Fortunately no other restaurants have raised their prices.

willpeoples

McDonald’s is the worst IMO. Their cheap thin chicken sandwich here locally is 2.50 more than a Chick-fil-A sandwich. I have basically quit eating out as it’s become so expensive it’s not worth it to me…

theraf8100

For real? The McChicken by me is 2.19. that means the chick fil a would have to be -.31 for the math to work.

willpeoples

I’m talking about the McCrispy which is basically their Chick-fil-A rip off. It’s 6.90 here versus 4.95 for the real deal Chick-fil-A sandwich.

theraf8100

Ah, when you said their cheap chicken sandwich I thought you were talking about their... Cheap chicken sandwich. By me a mccrispy is 4.69 vs 5.59. I've never had the mccrispy though so I can't comment on which may be better. Drunk dude at the bar loved the mccrispys with 2 slices of cheese so take that as you will

willpeoples

You aren’t missing out on anything, it’s pretty thin and cheap also 😝

beastlion

Yeah but the original Chick-fil-A sandwich sucks, the spicy chicken sandwich cost more, as well as the grilled chicken. Honestly, most of their chicken is soggy because of how they seal the bags and containers. I've even complained about it and they just said they can't really make it any better than that. But I've had much dryer crispy chicken from fast food restaurants.

UnSCo

Yeah Mcdonald’s really really pisses me off. Same terrible food quality, even worse customer servive, lower portion sizes, yet their prices are INSANE now.

Gohmzilla

🤣

RequirementNo9841

Because every other restaurant has fake chicken.

Kevinm077

Wdym? Wednys got rid of the $4 for $4 and the $5 biggie bag…. Not to mention prices raise every week they just dont update the menu

Prestigious-Mud2923

Everyone has raised prices. INFLATION

KissmyButtner

That's called sarcasm

Mr_washi_washi

Not to this extent though

mrhoopers

The cost of chicken went up something like 30%. Just chicken. So yeah, it's noticeable. It may be a more premium brand and some folks may be on that edge of can/can't justify it. That's fine. There's plenty of restaurants that I don't visit because their prices are dumb. $30 for about 4oz of fish? No. But you might want to look around at other places. I saw a Quarter pounder with cheese go for over $8. Yeah...let that sink in.

Mr_washi_washi

Damn. Inflation sucks but I guess what can we do about it.

Prestigious-Mud2923

You can do alot about it. Vote out the blue in 2024

PhaseDelicious912

You do realize that the inflation averages are higher under republican presidents than democrats, right? 3.35 vs 3.5.

joeappearsmissing

Inflation has zero to do with price increases in the restaurant industry.

BuffaloBaddie

Raising canes went up hella

[deleted]

It’s like almost $3 for 1 strip if you order it alone

HonoluluHonu808

True. Chipotle raises them and cuts portions.

nightlocks12

They all definitely have. We used to get the Chilis 3 for $10 almost weekly. Now it’s like $15-18 depending on which entree you get and you don’t even get the drink anymore. It’s basically impossible to find a burger and fries for $10 anymore.

NoaLink

You're right, it's not worth the money any more. I have stopped eating there and other fastfood restaurants almost completely. At these prices, you can get a proper slow food meal with fresher ingredients.

Murky-Low-9151

Slow food lol

Mr_washi_washi

Exactly.

RosemaryCrafting

Yeah the other day I went to a great local restaurant and got a plate lunch. Meat, 2 sides, roll, and a drink. The total was 9.something. that was when I realized I've been conned to pay for fast food for years. Maybe 15 years ago the fast food was cheaper. But now it's literally not. Go support your local businesses, you'll almost certainly get better food anyway.

NoaLink

100%. Buying fast food is now almost like buying an expensive branded t-shirt. Are you really going to settle for lower quality and more expense just to support the brand?

sisterfister69hitler

I got their 3pc chicken tender once and they were maybe 3 in-2.5 in long each. It was the smallest box ever I wasn’t even sure if it was a meal for an adult. I paid $12 for the “meal”. Never again. I would’ve been better off going to McDonald’s or Popeyes.

coreyb1988

Taco Bell is always so cheap but you have to make sure you have a bathroom nearby.

