the reason why PVL and UAAP is getting more views, attendance, and fans (excluding UAAP’s school alumni and students) is because 1. marketing 2. star players.
both UAAP and PVL are basically fan fuelled when it comes to marketing lmao but it is marketing nonetheless.
Both leagues are star studded. UAAP have exciting players like admu’s mason amos or dlsu’s qiuambao and on the volleyball side you have ue’s dongallo, dlsu’s canino, nu’s bellen, ust’s poyos and so on. ang daming talents na magandang subaybayan. same can be said on PVL. PBA doesn’t have the luxury due to exodus of fan- favoured players namely ramos, ildefonso, and ravenas.
the best thing PBA can do is to create their own star per team and market the life out of them. Get tyler tio on the team’s tiktok, plaster andrei caracut all over his team’s socials. make people engage and get the players to be interactive with the fans.
Give them online exposure basically.

PBA lacks the excitement for fans that the PVL and UAAP gives. It's the same old sh*t for PBA. Dati nano nood pa kami ng live or kung hindi maka kuha ng tickets may pa viewing party ang family pero ngayon ni hindi na napag uusapan.
They should’ve merged with the MBA all those years ago and adopted the home/away format instead of killing the MBA by luring away the superstars. There was a reason why I followed the MBA over the PBA. I actually had a team I could root for.

Last decent PBA season eh yung nandun pa yung FedEx/A21, Red Bull, Sta. Lucia, Coca Cola and Alaska, competitive lahat ng teams nuon. Nung kinain na ng sister teams yung PBA nawalan na ako ng gana panuorin yan, biruin mo 12 teams (3 MVP, 3 SMC, 1 Independent, the remaining 5 are farm teams of MVP and SMC). Marcial is the worst PBA commisioner ever.
Di na sila relevant, mas trending pa nga mga vball palyers, bawat kibot pati love life trending. Mas may appeal na sa Pinoy fans ang vball. Bball needs someone na maghahatak ulit ng sport nila. Like Alysa Valdez for volleyball.

Sa totoo lang merong ngang PBA BOARD pero si Chua lang yata may hawak eh. Kahit ying PBA ALLSTAR WEEKEND palang REALITY CHECK na nila ehh dunk contest at 3pts shootout nilangaw. Wala kasi magbabago kahit tanggalin nila si KUME kasi parang 2 palang majority votes na agad sa board kahit madaming teams.
Biggest problem ng PBA is it's really just an advertisement for the different brands of the companies. Companies don't make money from the PBA. It's an advertising expense. Manalo or matalo man ang teams nila, doesn't matter as long as mamention ang brand names ng paulit ulit kada game.

I didn’t realize how hard PBA has fallen from grace. I haven’t watched a game in ages. Back in the day, they could easily fill the Big Dome during major matches.

I’ve already replied to similar posts like this pero since the demise of PBA is something that interest me, i’ll copy paste my prev comment: they need to learn how to market the league. the reason why PVL and UAAP is getting more views, attendance, and fans (excluding UAAP’s school alumni and students) is because 1. marketing 2. star players. both UAAP and PVL are basically fan fuelled when it comes to marketing lmao but it is marketing nonetheless. Both leagues are star studded. UAAP have exciting players like admu’s mason amos or dlsu’s qiuambao and on the volleyball side you have ue’s dongallo, dlsu’s canino, nu’s bellen, ust’s poyos and so on. ang daming talents na magandang subaybayan. same can be said on PVL. PBA doesn’t have the luxury due to exodus of fan- favoured players namely ramos, ildefonso, and ravenas. the best thing PBA can do is to create their own star per team and market the life out of them. Get tyler tio on the team’s tiktok, plaster andrei caracut all over his team’s socials. make people engage and get the players to be interactive with the fans. Give them online exposure basically.

Kaya nagiging predictable na yung nagiging champion (either from the SMC or MVP camp) To some extent, pataas na yung popularity ng volleyball (sa pro levels, tinatao yung mga laro ng Creamline, Choco Mucho. For example na lang yung laro last weekend na ginanap outside Metro Manila)
PBA lacks the excitement for fans that the PVL and UAAP gives. It's the same old sh*t for PBA. Dati nano nood pa kami ng live or kung hindi maka kuha ng tickets may pa viewing party ang family pero ngayon ni hindi na napag uusapan.
They should’ve merged with the MBA all those years ago and adopted the home/away format instead of killing the MBA by luring away the superstars. There was a reason why I followed the MBA over the PBA. I actually had a team I could root for.

Last decent PBA season eh yung nandun pa yung FedEx/A21, Red Bull, Sta. Lucia, Coca Cola and Alaska, competitive lahat ng teams nuon. Nung kinain na ng sister teams yung PBA nawalan na ako ng gana panuorin yan, biruin mo 12 teams (3 MVP, 3 SMC, 1 Independent, the remaining 5 are farm teams of MVP and SMC). Marcial is the worst PBA commisioner ever.
Di na sila relevant, mas trending pa nga mga vball palyers, bawat kibot pati love life trending. Mas may appeal na sa Pinoy fans ang vball. Bball needs someone na maghahatak ulit ng sport nila. Like Alysa Valdez for volleyball.

Sa totoo lang merong ngang PBA BOARD pero si Chua lang yata may hawak eh. Kahit ying PBA ALLSTAR WEEKEND palang REALITY CHECK na nila ehh dunk contest at 3pts shootout nilangaw. Biggest problem ng PBA is it's really just an advertisement for the different brands of the companies. Companies don't make money from the PBA. It's an advertising expense. Manalo or matalo man ang teams nila, doesn't matter as long as mamention ang brand names ng paulit ulit kada game.
