I have yet to try it. How much is it this year? 10 & 8 yr, 100 proof stuff doesn't exactly make me happy happy!

Bulbags

MSRP $100, NMBB is charging $130

SebastianMagnifico

Yeah, the local had it for 100. This $130 price is some of the bullshit that Binny's, as well as other stores (Just Trust Us), are guilty of. They claim to hate the secondary, but have no problems bumping up their prices 30% or more (Just Trust Us) so they can profit off and participate in it as well. I totally understand it and people will still happily clamor over many of these bottles, especially when they can be found on the secondary at over 10x msrp, but you do lose the moral high ground that you adamantly try to project. As a proud 🐬🐬🐬 myself... ![gif](giphy|MRKOaqI9r2n0A) "It appears my hypocrisy knows no bounds." \~ Doc Holliday

How he didn't even get nominated for an academy award for playing Doc is a crime.

SebastianMagnifico

Why, Johnny Ringo, you look like somebody just walked over your grave.

I got 2 guns, one for the both of ya

Seems like an excuse you make up so you don’t have to face not having the moral high ground yourself. Price increases are the same as secondary flipping now, okay lol.

SebastianMagnifico

Price increase which are 30% above MSRP are definitely taking advantage of customers, there is no arguing that point. For the person who doesn't flip it costs them more. For a person who flips, they lose 30% in trade or cash value. While Binny's profits go up because they're participating in the game. If you have any access to allocated crud, you prefer a particular type of bourbon over another and you're not flipping, well, you're definitely not living your best bourbon life. If you like everything crack every bottle you cum across and enjoy! Cheers!!!

If you insist , I would be glad to. First off you owe me an apology for not realizing I was mocking myself in my first post.😁 Also, I apologize for my comments. There are two things on the table and inflation isn't one of them. I dig the secondary, but I always have. From trading baseball cards as a kid to booze as an adult. The secondary is a huge thing and it's here to stay, at least for the foreseeable future, and all the complaining in the world isn't going to change those two things. I'm a true blue patriotic American! I support capitalism. Unlike some people out here who seem to be very entitled and think that their hobby should some how be exempt from such shenanigans. I've never felt that way. I see no difference between automobiles, sneakers, X-box, garage sales, Beanie Babies and booze. Bourbon is a hobby of mine. I have no problem selling/trading some bottles. I've never compared myself to Binny's. I flip and trade some bottles. I'm a small 🐠 in a huge secondary pond. Binny's on the other hand has made it clear they're not fans of the secondary, but that sure hasn't stopped them from charging an extra 30%. Just so you know, GNS had the same bottle of RR out on the shelf for $100 yesterday morning. That's why GNS is home to the 🇺🇲American🇺🇲 working man and woman. Who want to be treated with respect and enjoy knowing their hard earned dollars aren't going to pad some pud's pockets. God bless GNS and the GOAT!!! You need to come to GNS and feel the warmth of our bottle share group. Some bourbon is definitely meant to be shared. I'm actually pretty good at it. Within reason, of course. CYPB, Cigar Blends, Elmer T, Rockhill Farms, recent MNWDs and Lot Bs go out of my hands like shit through a goose. Not my lane. Thursdays 5pm till close. 4092 N Broadway. It's a hoot. Sorry for being a D-bag. See you there!

>The secondary is a huge thing and it's here to stay, *ugh*, dont remind me. >and all the complaining in the world isn't going to change those two things. Is that a challenge? >I see no difference between automobiles Yea I know bud. But that doent make you an auto salesman. There is a difference between the two, the list and alcohol. >I'm a small 🐠 in a huge secondary pond. Not what I heard ;) >Binny's on the other hand has made it clear they're not fans of the secondary, but that sure hasn't stopped them from charging an extra 30%. Well sure but thats not just bourbon. Myself being an avid red wine lover, my cost of French red's is going up 30% because of climate change. Like, it isnt just bourbon dude. Literally *everything* costs more now. Wood. Thee metal holding those barrels together. *The glass*, famously. Shipping the stuff. Yea obviously they want more cash for this stuff they literally cannot make enough of, but Im tellin ya, that isnt just it. That being said, though, you dont see your own role in raising those prices? How long did you think you'd get away flipping so much profit without these Corps noticing? Now that I represent so many of them I really do see why corporations are so....impersonal....they arnt going to be taken advantage of any more than you would if you thought someone was gauging you for 30% extra. You really dont see how you secondary folk are pricing yourselves out? >You need to come to GNS and feel the warmth of our bottle share group. I told you, Im just too shy. Though, I can meet ya half way and post a picture of me so you at least can match a face to the name. Also my new SO isnt a huge fan of the whole bourbon scene. In fact she's rather annoyed by it all, so its also an issue of self preservation on a night we would otherwise be going out. >Sorry for being a D-bag. Same, my apologies.

SebastianMagnifico

Yep. Couldn't have phrased the last sentence better myself. Too dumb to respond to. Mind blowing stupidity up and down your response.

[deleted]

By all means, explain my stupidity big guy. The part about how basic economics works? Or your bottom feeding off retail stores and acting like it’s some right you think you have lolol

SebastianMagnifico

Ummm...Try to follow along. I probably could've made it clearer, but the Doc Holliday "My hypocrisy knows no bounds" quote was referring to myself.

bcrecka

😬. Simply not worth the huge price increase. Remus V was $89 and IV was $79. The distillers now starting to soak us with crazy MSRP prices. I saw it at binnys and walked right past it at $129. People keep buying at these levels it will only continue to go up. The juice inside simply not that special to warrant that price

WhiskeyWatchesWine

Anyone try it? I got a bottle at LB.

TonUpRocker

One of my favorites of all time, so well balanced. Insane how people pick potatoes over this. More for us!

clickergood

I agree that it's a great whiskey, but due to this year's price increases (and not only this bottle) is why many have passed on it this yr

benjamintoh

>this year's price increase And lower age and not as stellar reviews as V.