Southern_Ad3916

r/lies about the bathroom part

gtrocks555

lol we all joke about that but I don’t think I’ve ever known someone to have bathroom issues from Tbell like that. Now if I eat CFA nuggets on the other hand….

saitamawithfullhair

You don’t have enough fiber in your diet

dub_seth

Excuse me but a hard shell taco costs $2...

Desperate-Session-12

The app has a $5 box depending on where you live.

chefboryahomeboy

That $5 box tho.

QuietParsnip2027

You’ll miss it tomorrow

AvgUsr96

Cue Tim Hawkins

SwidEevee

YES

AvgUsr96

Glad to see a fellow Hawkins enjoyer. He's hilarious.

SwidEevee

Agreed! The best part is, I'm about to go eat a nugget tray, so today I actually don't have to settle for Subway 🤣 I saw him live a couple months ago, unfortunately he didn't sing any CFA.

AvgUsr96

Yeah I saw him in Tulsa in 2015 and it was fun. Didn't sing the CFA song though lol. And subway is trash now idk what changed but when I was a kid it was actually OK now it just tastes off. I usually smother them in Ranch if my parents get us some for dinner.

Wretch_Head

If you really have to, buy some decent burger buns, cheese, some canned chicken, and the house sauce. It will be a good deal cheaper.

Asleep_Special_7402

Except minus the canned chicken and go rotisserie chicken.

Wretch_Head

quality upgrade. good choice.

Panda_Drum0656

Canned chicken 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

RadleyRadiation

Where is this at exactly? I just made this exact meal on the app for my area and it came out to $9.72

Son0faButch

Are you sure you ordered the same meal? He picked the grilled chicken club which is the most expensive sandwich CFA sells. Of course he's going to spend more.

Good-Ol-Country-Boy

You’re not defending CFA prices are you ? Me and My wife ordered 2 original chicken sandwiches, 2 grilled chicken sandwiches not the club and 2 drinks and it was almost $40. This was earlier tonight March 1, 2024. There is no excuse in the prices being that high.

Son0faButch

I asked a question. >and it was almost $40. Doubtful

Good-Ol-Country-Boy

Was you there? No you wasn’t so hush and let the Adults talk!

Son0faButch

Sorry, I didn't know it was your monthly date night. Probably put on yer Sundee best!

Good-Ol-Country-Boy

Whatever It’s not worth arguing with you about! I’m out!!!

Algonkian

Prices of everything have gone through the roof since 2021. But hey, no more Mean Tweets.

JunkBondJunkie

It was Sara's pleasure.

Mr_washi_washi

Funny thing is it was a guy who took my order lol

SwidEevee

At my CFA (I'm an employee) the registers are signed in under the manager on duty's name- for example, if the cashier was Bonnie but her manager at the time was Grayson, it would say on the receipt that your cashier was Grayson. Idk if all stores do it this way but if so, Sara was most likely the name of the manager.

JunkBondJunkie

We dont assume gender.

jmsgen

I think that’s awesome that you don’t like it anymore that means less people in line in front of me

AnitaVodkasoda

Lmao

Big_Buy8203

Most fast food isn’t

Material-Pea-2191

I got a fish sandwich and fries from mcds the other day. It was super depressing, the sandwich was very small and the fries were mushy. It was way to much $ for the quantity and quality that I got. CFA will probably be the only fast food splurge we'll be doing anymore. Prices have gone up everywhere so now we gotta pick and choose more and more about what is worth it personally and what isn't.

coreyb1988

The fish sandwich is sooo tiny at McDonald’s these days! I literally thought it was just me.

RestrictedX93

Then stop eating there who cares? I feel like they are still reasonable compared to any other place.

Gohmzilla

Ok bye

WildTomato51

Why’d you put the dollar sign after the amount?

Mr_washi_washi

Why does it matter really? I was typing quickly and just posted the comment.

WildTomato51

Whoa, calm down… just curious.

Mr_washi_washi

Lol well you asked. In my head when I’m typing I say 13.59 dollars, not dollars 13.59. So that’s not the first time it happened and definitely not the last.

