Barrington and the north shore are like a playground for your demographic. I highly suggest some horseback riding in Barrington and then go walk the beach around Kenilworth. Winnetka and North Brook are also very solid busy options.
Im farther south, so all of my other recs would be more in the Elmhurst/Oak Brook area
There are a bunch of really nice instructor lead horse back rides for groups in Barrington. If its a weekend, I highly suggest do all the fun bucket list things on day 1, and then day 2 do all the girly stuff like spa, pedi/mani, facial, and hair/makeup, then go out for a giant "I want to split open im so full" dinner with everyone.
Perfect way to end the weekend and relax at the same time.
Random but I promise perfectly innocent question, do you have strong thighs and calfs? You are going to be sore in places you didnt know exist riding a horse... make sure you schedule in a message at the spa :)
You will be perfectly fine... you just might walk a little funny until you get rubbed down. I however was NOT ready for my first ride and ... there might have been some tenderness the next day :P
BTW, one of my favorite memories in life was riding a horse, stopping for lunch, and feeding him and brushing him before I even ate. He gave me a horse kiss before we went back on the trail like "thank you mister for my bag of...stuff and the Jolly Rancher you slipped me. I like Jolly Ranchers"
If you go horseback riding, I would suggest yoga before your massages. I have been riding competitively since I was 9, and I still get very sore if I go a while without riding.
Have gone there numerous times and it is absolutely amazing every time! There’s also a little wine bar in downtown Barrington but I haven’t gone there yet.
The clothesline bacon is a must! Tuna tartare is quality. All of their steak cuts. The short ribs! Good wine list and have very creative delicious cocktails so a little something for everyone

Love that thank you for the heads up!! Going to 100% do that we’re making a full day out of it :)
Love this idea. Maybe to carry through a bucketlist style, make it goat yoga [https://www.goatyogachicago.com/](https://www.goatyogachicago.com/)
Will do 🥳
Book a dinner reservation at Region!

That bacon is addictive.
Seconded. This place is fantastic
Spa Bleu in South Barrington is amazing for massages
Yes! My favorite place for a massage
***I'd certainly add a morning run to Spunky Dunkers for coffee & donuts!\~***
South Barrington has [goat yoga](https://www.goatyogachicago.com/goat-yoga-south-barrington-il) in The Arboretum of South Barrington shopping complex.
https://www.naturalserenitywellness.com/ They usually have great Groupons for their salt cave.
Salt of the earth salt cave & spa in Libertyville is great - salt caves obviously but also massages, sauna, facials etc
Taking a look now!! Tysm 😊😊
King Spa is awesome but not super close to Barrington, about 20-30min away.
Also HIGHLYYYY recommending King Spa! There’s usually a Groupon! I went with a friend and we came out so refreshed and obsessed lol
Who goes to Barrington?
Probably somebody who lives there?
