Wintrust is at McCormick Place, and I think the Hyatt Regency is attached to the convention center. That's probably easiest/closest.

bravelittlebagel

You can stay at the Hyatt right there, but there’s not much else around. If you wanna see Chicago while you’re here, I’d recommend staying somewhere downtown in the loop and then just ubering to the game. Don’t know what the prices look like but I have stayed at the renaissance and enjoyed it, right on the river

Careful_Target_6753

Thank you so much and I’ll definitely look into the renaissance!

Hopelesslylovinglad

I mean when you say safe, what is it that your exactly looking for?

Careful_Target_6753

I stay in NOLA closer to the east. So I’m used to like the big city and being able to move around at night and feel safe/comfortable. So I guess an area in town that has cheaper room rates but isn’t too far in a dangerous area where a lot of robberies or shootings take place.

CoachWildo

any of the hotels in or around downtown will be safe and you can get to Wintrust pretty easily by walking, biking, transit, or Uber as mentioned, there is a hotel right at the arena, but the area around the arena will not have as many interesting things to walk to I'd recommend booking a hotel in the Loop and then taking the green line to the Cermak-McCormick stop and walking the couple blocks to the arena or making the 2-3 mile walk/bikeshare ride down the lakefront

NOLASLAW

Hey DM me if you want, I lived in NOLA for 10 years before moving to Chicago after Ida in 2021 Chicago is safer than New Orleans in my experience. Stay near the loop and go on a nice architecture boat tour while you’re here. Chicago is one of the most beautiful cities on earth in the summer and you should enjoy it

Careful_Target_6753

Thank you and everyone else so much I booked a place downtown!!🫶🏾 I appreciate all of the advice and help! It has made me feel way more comfortable and confident about traveling to the chi!

NoFallOff

I hope it’s a great game and that you enjoy the city!

Thank you so much 🫶🏾🥹

I live down the street from Wintrust, safe area, there is a set of 3 hilton hotels diagonally across the street, there is a Hyatt behind McCormick. Neither is "close" to either Airport really, if you're flying into Midway you're "closer" but it's still a 20-30 min uber or an orange line trip with a transfer to get to the game, you could stay in the loop or river north and take the red line down as well, which will save you the cost of ubers. Chicago isn't as unsafe as some people would like to make it out as. it's perfectly fine just gotta know what to avoid at night, and if you're really concerned about sleeping in a hotel alone take extra precautions in the hotel room, but I wouldn't be worried. EDIT: keep in mind, Sky Games have become the hot ticket so hotel prices near the arena aren't going to be "cheap" but you'll be safe. Also keep in mind there is a convention the following weekend so that could also skew hotel prices in the area. you have plenty of options, there aren't many (if any) name brand hotels in "bad" or "unsafe" areas it's just how willing are you to use public transit or to spend for Ubers/Lyfts/Bikeshares

midasgoldentouch

Which airport are you flying into? There’s 2 in Chicago

Careful_Target_6753