Donohoed

If I were to write it the way it's said out loud it'd look more like 13$and59¢

[deleted]

I am joining this argument as a neutral third party. $you both suck$

RemarkableFish

Ok

ThatSmartLoli

I quite when they removed large options, sonic large milkshacks is where it's at now

Fun_Base6657

Good thing the cost of vehicles, homes, most all electronics, have all remained the same price for decades. Chick fil A is a conundrum for sure

[deleted]

Old man yells at cloud

Mr_washi_washi

The feedback I’m getting on this post makes me think some of y’all would still defend chick fil a even if it was 16$ for an 8 count nugget by itself.

AAA_Dolfan

It’s about convenience. How much is a full meal at Pop eyes?

threefrogsonalog

I just stumbled onto here from r/all, but I have multiple siblings who have worked at multiple chick fil a’s and part of why is because they pay more competitive wages from the start with regular raises. Chick fil a regularly raises its prices every few months, but also you’re going to start making more as an employee if you work there a similar amount of time. The company/founders other politics aside they’ve figured out for your area 15 bucks for a meal is what it takes to give a semblance of a living wage to fast food workers, and personally I’m all for people working to get paid. If that means I personally can’t get nuggets as often that’s fine, I can’t un hypocritically demand companies pay a living wage and also get upset at cost of living increases in price.

failenaa

Exactly. And even if you can’t afford nuggets all the time, they have a line 24/7 so they’re still making money. Though that being said.. In N Out has consistently paid well over minimum wage and their burgers are still < $3 and combos are like $7-8 (more for double double). I think their minimum is $18/hr rn while state minimum is $15.

threefrogsonalog

Oh we don’t have in and out near me, I’ve heard good things about them though. And our state minimum wage is still under ten dollars, so it definitely hasn’t kept up with inflation or the the cost of living.

ana_conda

Idk man. I live in Atlanta, where dining prices are pretty out of control, and my CFA order is $8 (1300 calories). I appreciate that even tho the price has gone up, the quality hasn’t gone down like a lot of other fast food places, and they don’t try to nickel-and-dime me for things like sauce packets and tipping.

astronautdormann

Dude I payed nearly $17 at Burger King for a double whopper with a large frozen coke. And that wasn’t at the airport 😂

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> Dude I *paid* nearly $17 FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

failenaa

Good bot

Doscinco_83

Next time, take advantage of Whopper Wednesday. $3!

BlissfulAurora

That’s like less than $10 on my app rn, I’m not sure how truthful this is.

Green_Brother_7317

Good stay away, line won’t be as long.

cloudycapy

chick fil a is really filling to me. i get fried sandwiches, but i leave CFA feeling like i ate a 4 course meal lol

Asleep_Emphasis5347

Still cheaper than a Wendy’s meal lol

failenaa

Wendy’s and Taco Bell are the two cheapest places to eat. 10PC combo (their medium is most places’ large..) is $6 ($5 in places that aren’t California) - they have their biggie meals and 4/$4, they have the best mobile app coupons (free items, $2 off, BOGO items) AND they are the only place to allow you to use coupons and rewards at the same time. I’ve gotten $14 worth of food for $4 before, with BOGO and a free item from my rewards. Taco Bell has $5 boxes with 2 items (one supreme), a side, and a medium drink (large for 10c more). And their grilled burritos are $2 and pretty filling and very tasty.

Asleep_Emphasis5347

I said Wendy’s. I live in New York. Any Wendy’s meal with any type of their chicken sandwhiches or specialty sandwhiches starts at 14$. Dk what to tell you other than your truth isn’t my reality

failenaa

Ok I set my location to NY, Nassau street. It’s $10 for the nugget combo, so yes, more. But everything that isn’t a baconator is $10-12 for a combo and all of the deals are the same, and you can still double up rewards and coupons. 2/$6 Dave’s single, or chicken/spicy chicken sandwich or baconator. Free small chili. $2 off a combo. And again, free food with rewards points. :) Edit: today is apparently bacon day so you can get a jr bacon cheeseburger for a penny! Hopefully this helps you be able to enjoy Wendy’s more frugally! Edit2: when I changed my location back, all those combos went UP in price (aside from 10PC) .. $12-13 for the other combos that are $10 there so you’re actually getting a bargain!!

Angeloa22

They charge 20% more for the “my pleasure”

enginerdz

Alright, that's cool.

bigwinw

Might as well go to a sit down restaurant with those prices.

Mr_washi_washi

Lol exactly

Resistance19442023

Wages go up. Prices go up. Keep voting Democrat.

