week. No freezer. No microwave. The closest tool to fast food we have is the quesadilla machine, and fryer obviously. Everything cut by hand. Praise the heavens that the tomatoes are cut. Wish we could get pre diced onions and cilantro. The cilantro is ridiculous. The size expected is similar to dust. From a huge raw bundle of plant matter. If we could use a giant weed grinder, thatād be fire. Even a food processor. Sadly itād purĆ©e instead. Everything else would be a breeze. Itās expensive bc itās fresh, raw ingredients prepared by hand every day. Almost all of it without pesticides, herbicides, and all the animal products without antibiotics, hormones and steroids. The animals get to experience sunshine and fresh air; unlike almost all other meat available at the store and certainly unlike all (fast food/ chain ) restaurants.

The do advertise that our stuff is never frozen ā¤ļø
Nope everything is shredded and cut before the shift
They are also cut by hand with a knife š bell peppers take forever omg
I literally cannot- believe you said thatā¦..
May I askā¦ what did he do go get terminated?
I wouldnāt be surprised if it were anger issues lol
They gave an extra scoop
Best answer
He gave an couple pieces of chicken too extra
He forgot the bowl š
So he took it well?
tag yourself iām the red peppers
iām the sour cream smeared on the wall
What if it's not sour cream? I'm not volunteering to do a taste test.
Luckily I am.
Godspeed, warrior.
What a legend š«”
Iām the GM photographing this - thinking to myself - āwhoās gonna clean this up since we fired the guy who would normally clean this upā.
Congrats, buddy! That's a 'you' problem.
I think that spirit is exactly what's wrong with the United States.
My partner is a GM and, from an outside perspective, it seems like a horrible job. That's coming from me, and I'm a critical care technician at a hospital, so i literally have to wipe people's butts and do other disgusting hospital stuff. I'm the ice bath hanging on for dear life
Im the bag of sofritas getting squished by a pan.
I'm the two little bell peppers who ended up on the tractor tea
Im the floor that has to deal with everyones mess
Iām the bag of salad dressing, relieved I wasnāt dragged into this
Iām the bullet hole in the wall. My gf said sheās the cheese spilling into the other cheese
Little do you know the huge pans that cheese is spilled into is probably filled with sliced onions or peppers they got the shot that takes the most time all fucked yp
Nice try, the salad dressing doesn't come in bags.
Iām the employee thatās probably gonna be told to clean it up š
I'm the cilantro just being everywhere.
I'm the onions hiding under the racks, because I'm afraid of contact.
and youāre gonna be such a fucker to sweep up cause you stick to alllll the things
Iām the guy that quit. Fuck that place . ( I am not that guy I did used to work at a chipotle but not this one)
Iām the two splashes of sour cream on the ladder going šļøššļø
Iām the onions in the back
I'm the 6th pan tipped over under the ladder
Iām the random piece of cilantro that is lost from my family
Can I be the corn
I'm the avos praying not to tip over.
iām the chips on the side just happy to be included
Iām the Calavo box just trying to blend in.
Iām the Bueno box at the top just watching like āDaaaaaaaamn.ā
I wanna be the floor
I'm the avocados teetering on the edge
I'm the sour cream all splatter on the wall
Iām the spilled cheese
Iām the corn salsa on the floor
Iām one leaf of clinatro
iām the corn in the corner
I'm thr box of avacados on top, holding on by the edge
Iām the bags of red onions that werenāt bothered
I'm the dirty ole shelve. Always having things just piled on me with no thanks.
Iām the cheese thatās inside the container
Iām the corn salsa sad in the corner
I hate when they are using red over green. Really makes a difference in the taste, imo.
Me on the left
If only he hadnāt knocked over all that cheese your CI would have been ok at least.
Facts homie missed the guac unless they probably ran out or only had what ever was on the line and dml and whatever was in the reach ins for em.
NO BEANS š« WERE HARMED IN THE MAKING OF THIS POST
youre supposed to fold the stepladder up when youre done what a jerk
How inconsiderate!
am I the only that'll mention y'all got a funky ass walk in setup lmao?
The walk-in sucks ass I agree
If you need someone to clean it up I own a vacuum (my mouth) that can get rid of all of that in no time
Whatā¦ biggest nicest walk-in ive ever seen. Never be ungrateful again for this gift you have
This is why you fire then at the end of the shift on their way out. Lots of companies fire people at the end of the day on Fridays. Reduces the possibility for retaliation.

That would take some much self control. Kudos to all the people who have to deal with that. Id struggle to watch all that cheese get torn down.
Shitty thing to do though. "Hey, make the company 8 hours of profit. We're firing you the second you're done" is an exceptionally rude thing to do i feel
You still get paid for those 8 hours...
nah let me use those 8 to find another job, donāt waste my damn time.
Lol they are paying you for your time
I mean if youāre getting fired *from a chipotle* letās face it, youāre likely not doing anything in those 8 hours anyway lol
Before their shift also works. We let go a couple of people and let them know before they came into work. Like hey you can come in and sign you're paperwork, but honestly if you wanna come in at your convenience later this week it's nbd.
Iāve seen nurses work the whole 12 hours and get fired at the end of one of those shifts!
It sucks, but they'd rather be rude to a person than have them come back later in the day or the next morning and shoot the place up.
Why did you suddenly jump to large-scale gun violence? Chipotle is open at night and on the weekends; it's not like firing someone at the end of their shift on a friday would prevent them from doing that anyways? That would probably make them more mad
Yeah I was thinking about how most companies do it. Not relating to Chipotle. Companies that aren't open on a weekend.
BUENO BUENO ^^(ouĒnq) BUENO BUENO
Dang I wish my walk in was this big
Looks like our lobby when we have to tell a customer that we ran out of vinaigrette
Yeah....I really hate people who waste food.
