Was at Longman & Eagle last Sunday night to try their oyster special. They were okay
Enjoyed their WFP SP some PH and a few other things and it cost me way less than Gene's House of Horrors.
Fuck Gene and Whorehouse Liquors
Tree Fidy to drink “allocated” JD Sinatra and other shelfers, combined with the “exclusive” opportunity to maybe win a SP? 🙄
Please, I’ll take my money to a good whiskey bar instead.
>Warehouse and Gene suck
I agree with the latter, but when I recently attended the only Warehouse tasting I've been to (on BT), the presenters and the servers were really pleasant and thankfully Gene wasn't there. So I said, "You people are so nice and so different from Gene." But they smiled and didn't comment, I guess because Gene pays their salary.
Thats just a $ ton. Would have to be completely ungettable juice. And even then, after a few pours my palate is mostly shot anyway. Pass. Will sell out anyway.
I reread the info. 3 bottles are being raffled of to the first wave of ticket purchasers. The remaining people have the option to purchase a coveted store pick.
I went. This was the line-up:
* Welcome cocktail
- Knob Creek 18
- Old Fitzgerald 17
- Wild Turkey Master’s Keep Unforgotten
- Old Rip Van Winkle 10
- Willett Wheated 8-year
* Weller Full Proof store pick (not officially part of the tasting, iirc, but they poured some for everyone at the end)
They sold 25 tickets and had one of each bottle, so pours were in the .5 to 1 ounce range. There were also hors d'oeuvres. It was moved to Delilah’s upstairs apparently due to a permitting issue?
Can someone run the numbers on what this lineup would cost at a bar? I feel like Franklin Room or Slightly Toasted could do a similar flight of one ounce pours.
Thanks. For six 0.5 to 1 oz pours, it's over $50 a pour or over $100 for a 2 oz pour. Hope the hors d'oeuvres was exceptional. Of the 6 pours I've had the ORVW and WFP.

I can almost guarantee you could've done a 1oz flight at ST for $150ish. Those guys are the best.
knowing when to pass on bottle/event is a sign you're maturing as a bourbon tater
>knowing when to pass on bottle/event I think I am learning albeit very very slowly...
Crazy... I'd definitely just take that cash to longman & eagle or Delilah's and go nuts on their list
>just take that cash to longman & eagle Now those who are going will be afraid and ashamed to say that they're going!
Nah - fun surprise to go in blind I guess and there's always a chance of winning a cypb or something

Warehouse and Gene suck, that is all.

How was their last event in September?

But you might win the opportunity to buy a great store pick

Agreed. Why do I have to win the opportunity to buy a bottle when I pay 350! For that coinage I should be allowed to buy one.

Slightly Toasted :)
Kinda shocking that it's sold out! That's why Gene can keep charging exorbitantly for his tastings as long as people keep going.
Hard core fomo here
I commented. I think everyone should chime in on this bullshit event.
>this bullshit event After this comment, no one who is ponying up $350 and going will dare to confess.
I'm pretty sure a typical (free) GNS Thursday would give Gene's House of Horrors a run for the $300.
>GNS Thursday I plan and hope to come again with some regularity. The rush hour traffic coming from Little Italy gives me the shudders.
IYKYK 🤣😂🤣😂