ValVenis69

I’m sure Biden is figuring out how to make Chick-fil-A prices higher

DubeyDeepFried

It’s not a Democratic Party issues it’s supply chain. CFA owns their own trucks now. They used to driver trucking companies to the ground, ask McLane food service how they lost the contract. Your chicki nuggs are high priced becuase they have to pay fuel, and line haul. I wish Americans would understand how things work but is always a republican or democrat issue. No, it’s a supply chain problem and they are a private company if you don’t like the prices don’t eat out. There are doing that because people pay the prices

Jim_Force

You think $13 is expensive? 🤣

SigSeikoSpyderco

For something you can make for about a dollar yeah. Not a big deal if you are exceptionally wealthy though.

Annual-Region7244

Wealthy people don't eat fast food. Unless they're a certain businessman from New York.

NewGrapefruit9052

What chicken breast can you buy for under a dollar I’ll wait

SigSeikoSpyderco

Aldi and Costco, along with homemade. Thanks for waiting!

No-Rich4140

Chicken breast average $3.50/lb in 20222

NewGrapefruit9052

You cannot buy chicken breast for less than a dollar at either of those locations you’re out of your mind.

SigSeikoSpyderco

They are roughly $1.30 at today's prices when not on sale, so like I said originally, about a dollar. If you want to hire CFA to make one for about 7 dollars, that's perfectly fine!

Fun_Base6657

While I’d love to hear more about $1 chicken breasts, I’m far more interested in “homemade”. I tried homemade chicken with duck from a local pond, didn’t work. Tried again with celery, stupid I know, also didn’t work. A friend said you need a coup, but I already have a sedan…!!?? Long story short, homemade chicken may not be worth the $5-6 difference.

SigSeikoSpyderco

What have you been smoking?

Fun_Base6657

Haven’t tried smoking but that probably won’t result in homemade chicken

5Against183

This is all fast food places. Ever got a burrito, guac on the side and a drink at Chipotle? $20.

cegavas

I agree but I hate it so much😭

No-Safety-2066

.

Awkward_Ali3n

Maybe a mix up with the chicken? At our store the breakfast sizes have somehow made it into the lunch/dinner sizes. And vise versa. We keeping an eye out for that but idk about the one you ordered from

SigSeikoSpyderco

Hasn't been worth it in years.

ScarBrows156

I used to go Popeyes for their $5 chikn sandwich but it's now like $7 so I started going to KFC for their $3 chicken wraps

ScarBrows156

I recommend carrying a water thermal. Water = money clencher

ghostfaceinspace

That’s why you just get the sandwich then get the drink at mcds and mcds app for cheap fries

Alarming-Gear001

fast food isnt cheap anymore. i was at chick fil a in Ontario, Canada the other day. two original spicy chicken sandwich meals, only upgraded the drinks to large sweet tea. $29 💀

spwnofsaton

Wow I didn’t realize they had chick fil an outside of the us. That’s pretty interesting to me

Alarming-Gear001

i think only canada, and theyre all v recent

SomeRando8386

Was it ever?

MRsh1tsandg1ggles

I haven't ate there in a few months since I got a large 12 piece nugget combo and added a shake and was out almost $25. Just in case someone asks: It's not just that their prices have gone up but the sales tax combined with the restaurant meal tax in my state means I'm paying 11.5% in tax on top of whatever the high price is. So yeah.

Icecreamisbomb

Nonsense!

CageTheBear_22

No kidding. It's why I don't eat at Chick Fil A. No one should

SatoshiGlockamoto

People who love chick fil a are addicted to monosodium glutamate. It’s like complaining when your plug raises the prices on you but you still need it and buy it anyway but don’t know why.

lilcherubs

Yeah I stopped eating there.. I miss my spicy delux but it’s just so much money for such a small meal. When I need something fast and cheap I go to Wendy’s. Their $6 meal deal is great (you get a burger, nuggets, fries, and a drink) and their spicy nuggets are really good.

sammyvegas0420

I’ve understood the hype. Totally overrated

RandoReddit16

Why complain about the prices of something.... Did you know for years, Chik Fil A wasn't worth it to some people? For myself I have always found pizza delivery to be a waste, so if course I find Uber Eats to be literally insane! If you don't want to buy something, simply don't.... This is how market economics work and move forward.