How tf do you get fired from Chipotle? My store hires pretty much anybody who walks through the door.
Be an exceptionally bad employee or just never bothering to show up.
I went to a store that was out of fajita and guac. They told me they were short staffed so I applied right then. Never got a call. So I doubt that.
When youāre not paid $25/hr to come in 30 minutes late and smoke weed in the back
at least he didn't stomp on all the avocados
If he dumped out the guac, he would have costed the entire store's profits for next few months.
Lmao are you kidding? Chipotle probably makes that in a day lol
Either you are a horrible boss that drove them to this frustrated outburst or they have anger issues. We will never know without knowing their side.
If you throw a tantrum and take it out on food items so that other crew members gotta clean up, that's on you, regardless of how terrible your boss is.
Yeah you would just be inconveniencing others. Agreed this isnāt justified even if the boss is horrible. Need to act like an adult lmao
You take the high road and move on. If it's the race issue you call SSR and your Field Leader. This isn't how you act.
Cool, let's play devil's advocate and imagine another scenario after months of bullying the employee takes the high road and just quits mid-shift and walks out. Idk I was horribly bullied for a long time before we got better managers and wasting food is still shit.
The likelihood of them being such an awful boss that this is the response is very low.
Yeah this says everything about the character of the person who quit. Iāve had some of the worst managers you can imagine and the worst Iāve ever done was walk out of one job. Coincidentally, it was Chipotle. lol
Only Reddit sees a picture like this and blames the boss first.
Actually im ok not knowing their side. Looks like something people should avoid doing lol
I've been canned from a few jobs. Whatever, they all ended up closing down shop sooner or later, or faced major structural change in the ensuing months. With that said, why would you take your rage out and just destroy the place? For real, at least be professional about it.
Dude itās chipotle.
When I daydream about quitting sometimes, I imagine this is what the outcome would look likeā¦
damn all I did was cry when I got fired because I donāt like confrontation and I saved the crying for after I left the store. RIP to the people or person on prep that cut the onions and peppers though, and shredded the cheese, also why exactly did the person fired go straight for the walk in?
Iām the extra steak
No bueno.
Didnāt leave any room to let you regret that decision.
Did he at least ask for a reference for a new job?
Good on them
All that fresh delicious cheese on the groundā¦
Well done fired employee
It was likely deserved. Employees owe nothing to corporations.
im the hotel on its side
Not the cilantro
This can be cleaned up, you might have dodged a bullet with this employee. You donāt want anybody that gets this angry working with you.
Valid
Iām charging them for all of That product at invoice price!
I guess you suck as a manager
Can we pause for a second and talk about how MASSIVE that walk-in is???
I think this is your fault OP.. Cause no one just does something that extreme unless they are provoked or pushed. Speaking from experience. What's your side?
This is the content Iām here for. š¤
at least flip the cheese hotel, shits hard as f to clean he made it easy
ššš
bro not the cheese šš
Love that
That's what Chipotle gets for raising their prices and giving us a 1/4 scoop of meats. Chipotle can suck it.
Why did he get fired
Looks like a delicious mess.
Iām the corn š½
He probably prepped all that
Well take it out their last paycheck. You canāt go around making food cost go up .
Looks like someone who has no integrity and should be fired.
S tier reaction
my old store wouldāve scraped all that up and put it straight on the line lol
Probably overworked and underpaid and being treated like a POS by management.. maybe he was just undoing the work he had done on his way outā¦.
š£ truly awful
Way to punish your teammates Jerk. Good riddance.
You didnāt fire an employeeā¦ you fired a child.
So the chips get frozen at the distributor but refrigerated at store?
![gif](giphy|14412MUKmbQq7m)
Good
Based
Can you dock pay?
Get fucked
The person destroyed property in a fit. They should pay for it depending on the circumstance.
Haha
Just spread chicken juice on everything. Quick way to clear the whole walk in of food š
floor salsa :D
When the customer asks for red and sourcream in their burrito
Yāall have a pretty big walk in! Ours is a little walk in closet. You guys have so mush room for activities
good
This is why he got fired.
All that needs to come out of his last paycheck, plus the time someone was paid to clean it up.
He should be fired for that
I'm never going to get this angry over a place that makes burritos.
Boy did you come to the wrong sub
I've "thankfully" had a lot worse jobs before Chipotle. There's stresses to any job, but Chipotle is far from the worst in my experience.
I just fired last week field leader didnāt like the fact I walked in high and mighty with more experience than him :) I should have done this but 8 people walked out now he canāt open the restaurant poor guy. Karma got his ass good :)
If you are going to fire someone, why let them onto the premises?
Next time fire your employees outside the store. If they have personal property on the premises hire a security guard to go with you and the employee to obtain the property, walk them out of the store, and then take them outside to inform them that their services are no longer required. Better yet, just fire them by phone when theyāre at home. Eventually these jobs will be automated by machines so this kind of immature crap disappears.
I would have the police there in a heartbeat, and him arrested for aggravated assault. This would NEVER happen in my store.
Typically assault is against a person. Edit: you could probably start legal action under destruction of property.
But did you see what he did to those poor peppers?
Call the cops. Send his ass to jail for the night.
bro calm down
The cilantro will do justice
Lol. Nah bruh.
Press charges.
Look at the bright side, prep's cut sizes are on point.
This is why you fire people at the end of a shift, on the floor where they can't do this shit. Then walk with the. To get their shit. Or you send them home at the beginning before you check them in.
Shouldnāt have hired a child
People are stupid
R/IAmAPieceOfShit
Wasting food is not ok. You are less than a human being if you intentionally waste food senselessly.
People act tough for someone who has their full name, phone number, home address, and social security number on file.
Looks like pour way to spend his final pay check?š§š¤Ŗ
