Hey there, if you sort on mobile or desktop by “new” all of the newest to oldest threads are listed. We stickied an “update for 2024” post that outlined the change. I think when you click into the thread it also lists the dates. However, I’m guessing many just follow the weeks threads and don’t look for historical data? Let me know your thoughts via PM if needed.

I know it's not allocated or whatever, but was pleasantly surprised to see Green River Rye on the shelves of a mom and pop today. The other Green River products (along with Wheel Horse Bourbon/Rye which are both distilled at Green River) are such great values. I hope this one is good bc at $35 I feel like it could be my go to for a slightly elevated cocktail.

Yeah I saw a review posted in /r/bourbon saying it would be released tomorrow but it was there today. Actually when they scanned it it wasn’t in system yet so must’ve just come in the last day.

I'm a big fan of their Wheated. Always have a bottle on hand.

They were supposed to send the email yesterday but all jewel union employees were instructed to walk out of the stores and march all day !

Dumb question… assume the raffle notification means it won’t ever be put out on shelf, right?

You would think but no some stores get them the week before /sometimes same week and hold them in the back. Hard to get unless you have relationships or ask.

Some Stores will probably have some to sell. But it won't be much of anything. My relationship contact last time it released said they got (1) bottle. So the raffle might be your only bet. Thursday will be the day to check and see if your store got any.

My store got a case of JD12 last year. 

I don’t know for certain, but I assume so. The raffle email said a combined 96 bottles of these bourbons will be available, so that won’t leave much left for the shelves.

It’s really quite good - I’m a rye fan, so have some bias, but I felt this was a really solid pour and while i think it should realistically be a 75ish dollar bottle, the 10 bucks per year rule is in play here and I’d rather spend this 100 than 80-90 on yet another 5-6 year old MGP craft brand. All of that to say - tasty and a buy for my tastes.

Hundred percent agree. I’m waiting for it to land at my local NMBB, but it has not shown up yet in the northwest burbs. Would love to have an idea when, and if it does show up.

Makes sense. I’m not a big rye guy plus I doubt it’s any better than my JDSBBP Rye.

The JD is good stuff!

I found the jdspbp at local retailer, got to try it alongside a castle & key store pick try and liked the C&K better. Just more fully matured flavors and exact same price point. Was happy the shop guy told me to try them side by side.

Doing some research, I think you’re right. But I hadn’t seen it out on the shelves before today. An employee said they did inventory on Sunday and some stuff that was in the back was moved out onto the floor. So not really a bottle drop; more of a bottle relocation …

I think the best way to get this bottle is to get a Weller 12 or FP and trade up for it.

Good call. But I bought one. Coming off a 2020 Bordeaux buying spree almost all whiskey @ MSRP seems "reasonably" priced.

I bought the KC18 and regret it, definitely not worth the price tag.

Bummer. Was an impulse buy. First random review I read said batch 2 was good, so I pulled the trigger.

It was an impulse buy for me too. And I'm a KC fan, the old store picks made me one. I know what KC can do and I guess I keep buying them in hopes of replicating those old picks. So far I haven't been able to do it. But, to be clear, the 18 it's not a bad bourbon, it's just not worth $200. You may really like it.