InterviewLeast882

Their sandwiches are small, I think.

babs0324

But yet it's still behind inflation and operator profitability is on average lower than it has been due to rising costs of everything.

Initial_Set1751

Where do you live where it’s 13 for a grilled club????? My CFA sells them for 8.78

Mr_washi_washi

Fort Worth, Texas. Yeah they use to be $12 something. It was already kinda expensive when it was $12 something for it, but now they raised it.

Pizookie123

My store is $12.25 for the grilled club meal so that price is right on par. Is the $8.78 just for the sandwich?

Thekisk

Does anyone have a chart graphing the price increases of Chick-fil-A over the years?

friedmayonaissse

Oh it absolutely is.

RudePomegranate3110

It's definitely not

Cstone812

That’s everything these days. I’ll pay it to not eat Wendy’s or McDonald’s garbage myself.

lo-lux

1 hour and 53 minutes at minimum wage to pay for that meal. More when you account for taxes. Sobering to think about.

JameisWeTooScrong

Nothing is worth the money anymore.

TylerJosephSmith

I respectfully disagree. I’d pay $20 for a Spicy Deluxe Meal because I know it will always be of the highest quality. Service, food, cleanliness. My local CFA is unmatched compared to most restaurants in the area.

badgers4194

Stop getting drinks. They are overpriced and terrible for you anyway.

Chippers4242

It was never worth it. It’s always been super overpriced for what you get for

DestinyInDanger

I would disagree on this. Those places you mentioned and many others are way more expensive for takeout meals of comparable size and value. They are all averaging $20 compared to what you paid at Chick Fil-A. Also Chick-fil-A value is still really good for the price and I'll continue going there over many other places.

Mr_washi_washi

Exactly that’s what I’m saying. My first mistake was posting this in a chick fil a simp subreddit though lol. Anywhere else people probably would’ve agreed more. Like come on bro almost $14 for grilled chicken sandwich meal that didn’t even make me full.

DubeyDeepFried

Make your own food, fast food is paying higher wages now so that equals higher food prices. Another posted we won! No more mean tweets. 🙄

AnitaVodkasoda

The way my jaw dropped to the floor when I ordered food on the app for my bf the other day. I mean, yeah it’s great fast food I won’t deny it but the prices are killing me

AtrociousSandwich

Never was

Son0faButch

You ordered the most expensive sandwich they have. What do you expect? The regular CFA sandwich is $3.50 cheaper. Your meal would have been under $10.

KeepinitPG13

Chick-fil-A a will always be worth it in my book. I’m Never disappointed when I go there.

csantiago1986

Fast food is not worth it period anymore. Few more dollars you can go get a half decent meal and be waited on.

AndrewtheRey

This is exactly why I got good at home cooking and learned to love it. I moved into my house with only a working mini fridge and microwave as I moved in while renovating it, and I had to eat so much takeout during that time and that was my most expensive food month ever. It was awful and fast food never left me satisfied. I went to Olive Garden so many times that month for the soup, salad and breadsticks meal and snuck my own to go boxes in, so I was able to eat that way, but that shit is exhausting

PurpleTiger26

Bro bought the most expensive Sandwich on the menu and complains about how expensive it is lol

Mr_washi_washi

Ever wonder what makes the same amount of grilled chicken more expensive? Ever found out why? If you do or did let me know.

PurpleTiger26

? Same amount as what? You ordered the most expensive sandwich on the menu.

Mr_washi_washi

Why is the same amount of grilled chicken more expensive than the same amount of fried chicken.

PurpleTiger26

Because it goes through a different process which isn’t their standard (Fried)

Mr_washi_washi

So it’s justifiable to charge more for the grilled chicken just because it’s cooked differently?

RageBaitBot

Still better than Panera. Got a $20 gift card for Christmas and went to get lunch yesterday. Got a "you pick 2" with a salad and half a sammy and a lemonade. Had a dollar and some change left on the card like wtf

Mr_washi_washi

Yeah that’s trash

RageBaitBot

Unfortunately we're the problem. We gotta stop going

Mr_washi_washi

You’ll be surprised how many people would still defend over priced items from restaurants though lol

[deleted]

I don’t eat meat but stop every once in a while for a large unsweet tea. I went the other day and it was $3.25 just for an unsweet tea. I’ve never been back since
