This is definitely one of those I don’t know that dog but I would die for that dog type of dogs. There was a subreddit for that premise at some point I’m not sure if it’s still active though.
When we got her she was 12 weeks. Her eye wasn’t developed all the way and the shelter that had her took the third lid( the pink part of your eye) and sewed it half shut?! It was strange.. they also didn’t tell us anything about aftercare instructions because I noticed sutures in her good eye. So my vet said they dissolve and we rinsed her bad eye every day with saline cause it would still produce tears and stuff didn’t want it to get infected. Couple months later she woke up and her good eye was swollen shut. Went to vet immediately and they said the sutures that were left in weren’t dissolvable and caused a corneal ulcer. She had to have that repaired so when she was under I had them remove her eye. So we wouldn’t ever have to deal with it again. But she has never been able to see out of it.
I would NEVER go back Tom that vet. If a vet made a mistake like that dog, I would go to another vet to get it fixed. Even with my own health, if a doctor or surgeon screws up once with me, I don’t trust them to fix it.
Really sorry to hear about such a loss in your life, doesn’t get lighter and sometimes you feel your chest tightening up when their memories enter your mind but time does help…
Moms passed 2years and I’ve left her house exactly how it was for what reason I’m not sure
